Valiant | 18 | 8/16 | 160 | 42kg | Valiant is an excellent courier. She likes her job—she enjoys traveling between factions, making acquaintances left and right. In fact, she seems a little too dedicated to her job. So much so that she always appears careless and absent-minded when she's not working. The courier is a general profession the Augustine Empire invented without vocal opposition from the three factions. For couriers, crossing borders into foreign factions is all in a day's work; the real hazard, however, lies with the harsh wilderness and the beasts roaming it—uncertainties that one has no control over. To better deal with that, Valiant always plans ahead both on and off the road. When Valiant was little, she was told that being a courier was a dangerous but important profession, one that serves as the bridge between the four major factions. Being a Case with pigeon genes, Valiant is cut out for this profession. That's the reason she chose to become a courier. But she finds it hard to tell anyone that, so she keeps it a secret. |
Pierrot | 22 | 7/29 | 166 | 49kg | Pierrot is a waitress in a restaurant run by Audrey in the Empire. She is particularly shy. Pierrot excels at work and has a positive working attitude. However, she often enrages her guests because of her ''habit of repeating others' words''. Therefore, she has no confidence in herself. Fortunately, colleagues and friends like her very much. They know Pierrot desperately wants to do her job well, and their evaluation of her work is not low. Among the guests, there are some people with a special fetish for seeing the embarrassed Pierrot. Pierrot is eager to find a way to get rid of her habit of ''repeating others' words'' and her tendency to be shy. Therefore, she chose this job as a waiter that doesn't seem suitable for her, hoping to overcome the above problems. However, being scolded by the guests still hurts her so bad that she often hides and cries alone. Pierrot frequently visits her favorite place for afternoon tea on rest days to adjust her mood. For Pierrot, drinking a cup of black tea in a favorite place and enjoying a moment of tranquility and leisure are the best means to heal her soul. Pierrot admires one person. That's the owner of this restaurant, Audrey, who is liked by everyone in the Empire. Audrey keeps calm and smiling at all times. It is seeing the tenacity and strength under Audrey's smile that Pierrot secretly hopes she can be a person like Audrey. Therefore, even if Pierrot is reproached by guests, she never thinks of resigning. Today, as a member of the restaurant, she is doing her best to serve tea and water to the customers. |
Shelly | 16 | 7/31 | 155 | 41kg | Shelly lived in a border area as a kid. In wartime, she was in constant fear of harassment from rival factions. She sought refuge in comic books telling stories of heroes. Over time, she developed an obsession with those stories and started dreaming every night of herself becoming a hero. But every time she woke up, reality came back and all she saw was a war-torn world. Perhaps as a way of concealing her fear, Shelly made boastful claims to other kids that she was a hero who could protect them, and she made up stories to back them up. At first, the kids bought it. But Shelly always chickened out when push came to shove. Over time, the kids saw through her lies and started treating her as a joke. She was not ready to relinquish her status as ''the leader of the pack,'' but she didn't have a strong physique to support her ambition either. This landed her in a lot of trouble. But every time after she got beaten up and the kids left her alone, she would continue to rehearse her role as the leader figure. Shelly realized that it was her weak heart that got her in this situation. In order to grow stronger, she joined the Pontifical Guards. And now she's working hard to become the hero who can protect everyone. ''Shelly knows her limits. She doesn't have the courage of a hero, the willpower of a warrior, or the charisma of a king. Hell, she is not even strong. But she has never stopped chasing ''that shadow in her heart.'' Right now she is in some obscure corner of the world, trying her utmost, albeit vainly, to turn her lies into reality. An obsession like that is what makes her a potential ''rising star.'''' |
Cayenne | 14 | 11/19 | 136 | 32kg | Cayenne is an elite member of the Intelligence Department of the Augustine Empire. Those who meet her for the first time will be surprised by her arrogant attitude and strange tone of claiming herself to be a ''devil'' and the ''goddess of death''. Inside the God Eaters, Cayenne is treated as a problem child due to her unrestrained arrogance when she deals with her peers, superiors, or even Guinevere, who founded the God Eaters. Ever since Cayenne was discovered by Guinevere and recruited by the Intelligence Department, she has made outstanding contributions to the God Eaters in a short time. Her strength and contributions are evident to all. With extraordinary power and numerous achievements, Cayenne can go her own way in the God Eaters. She never participates in any meetings or trainings of the organization, but will not be questioned. Cayenne's true character is contrary to her arrogant attitude. She's extremely cautious. No matter what she does, she will always be well-prepared and never underestimate the enemy. Her serious attitude and small, cute, and trustworthy figure make her an excellent intelligence agent. For this reason, Guinevere chose to recruit Cayenne to join the God Eaters. By the way, Guinevere seems to condone Cayenne's insolence. In fact, Cayenne doesn't mean to be arrogant. She behaves in such a manner because she's inarticulate. She's liked watching anime and playing games alone since she was a child. Therefore, her words and deeds are deeply influenced by them and she has become what she is today. In Cayenne's opinion, she communicates in a normal tone and has no intention of intimidating or provoking others. Even in the event of an emergency, her tone won't change at all. To this day, Cayenne is still a game geek. Almost every night she will claim she has to do ''the work of the Intelligence Department''. In fact, she secretly plays games all night. As an intelligence agent, Cayenne has been carefully hiding her true nature. If she meets someone she trusts, maybe she will tell that person all the stories about herself. |
