Profile

That night, the banners of the Rayne Family were swallowed by flames. The Lightbearer Empire had declared all-out war on the Maulers. The Rayne Family sent out its finest warriors, vowing to crush the enemy once and for all. But just before the campaign began, their most promising heir, Baden, fell in a scouting mission ambushed by the enemy. His entire unit was wiped out. Still, the Rayne Family pressed on with their full force, unaware that they were walking into a trap laid long ago. They had underestimated the Mauler's preparations and cunning. The Guardians of Dawn crossed into enemy lands, only to be met with a brutal ambush. One by one, the men of the Rayne Family fell. The Empire's elite forces were torn apart, and the family's legacy sank into the battlefield mud, reduced to a shattered flag. But the tragedy didn't end there. While the Rayne Family lay in ruins, nobles inside the Empire secretly working with the Court of Terror sent assassins to finish the job. In the dead of night, they crept into Rayne Manor, aiming to erase every last trace of the bloodline. Young Estrilda, barely old enough to understand the world, was hidden in her mother's arms, unaware that death was closing in. When the firestorm swept through the manor, she dragged her bloodied body out from a pile of corpses and watched as the home that held her happiest memories burned to ash. Honor. Family. Faith. All lost in a single night. From that moment on, Estrilda became a ghost, vanishing into the Empire's darkest corners. She was no longer a pampered noble, but just another nameless soul in a filthy slum, eating scraps to stay alive. She didn't want pity. She didn't need saving. Hatred fed her. And revenge became the only reason she kept breathing. Driven by that hate, she joined a mercenary band. There, in blood-soaked training pits, she learned how to make enemies bleed, and kill without hesitation. Battle by battle, she forged herself into something harder than steel. She no longer believed in the Empire's laws or so-called justice. The world had shown her the truth: only power decides what's right. At sixteen, her chance finally came—a national tournament to choose the Empire's next knights Estrilda hid her identity and even her gender. All the crowd saw was a ruthless warrior who showed no mercy. When she emerged victorious, she walked toward the king under the weight of every gaze, removed her helmet, and revealed her unmistakable face. "The daughter of the Rayne Family..." The king stared in disbelief. "You're alive?" Estrilda knelt and bowed her head. "The Rayne Family is gone. But I will rebuild the Empire's glory... with blood." The king was silent for a long time. At last, he raised his hand and made a historic decree. Estrilda would become the youngest knight in the Empire's history and be allowed to join the military ranks. But Estrilda didn't follow tradition. She didn't care about honor. She had only one goal: make the Maulers pay for what they'd done. Year after year, she led troops deep into enemy territory, never giving them a moment to regroup. She wasn't just a knight—she was a storm of blood and fire. Wherever her army marched, only scorched earth remained. Her name spread like a curse. Soldiers feared her. Enemies fled at the sound of her approach. Her tactics were merciless. Her orders, absolute. She wouldn't stop until the Maulers were wiped from the world. Even within the Empire, generals whispered behind her back, but no one dared challenge her to her face. With victory after victory, she climbed the ranks and became the Empire's coldest, deadliest general. Now, she had one goal left: to unleash the full might of the Empire and exterminate the Maulers. She would stop at nothing. Not nobles. Not even the king himself. To those who questioned her path, she had only one answer: "To kill a beast, you must become something worse." And anyone who tried to stand in her way? They'd be crushed without a second thought. If the crown got in her way, she'd tear it down herself. Night fell. From atop the royal castle, Estrilda looked out over the kingdom she had forged in blood. Unseen, something far beyond mortal sight had already turned its gaze on her. <c><line></c> "This timeline must be corrected." Orthros stood at the far shore of the River of Time, eyes narrowed at a world he barely recognized. Zolrath chuckled. "Again? You really don't know how to let go." Orthros stared at Estrilda, standing alone on the high tower, her world reduced to ashes, vengeance her only light. "This isn't the future she was meant to have." Zolrath sneered. "And what should her future have been? To become a hero of the empire serving a broken king?" "She had no Thane to guide her. No family to protect her. And still, she rose. She conquered in her own way..." "Estrilda is just one of many," Orthros interrupted. Zolrath smiled wider, as if he'd been waiting for that realization. "So you finally noticed?" "This isn't your timeline, Orthros," he said with mocking calm. "But it's already been born." "This is just a deviation—your meddling warped the timeline. I'll fix it." Zolrath spread his hands slowly. "Fix it? Are you sure this is just a deviation? What if this world has broken free and become something entirely new?" Orthros' eyes narrowed. Through the current of time, he saw countless fractures spreading like cracks in glass, which should have never existed. "I tweaked some threads, yes," Zolrath said softly. "But I didn't change the old world... I made a new one. One that runs beside yours." Orthros was silent for a moment, then said in a cold voice, "No matter why it was born, it must be corrected." He raised his hand. In his palm, time shimmered like a fragile scale waiting to tip. One touch, and he could set everything back. But he didn't move. This world… it had grown beyond what he expected. These lives weren't echoes... they had carved out their own path and made their own fate. Fixing it wouldn't bring things back. It would destroy it all. Zolrath watched from across the current, catching Orthros' hesitation. His smile turned sly. "Don't be hasty. You'll see soon enough. Their fate... was never yours to control." <c><line></c> The flames atop the tower still burned. Their red glow danced across Estrilda's armor. She stared into the distance, as if sensing something watch her. A moment later, she turned away and walked into the endless dark.