Luciferin | 19 | 1/13 | 154 | 42kg | Luciferin's favorite hobby is reading. She always looks quiet, well-behaved and inarticulate, so she often gives people the impression of being timid. Luciferin was born in Nebu. When she was a child, her family expected her to be a priest. However after she grew up, Luciferin chose to leave her hometown to lead a vagrant life. She is currently living in Teslovik, but this is not the end of her journey. She will explore the world in search of valuable books before moving on to her next destination. Maybe Luciferin will continue to live like this forever. ''Where are you going?'' ''What is your purpose?'' Many people have asked her those questions. However, she smiled every time and never answered. She's uncommunicative and timid. That's the impression that most people get after meeting Luciferin. She does look very indecisive. She has to discuss everything with others and frequently claims she feels confused. But in fact, Luciferin consciously uses diverse values to consider problems. Luciferin thinks that she ''lacks courage and toughness''. That assessment isn't wrong. However, if Luciferin is forced to accept a choice she doesn't agree with, she will show tenacity and backbone to refuse it. Probably only those who have known Luciferin for a long time will be able to notice the difference between her first impression and her true character. Luciferin was born in a small village in the Nebu Alliance. As there was a serious shortage of priests in the local area, people gathered talented children to cultivate them. Luciferin was one of the children. Luciferin, who was quiet and fond of reading since childhood, was regarded by adults as a good candidate to be a priest. However, after reading many ancient and modern classics, Luciferin questioned her country's practices. Many values coexist in this world. Some people agree with Nebu, while others refute Nebu's mistakes. Luciferin would've had to stay in Nebu forever if she decided to be a priest. Would that really be a good thing? Constantly questioning herself, and answering those questions herself, made Luciferin more hesitant. Soon after, the grown-up Luciferin was asked to be a priest. In her eyes, this originally honorable task was a choice that limited her own possibilities. At night, Luciferin decided to conceal her real name and leave Nebu. —This was the first time in her life that she has made an important decision by herself. |
Sasha | 17 | 2/20 | 163 | 55kg | Sasha used to serve in the force stationed on the border of Bifrost. Now she works for the defense force of Teslovik and is responsible for guarding important positions. Sasha is inarticulate and has a serious social phobia. However, her honest and selfless personality earns her deep trust from the soldiers. When performing missions, Sasha takes ''survival of all members'' as the most important goal. That has never changed. Sasha is not talkative, but she uses her actions to motivate her comrades-in-arms. She always takes the lead on the battlefield and single-handedly improves the survival rate of the defense force. For a team member performing a task with her for the first time, Sasha will give him/her a shell embodying her good wish that he/she could return safely from the battlefield with her. Most of the comrades fighting side by side with her sent a gift to Sasha to express their gratitude and closeness to her. At first, a small shell gift is used for seeking luck. But now, Sasha will look forward to the ''return gift'' from her comrades. It's said that she remembers every comrade who received her shell. —I need to put a mark on my notebook today. The task was completed, but the lady didn't come back alive. I drew a cross next to her name and turned to the next page. This notebook records the names of comrades who received my shells. Next to the names are the records of their return gifts. How many crosses have I drawn in this notebook so far? Now, they only live in my memory. —Tomorrow, the next task will start. Can I finish the task without losing any comrades... |
Sui | 15 | 9/17 | 156 | 43kg | Sui is a lady who lives in the forest. Her main job is to patrol the forest to stop unlicensed logging, poaching and illegal abandonment of pets. The animals like her very much. Every time Sui visits the forest, the animals will turn the patrol into a big parade. Sui is innocent and outspoken. As she spends more time with animals than humans, she gains a deeper understanding of the inexorable laws of nature than ordinary people do. She won't be shaken by birth, old age, sickness or death in nature. Some people may think she is ruthless. For Sui, however, it is just as natural as eating food and drinking water. Sui's parents died when she was a kid due to the accident of the Echo Crystal. Back then, Sui was affected by the accident, but she was lucky enough to survive because Dyatlov, one of the founders of Teslovik, happened to be present and rescued her. Later, Dyatlov adopted the orphaned Sui. Dyatlov taught Sui the rules of survival in the forest, and Sui assisted Dyatlov to study the Relic. The two lived together for several years. When Sui could naturally call Dyatlov ''father'', he suddenly died. Sui, who suffered bereavement again, was left with only those animals close to her. They became her irreplaceable companions and cured her loneliness. Therefore, Sui persists in patrolling the forest to fulfill her work duties and repay the favor of those partners. Sui is well versed in the cycles of ecosystems and natural laws. In her opinion, one of the most disgusting crimes is abandoning pets. Although pets are animals, they are not creations by nature. They are artificial beings created by humans for their selfish reasons. Moreover, there are many people who ignore pets made for themselves and even abandon them in the forest. Seeing the animals and plants that grow old and die according to natural laws, Sui is never moved. However, she adopts a quite different attitude to those small artificial beings. Sui, who was raised by Dyatlov after the death of her parents, seems to see something about herself in the abandoned pets. Therefore, whenever Sui discovers abandoned pets, she runs around to find new owners for them, saving many animals' lives. For pets that were discovered too late and have become wild, Sui will accept them as part of nature and silently guard them. In addition, if she realizes the existence of an animal will destroy the ecological balance of the forest, she will also perform her duty to eliminate it. In the deepest part of the forest, there is a tomb where lots of animals are buried. It is a place of condolences and blessings built by Sui for those lives that were rejected by both the human society and nature. |
Raven | 21 | 11/30 | 167 | 52kg | Raven is responsible for guarding the Forbidden City. She has an extraordinary persistence in completing her work perfectly, even if she has to die for her job. Except for the necessary rest and holidays, she silently performs her duties as a guard all the time. Raven never slacks off, so she is trusted by her superiors and colleagues. But Raven is very resistant to praise from others. If someone says to her, ''You're amazing!'', ''I'm counting on you!'' and so on, she will probably frown. The reason for that is still unknown. If you talk with her more, maybe you may find the answer. At ordinary times, Raven is silent and serious, giving the first impression of being unapproachable. In fact, she doesn't hate to communicate with others, but she simply feels it's unnecessary to do so. For Raven, reading not only enables her to experience what she can't experience in real life, but also brings peace of mind and enrichment. Raven, who seldom talks to people, relies on books to satisfy her little desire to communicate. However, the bonds caused by books are more than that. Raven, who frequents the Forbidden City Library to read books, unknowingly made close friends with Katch. Katch is one of Raven's few confidants. The quiet time of exchanging thoughts on reading and daily chores with Katch has become an important part of Raven's life. For Raven, the things that need to be guarded are in no particular order. But there are two exceptions: The first is children and animals who can't protect themselves according to their own wishes. Last is herself. For Raven, children and animals should be given the top priority, while the last one to be considered is herself. The reason is that Raven believes it is her mission to ''guard others'', and she is not one of them. She takes her life lightly. Therefore, Raven is neither used nor willing to be the object of others' dependence and attention. After all, if someone treats her as a special being, she can't respond to their feelings. |
Koyama Dosen | 15 | 11/3 | 138 | 34kg | Dosen doesn't even know why she was orphaned. Her parents told her to ''wait for us here'', so Dosen obediently stayed where she was and waited for them to come back. However, no matter how long she waited, her parents never returned. Did they abandon her for any special reason? Or were they involved in some dispute and couldn't come back? Dosen, who never got an answer, was left alone in this strange town. The one who took in Dosen is a woman who claimed to be an Onmyoji. The woman raised Dosen and taught her all Onmyoji skills. Dosen is grateful to the woman from the bottom of her heart. As Dosen grew up, however, she started to vaguely realize the woman was not a real Onmyoji, but a trickster for money. In fact, Dosen discovered the truth long ago: Her foster mother is a charlatan. But Dosen believed that at least her foster mother's love for her is definitely real, so she happily spent every day with her foster mother. Unfortunately, lies will be uncovered one day. Her foster mother was arrested on charges of cheating money under the guise of an Onmyoji. The high walls of the prison separated them. Dosen understands that her foster mother is not a good person, but she never doubted about her foster mother's love for her. For the same reason, Dosen continues to dress up as an Onmyoji. I'm very sorry. I have no money to buy your rice ball.'' Seeing the rice ball handed out by Dosen, the poor man said. Dosen is a merchant. Since she's a merchant, she won't offer anything to others for free. The poor man in front of her is dying. Even if he is given a rice ball, he will only live a little longer. ''Give me the money for the rice ball after you're out of the ruck.'' After finishing speaking the words, Dosen put the rice ball into the man's hand. Maybe this man will die today. Or maybe one day he will return to repay my favor? Dosen hopes that he can survive. Just as the foster mother who took in Dosen expected her to have a bright future, Dosen would also like to try to look forward to the promising future of others. Her foster mother taught her the means and ways of survival as a merchant, and the investment principle of following ''what your heart desires''. Dosen always remembers this lesson. |
Anina | 14 | 12/1 | 154 | 40kg | Anina is a recognized genius. She has been an erudite since childhood, and even adult scholars revere her. Although Anina is taciturn, quiet and cute, sometimes she will mock others with a poker face. Anina can't find common topics with her peers as she's too intelligent and knowledgeable. In such a situation, Anina is neither willing to lower her standards to cater to others, nor good at saying flattering words. However, despite knowing she is inarticulate and mean, many people are still attracted by Anina's lovely appearance. Anina is a daughter of the noble Suzaku family in Eastrise. She has been raised as the shadow of the eldest daughter of the family, Shiyu, since childhood. For the sake of her parents and elder sister, Anina accepted the plans made for her life without complaint. The day Anina lost her parents symbolizes a turning point in her life. In order to help her elder sister, who raised her after their parents' death, Anina spared no effort to learn all kinds of knowledge. She read a lot of history and philosophy books. As a result, her thoughts are as clear as those of a person who is fully enlightened. ''I won't let my sister continue to worry about me,'' Anina said to herself. The most powerful weapon she relies on is rich knowledge and her excellent mind that can use the knowledge freely. In order to survive on her own, she still studies hard until this day. Anina sometimes thinks about what she would be like if she was born into an ordinary family. If that were the case, she probably wouldn't think her peers and adults who are not as good as her are fools, and she could behave in a spoiled manner that suits her actual age with her family members. Of course, this doesn't mean she wants ''her life to be like that''. Anina understands that no matter how she fancies, the reality won't change, even the assumption is meaningless. Even so, Anina couldn't help but think about it on long and lonely nights. On such a night, Anina will make a cup of coffee. She will cool the coffee with sugar and milk and sip it. This is also a recipe for Anina to change her mood. |
Qurina | 23 | 5/31 | 163 | 48kg | She seems not energetic'', ''She has no desire to make progress.'' These are what most people comment on Qurina. In fact, Qurina is one of the best researchers in Teslovik. She participated in many research projects at the same time, and submitted lots of papers and research results. You can see the gap between subjective impression and objective reality by only reading the contrasting descriptions in the above paragraphs. The most puzzling thing is Qurina's attitude towards research. Although she masters complete professional knowledge, she can't find a professional field of interest. Generally speaking, a researcher's curriculum vitae must include a period of experience of his or her field of interest, and the current research topic must be related to this area of expertise. In Qurina's curriculum vitae, however, there is no such continuity. Sometimes, she will go to the research lab for help at the request of others. Sometimes, she will do experiments and write papers on a whim. Qurina keeps doing those things. As for her research direction and policy, we know nothing except that she takes ''safety'' and ''conciseness'' as the criteria. Even if you ask her directly, Qurina will subtly change the topic. She is even dubbed by outsiders as one of the seven wonders of the laboratory. There are many mysteries about Qurina, but the following features are certain: First, she likes crowded occasions. Although she is an all-rounder who is active in many fields, she never does research alone. To be exact, she only conducts research when there are other people nearby. Even if it is independent work such as writing a paper, she must find a bustling place before starting to write. Second, Qurina cares for and values her colleagues. When conducting experiments, she cares more about the safety of her colleagues than anyone else does. After work, in most cases, she will go home with her colleagues. She was witnessed several times rescuing her co-workers who were attacked by villains. Qurina never hides her careless and casual attitude on ordinary days. She is said to be extremely serious and focused when protecting her colleagues. This is Dark Road, a place for desperate people. Dark Road is also the name of Qurina's organization. People who join Dark Road will neither reveal their past nor try to find out others' past. That's because every researcher who came here has an ulterior dark past. Having lost the opportunity to work for other institutions, these poor people have no choice but to gather to overcome difficulties. Therefore, members of Dark Road have a close bond with each other. It is easy to understand why Qurina, who is an extremely powerful member of the organization, desires to protect her co-workers. ... Qurina's clothes may help you get a brief glimpse of her past. Her birthplace can be deduced from her outfit that possesses distinctive camp characteristics. |
Niko | 18 | 8/15 | 154 | 36kg | A lady who was born and raised on the border of Nebu. She loves the forest and believes that nature is more precious than gold. Life in the forest is the most comfortable for her, and she gained a lazy temperament after getting used to such a slow life. Contrary to her sweet and cute appearance, Niko has a strong sense of territory and is very resistant to people stepping into her land. However, the cats of her clan and the Case with feline features are the exceptions. Niko will express deep affection to them and behave in a completely different manner. In addition, shopping using a vending machine without contacting humans is one of Niko's few pleasures. Born and raised in the forest, Niko naturally obtained the consciousness of being a ''forest keeper'' since childhood. Once, Niko fell into a trap set by the enemy who attempted to destroy the forest. At the critical moment, Horus, the ruler of Nebu, saved her. In order to repay the favor, Niko promised Horus that she would fulfill their wish. A few years later, Horus secretly contacted Niko and entrusted her to investigate Wadjet, who they thought might be in collusion with Rasparta. Niko was reluctant to leave the forest and get involved in the disputes, but she accepted the commission to honor her promise. During the investigation, Niko became friends with Aurora, an innocent maid of Wadjet. While suffering from guilt, Niko found out the relationship between Wadjet and Rasparta from Aurora and completed the commission. Rasparta's little tricks behind the scenes worked. The contradictions among major factions intensified day by day, and the war escalated. However, Niko, who returned to the forest, was not affected by the war at all, and she lived a peaceful and quiet life. However, the war finally spread to this forest of Nebu. When the forest was burned to ashes by the war and the beautiful nature was destroyed, Niko felt extremely angry and sad. Looking at the tragic image of the forest burned by the ruthless fire, Niko repented her weakness and vowed to take revenge on the guys who devastated the forest. Unfortunately, Niko, who is used to acting alone, could get little assistance at this time. Even so, Niko still takes the restoration of the forest as her dream and has been fighting tirelessly until this day. |
Yarena | 22 | 10/18 | 164 | 53kg | Yarena is a mysterious, sexy and attractive dancer. Based in the desert after the Calamity, she fascinates the audience with her gorgeous face, curvy figure and dazzling dancing. She quickly gained fame. However, no one knows her origin or purpose. It is said that some overzealous fans tried to investigate her background, but they couldn't find any information. Every day, the enigmatic Yarena dances with a charming smile. Her beauty and the stereotypes that come with her profession often lead outsiders to assume that Yarena is bold and open. In fact, she just regards working as a professional dancer and earning her own living in Nebu as her life goals. Her determination comes from her unknown past. Yarena has been a slave since she was born. She was abused since childhood and lived in endless despair. However, this hellish life came to an abrupt end one day. The emancipation movement set Yarena free. Therefore, Yarena is grateful to Garula, the leader of the movement. For Garula, Yarena is just one of the countless slaves she rescued. For Yarena, however, Garula is a great benefactor who changed her life. Garula once said, ''Live! You should live a more brilliant life from now on.'' Yarena not only bears those words in mind, but also does what Garula said. Yarena is determined to live a more beautiful and splendid life than anyone else does. Yarena has a close friend whom she values very much. Her name is Niko, the keeper of the border forest of Nebu. People think the serious Niko, with a strong sense of territory, and Yarena, who is enchanting and mysterious, wouldn't get along well with each other. However, Niko and Yarena seldom quarrel as they know how to keep an appropriate distance in interpersonal interactions. Niko is affectionate to Yarena, who is not a cat Case. That's because she knows Yarena has a serious personality that doesn't match her gorgeous appearance. Yarena also regards the straightforward and clumsy Niko as her most important friend. When Yarena works as a dancer in the city, Niko will perform the tasks assigned to her by Horus. After their work is finished, the two will gather in front of Niko's beloved vending machine and return to the forest. For Yarena and Niko, the happy time of sitting around the bonfire and laughing after work is their most precious treasure. However, Yarena still harbors a sense of guilt towards Niko. When Niko was involved in a political struggle, Yarena couldn't think of any way to comfort her except dancing. Although they still get along as well as before, Yarena's beautiful smile will disappear whenever she recalls that helpless moment. |
Luca | 19 | 2/20 | 162 | 55kg | Luca, who was born in the famous Su clan in Eastrise, grew up under the indulgence of her parents. Although she occasionally found her parents who did everything for her to be annoying, Luca still loves and respects them from the bottom of her heart. The quiet life she thought would last forever was suddenly stopped. Luca's family was raided. Her beloved parents were killed in front of her, and only Luca survived. After that day, however, she lost her family name. Luca, who was rescued by a certain lord, hid her identity as a descendant of the Su family and lived carefully since then. As the only child of the Su family, she began to hope that she could grow up to be an elegant adult like her parents. However, Luca sometimes would behave in an ingenuous and frank manner. Especially when reading her favorite comics, she is no different from her peers. Luca, who started looking forward to love due to the comics, has no experience in love, so her view of love is even a little naive. Fortunately, Luca is aware of that. Although she yearns for the romantic scenes in the comics, she secretly fantasizes them in her mind and rarely reveals them to others. Luca cherishes two dreams: The first is that she can be a proud Su family member like her mother and father. The second is that she can declare her real name openly like she did in the past. On the day when the tragedy struck, Luca could only watch as her parents were killed, which made her feel regret to this day. During the period when she lost everything, Luca was immersed in sadness every day. What enabled her to cheer up again was the goal of recovering the Su family. Although her parents and the peaceful life are gone forever, the family name can be regained. Now, Luca has to live in anonymity and drag out an ignoble existence. One day, however, Luca will overcome all the difficulties and fears and show people her real name again. |
Camelia | 16 | 8/15 | 150 | 38kg | A timid girl from a noble family, her social awkwardness and inward nature means she doesn't get out much. Her Case composition incorporates Bat genetics, which requires her to consume animal blood on a regular basis. If she doesn't get it, she develops an unquenchable thirst for blood. Inconveniently, she despises the taste of blood, so she seeks out Blood Pudding and other animal products to satisfy her special dietary requirements. Camelia really enjoys sweet things, especially milkshakes (cherry flavor) and all kinds of locally made delicacies. Owing to her pathological shyness, she often has to ask her friends to go out and buy them for her. She is very particular about freshness and never purchases items online that contain preservatives. If Camelia consumes any Case blood (whether her own or someone else's) she enters a Frenzied state for a period of time, during which her inhibitions fall away and she becomes incredibly assertive and violent. Camelia remembers these episodes and feels deep shame afterward. She never speaks of her prowess in battle in front of others. |
Bastet | 23 | 9/25 | 162 | 57kg | Bastet is the earliest and staunchest supporter of Horus, leader of the Nebu Alliance. Her presence next to the alliance leader rarely gets noticed. Even when it does, she never really leaves an impression. A hard-working assistant—that's all she is in most people's eyes. But the truth is, she's more than that. When Bastet pledged her allegiance to Horus, she was the first person to do so. At the time, Nebu was rudderless and struggling in a dark era. Bastet had lost everything when she was saved by Horus. Grateful for the kindness Horus showed her, Bastet volunteered to become Horus's much-needed ''blade''—and the sharpest one Horus ever had. More powerful than anyone could imagine, Bastet once pulled off the feat of single-handedly conquering a city. The memory of Bastet slashing open the city gate remains as fresh as ever in Horus's mind. After Bastet lost everything, Horus became the only thing that kept her going. For a long time that followed, Bastet took care of Horus's daily necessities and made a hobby out of it. She would do anything to help her or cheer her up. Bastet truly loves her job—whether it requires her to be an assistant or a dessert master—and she loves it to the exclusion of everything else. |
Parvati | 18 | 3/12 | 155 | 40kg | Parvati often takes care of her subordinates and orphans. If a child says they can't put on socks, she will help put them on. If a subordinate says they caught a cold, she will probably force them to lie down and rest, and prepare to help with numerous medicines and medical books. Parvati, who likes to take care of others, is naturally a good person in everyone's eyes. Or it can be said that she is too good. Regardless of the feelings of those in her care, from a bystander's point of view, her excessive kindness is really abnormal. If Parvati looks lonely, it must be because someone refused her care. If one hears a child say, ''It's okay. I can do it myself,'' one should be happy for the child's independence. If Parvati hears a subordinate say, ''I will try my best to prove myself to Your Highness Parvati'', Parvati would burst into tears for the subordinate's growth. However, that's not what Parvati wants. What she desires is a state of ''being needed''. Parvati has no family. When Parvati was a kid, she was infected with a disease and abandoned by her relatives. Fortunately or unfortunately, Parvati lost her memory of that time. She doesn't remember how she survived and whether she had any family other than her parents. However, that experience undoubtedly exerted a profound impact on her. Parvati is deeply afraid of being ''not needed by anyone''. That's why she works tirelessly to take care of others. In Parvati's view, as long as she is interdependent with others, she won't be abandoned. |
Senko | 24 | 2/26 | 170 | 68kg | Senko, a member of the Church, is the current captain of the Gospel Troops—an expedition force assembled by the Pope. Fighting and exploring make up the bulk of the troops' jobs. After Senko took the helm, her tactical and military prowess catapulted the troops to legendary status among members the Church, establishing them as the main military force of the Empire. Senko is a very charismatic leader, efficient in work and caring at heart. She is a self-styled ''knight'' who strictly abides by the dated ''Knight's Oath.'' A possible explanation is that she has some ancient knight's blood running in her veins. She cares for her subordinates and comrades, and she treats the Holy Lady, Vivi, like a younger sister or daughter. Senko's real identity is a spy planted in the Empire by Rasparta. She is the Empire's best-disguised Oracle: Saint Bartholomew. Over the years, she grew sympathetic and attached to the Empire and renounced the idea of betraying it. She reluctantly carried out Project W under the pope's orders and created the artificial being Vivi. She has been feeling guilty about it, which is why she is always overprotective of Vivi. She doesn't want to go back to Rasparta anymore. Instead, all she wants is to be a knight and fight for the people of the Empire. |
Kurain | 21 | 5/21 | 168 | 55kg | Up till now, Kurain came to be known by many aliases and public personas since she acted as a spy in many countries and militaries. She played the role of a simple girl in a small village, and also pretended to be a soldier who resolutely obeyed orders. As a spy, Kurain's excellence and ruthlessness forced all countries to treat her as a dangerous person and watch out for her. All the places that Kurain infiltrated kept her identity records at the time. However, her past is almost unknown. If you ask Kurain directly, she will probably answer, ''I have forgotten the past''. That indifferent attitude makes people believe that she is really a ruthless spy. At the same time, however, she also vaguely reveals hints of loneliness from time to time. Kurain used to operate in a team with her partners. However, Kurain never teamed up again after an incident occurred in a mission. The enemy sent a spy disguised as Kurain, released false information, and lured her companions into a trap. None of them survived. Kurain blamed herself for their deaths, as they were the closest she had to friends. Ever since, Kurain avoided contact with others and even kept a distance from her new partners to prevent herself from establishing bonds with others. Eventually, Kurain stopped working in teams and only accepted missions that required her to act independently. I'm a cold-hearted woman.'' When Kurain was on a solo undercover investigation, she learned that her partners were captured. She thought it was a trap set up to lure out undercover agents. Knowing it was a trick, Kurain still rushed to rescue her companions. Kurain always claims she is cold-blooded, but as long as it is for the sake of her companions, she will take risks. The enemies, who only heard rumors about her, imagine her as an emotionless spy. But is she really a ruthless person? |
Eriri | 16 | 7/30 | 148 | 42kg | Underneath Eriri's exterior lies an abyss of darkness.'' ——An anonymous big-breasted Case Eriri could read at a very early age but couldn't speak—in front of her parents anyway—until she was four. The first time she spoke, she did it for ten minutes straight, when her parents were fighting over a missing vibration device. Based on the sweetness level of the oatmeal porridge she had for breakfast that day, Eriri deduced that the vibration device was stolen by the cook who resigned three days earlier. When she was done speaking, her parents were looking at her stunned, the vibration device gone from their minds. That night, when fiddling with the vibration device she stole, Eriri still thought her parents overreacted. One reason Eriri doesn't like talking is that she thinks that's a very inefficient way to express the ideas cramming her brain. The other reason is that there aren't many things that she thinks are interesting enough to talk about. For the first fourteen years of her life, Eriri spent all her waking hours in her study and storehouse, reading and doing experiments, growing up fast in her own way. As a result, Eriri had very few friends or people to talk to besides Aiken, one of her parents' clients, who would chat with her once in a while. On Aiken's advice, Eriri used the vibration device she stole to build a neurological amplitude reducer, which helped keep her from talking gibberish because of her overly fast working brain. When at the age of fifteen she finished reading the last book in her house, she suspected that history had been tampered with, that someone took advantage of the calendrical differences between civilizations to turn the clock back twenty years, for one obvious reason: to conceal a secret event that had been ongoing for twenty years, one that stood to change the future of the world. Eriri developed her theory into a thesis and sent it to Aiken. The next day, Aiken turned up at Eriri's door, suggesting they go to a place called Teslovik to solve that world-changing mystery. |
Gura | ??? | 10/22 | 157 | 46kg | Gura, who always looks harmless, is particularly conspicuous in the faction of Yulia where there are a large number of warlike persons. ''She must have been coerced by Yulia to serve as her subordinate.'' Most people who see Gura would make that speculation. However, what few people know is that Gura has few matches in combat power in the entire Bifrost. Gura looks sweet and lovely, but she excels at calculating, always thinking about how to use or frame others. With cunning, strong power, and extraordinary thinking and reaction ability, Gura performs tasks with ease. Besides, by cleverly hiding her calculating nature and real strength, Gura succeeded in convincing Yulia's subordinates that she was a poor little doll manipulated by Yulia. As a matter of fact, Yulia is not Gura's superior. They are partners. Yulia provides her with the fake identity of ''subordinate''. In return, Gura takes orders from Yulia to fight. They use each other for mutual benefit, maintain an equal position, and only pay attention to interests. Relying on the cover of Yulia, who owns both strong leadership charisma and strength, Gura is able to secretly push forward her ''true mission''. Gura's real identity is a Nebu spy sent by Rasparta. For Gura, Yulia is just one of the stepping stones to accomplish her task. Moreover, since Yulia regards the Ancient One that Gura believes in as a dangerous existence, Gura was both angry at and contemptuous of her. |
Nanook | 18 | 8/17 | 164 | 52kg | The lady named Nanook knows the importance of discipline. There is a fixed time for getting up, training and going to bed... As long as she follows the discipline set by the superiors, she will be ''right''. Moreover, so long as she doesn't violate the discipline, she won't be punished or blamed. Meanwhile, she is well aware of the limitations of discipline. Discipline won't teach you how to fold clothes or improve your cooking skills. For those who are hopeless, discipline is useless. Relying solely on the constraints of language or words can't prevent those collectively out-of-control behaviors. Even so, Nanook still chose to obey the discipline. In the final analysis, she feels uneasy about changes. Nanook always wears a smile. The reason is quite simple: She abides by the discipline of ''keeping smiling at all times'' set by Yulia. Over the years, it has become an instinct of Nanook. Whether Nanook is sad or angry, she always smiles, even though her tone and pitch of voice have changed. Her expression changes when she talks to Sui and the Awakener. Only at that moment, Nanook will forget the discipline and display her age-matched girlish nature. Sometimes she cries and sometimes she gets furious... Maybe in the near future, Nanook can show a heartfelt smile. Nanook was born in a wealthy family. She was served by maids all day. Even if she threw clothes on the floor, someone would clean them up quickly. No matter what she wanted to eat, she could immediately see it on the table. Of course, she didn't need to wash the dishes. The ill-gotten gains accumulated by her parents, who were arms dealers, supported her extravagant life. Sometimes, they even incited countries to wage war for profit. The parents of Nanook finally enraged the public. In a popular uprising, they were publicly executed. After that, Nanook, who was extradited to the military, was bullied by superiors and fellow soldiers who knew the inside information. Although she didn't suffer any physical injuries, Nanook's mental state was pushed to the limit bit by bit by them. Even so, Nanook still didn't choose to die. When the thought of suicide flashed through her mind, her best friend's smile suddenly appeared. ''Sui...'' That's the name of a close friend with a bright smile. ''Sui won't give up at a time like this... She will definitely train hard and take vengeance. She is that kind of a person.'' Nanook quietly encourages herself and stands up again. |
Snezhana | ??? | 5/1 | 168 | 54kg | With a background in Bifrost Industries, she somehow developed a wide network of contacts and resources in the underworld. She can easily get her hands on intel regarding other factions. After joining Teslovik, she put her network and intel-gathering skills to full use. As a result, all hidden factions started to pay more attention to Teslovik and assess its newly gained advantage in the intel war. Snezhana is always very friendly to other artificial beings in her faction. From time to time she gives them little gifts they like, winning their hearts (although it's anybody's guess how she knows what gifts they like). She takes her friendliness up a notch with her two squadmates. She comes up with all kinds of irrefutable excuses to hang out with them. She even manages to convince Eriri and Sova to share a bed with her on certain festive occasions. Her next target is the Awakener. It's said that her room is cluttered with files on the Awakener and plans to ''get them.'' |
Iori | 25 | 1/10 | 168 | 62kg | There are always a large number of talented people in the Empire: People who are considerate, people who are wandering on the boundary between good and evil, and people who are working to achieve their ideals and ambitions... The arrival of many people naturally gave rise to diverse ideas. Iori, who remains carefree and content in such an environment, can be regarded as a weirdo in a sense. Born to be unlucky, Iori is neither angry nor sad about what happened to her. She can still spend every day in a calm fashion. Maybe those who are tired of cheating are attracted by Iori's attitude, so they come to seek comfort from her. She often loses her wallet due to negligence or accidents. But for some reason, every time a kind-hearted person will pick up the wallet and bring it back to her. We know of more than a hundred similar cases. In addition, although she's very careful, accidents still happen to her frequently. She hasn't been injured in accidents so far because of her strong body or strange reasons, such as the other party's sudden disappearance at the moment when she was about to be hit. There are so many doubts about her, which can't be explained by physical reasons. We have to suspect that she can covertly interfere with the law of cause and effect. If that's true, she will be of great research value.'' —Excerpts from the research report by the relevant personnel at the God Eaters. Unlike most people in the Empire, Iori's parents are still alive. She grew up with her parents' deep love. Iori tries to repay this nurturing favor and loves everything in the world without discrimination, except the color red. Red fire that burns up all crops. Red blood that means death. In her opinion, red is something that will take away the world in which she lives. Therefore, she chose to take the initiative to create a peaceful world without red. |
Panther | 24 | 1/20 | 164 | 48kg | Strikebreaker'', ''Maggot''—these are what Bifrost workers call Panther behind her back. But on the factory floor, she has only one title: Chief Designer. In Bifrost Industries, there are only two people who hold that title—the other is Niz, the person who set the path for the people of Bifrost. As for Panther, she controls Bifrost's capital system and makes sure the people don't starve while walking down that path. She provided shelter for the people and helped Niz return to Bifrost Industries' base Stoker, thus ending the war. Even so, most people see Panther as a ''strikebreaker who steals from workers,'' but Panther pays it no mind. She spends most of her energy stabilizing the financial market, reducing external capital shocks and preventing major capital flights. Thanks to Panther's and her people's hard work, this wild beast called the capital market has been tamed, with inflation brought under control. The amount of workload this job entails would drive anyone crazy, but not Panther—she was born with a passion for money. The only sight that can put a smile on her face is not Niz or anyone else, but money; the way she grins at a banknote freaks people out... That probably explains her poor reputation among the masses. In some people's minds, Panther has a more elevated status in Bifrost than Niz. People are always lining up to bribe her. But every time after she takes bribery, she vanishes, leaving the briber out to dry. Someone once submitted evidence of her corruption to Niz, but nothing happened. Niz's absolute trust in Panther makes it impossible for anyone to drive a wedge between them. It's hard to tell what Niz's underlying motive really is, but the fact that she grants Panther the greatest possible freedom to exercise her financial talent means Panther has no reason to betray her. |
Rikin | 18 | 2/3 | 159 | 45kg | Rikin, who is known as a genius, skipped a grade and obtained her degree after being recommended by her tutor. After that, Rikin went to the Forbidden City Library and devoted herself to research. Her incomparable self-esteem and persistence are described as arrogance by some jealous scholars. However, Rikin's friends have witnessed her meticulous attitude towards knowledge. Therefore, no one endorses those criticisms. The young scientist's favorite food is the melon-pan. According to the rumors, no one likes to eat the melon-pan due to its unique shape and strange taste, and it is Rikin's dedicated support that sustains the continuous production of the food. Although the rumors sound real, the truth is unknown. Rikin is often misunderstood as a careerist due to her competitive character. Some people satirize that she pretends to be careful in doing research, but the only thing Rikin cares about is whether she can produce results. The research topic she selected is, to everyone's surprise, immortality, which is regarded as a fable or even a laughingstock by modern people. Rikin's decision to study this topic, which frustrated countless predecessors, is largely influenced by her innate thirst for knowledge. Unconsciously, this desire for knowledge also gave rise to a fetish for collecting wind chimes and precious gems that she regarded as symbols of beauty. According to Rikin's theory, crystal and transparent gems and glass boast an irreplaceable pure beauty that endows them with unparalleled and ultimate charm. For Rikin, longevity represents the mysterious beauty of the human body, and it possesses the same charm as that of precious gems fascinating her. The name Raeon carries another meaning for Rikin. Rikin and the current ruler of Eastrise are good friends who spent unforgettable moments at school together. Who will exert greater influence on fortune, the lucky Rikin or the god's chosen Raeon? This topic once satisfied Rikin's desire for knowledge. At that time, she tried her luck with everything she could think of every day in the name of increasing the number of samples. Unlike Rikin, who didn't care about the results, Raeon, who was competitive, would be happy or annoyed for every victory or defeat. These trifles have now turned into beautiful memories deeply engraved in Rikin's mind. However, such memories became the cause of Raeon's unilateral alienation from Rikin. Whenever Rikin thinks about those experiences, she will get mixed feelings. |
Xen | 19 | 1/16 | 165 | 51kg | The energetic and uplifting Xen is now working in a barbecue restaurant. She treats every guest with delicious grilled meat and a bright smile. As long as guests are received by Xen, they will unconsciously smile. Even her shortcoming of being addled becomes something adorable. This beloved barbeque clerk's favorite is to have grilled meat and a lactobacillus drink after a day's work. Seeing Xen eating with a smile, it's hard to imagine that she has experienced numerous hardships in the past. Xen hates some food. Particularly the corn which can be found everywhere in the barbecue shop. Occasionally, a customer will ask for corn, but Xen always fobs off with a smile and refuses to add corn to the menu. Xen detests corn so much for a reason. When she was nine years old, a plague struck the village of Eastrise where she lived. The menacing epidemic claimed the lives of many villagers and all of her family members. The loss of loved ones broke down Xen. She left her hometown and started wandering alone. No matter where she went, she couldn't find decent food. She had to pick corn found in the field and eat it raw to feed herself. Xen spent quite a long time wandering here and there. At the end of her vagrant life, she was so disgusted with corn that she couldn't look at it. For Xen, the taste of corn will only evoke the psychological trauma of the painful loss of relatives and home. The vagrant Xen was once involved in a war and seriously injured. Part of her body had to undergo mechanical transformation to save her life. To repay the favor of saving her life, she abandoned the name ''Xen'' given by her parents, adopted the name ''Sunflower'', and left Eastrise to start espionage in Bifrost. As Eastrise expected, ''Sunflower'' was very good at spying and soon became Snezhana's assistant. Over time, Snezhana began to care about the rash, cheerful and brave ''Sunflower''. ''Sunflower'' forgot her position and bared her soul to Snezhana. They went shopping and had barbecues together on vacation, and their relationship grew increasingly intimate, until the day when Sunflower was shot ''dead'' in front of Snezhana. After the mission in Bifrost was over, Sunflower was almost killed by the Eastrise government that attempted to prevent secrets from leaking. Fortunately, she managed to escape. After her escape, Sunflower worked in a barbecue shop while waiting for an opportunity to take revenge against the Eastrise government. Barbecue can remind Xen of many stories between Snezhana and herself. Every time she makes a delicious barbecue, Xen can't help but think that it would be great if Snezhana could taste the food. Although Xen betrayed Snezhana because of her duty, she still wants to apologize to Snezhana for the betrayal. This time, she hopes she can be friends with Snezhana again as ''Xen'' instead of ''Sunflower''. Today, Xen is covering up her regret and desire with a smile and preparing food quietly in the kitchen. |
Katch | 22 | 10/28 | 166 | 53kg | Katch witnessed the rise of Eastrise and the completion of the Forbidden City Library. Katch is now responsible for managing state secrets and has made extraordinary achievements in the fight against spies. Out of the strong sense of belonging and national pride to Eastrise, Katch never slacks off at work. She is loyal to Raeon. Therefore, she was entrusted with great power in Eastrise. However, a few people criticize that Katch is trustworthy, but she is too harsh and serious. They assert that Katch lacks empathy and flexibility. Katch doesn't care about such criticisms. After all, she believes that her job doesn't need any empathy or flexibility at all. The best way to keep a secret is to know nothing about it.'' Katch once said this to her subordinates. For example, although she knows there are numerous secrets in the Forbidden City Library, she never cares about those secrets and knows nothing about them except the information she has to know. So far, Katch has killed countless spies. The belongings of those spies are neatly stacked like tombstones in her room. In other words, the quantity of those things is the number of enemies she has made. Katch often considers the possibility that the enemies may kidnap her to obtain information. If she were caught, she would probably suffer retaliatory torture. Even though Katch has received various trainings, she is not confident that she can keep her mouth shut in that situation. Therefore, she avoids learning about confidential specifics as much as possible in her work to keep herself from having a chance to leak secrets. In Katch's view, even she herself can't be fully trusted. Today, I sorted out the belongings of the spies. Collecting the personal belongings of people who were killed by myself is really not an elegant hobby. However, these belongings prove my loyalty to Eastrise. Every time I add another item to the collection in my room, I'll once again confirm that my existence is needed by Eastrise. Although I know my self-esteem is insignificant, it is better than nothing. Among the belongings is a pendant. After opening it, I found a picture of a child. Probably it's the dead spy's kid. This guy even took a photo of a relative and was really careless. No wonder this guy was caught and killed by me. Of course, the photo may be a prop prepared by the spy to disguise identity and the person in the photo is a completely unrelated stranger. —I realized that is possible. Was the person I killed the parent of someone? To tell the truth, realizing that the enemy was a living human makes my chest feel tight. However, I have dedicated my loyalty to Eastrise and Lady Raeon. I must not be bound by emotions and ruin the future of my motherland. In the future, I will continue to take the lives of many parents and children, until the day I get judged...'' —Quote from the diary of Katch on a certain day— |
Yanling | 28 | 12/20 | 170 | 56kg | As a general guarding the border of Eastrise, Yanling's strength is universally recognized. She is reputed as the ''Barrier of Eastrise''. Yanling is especially good at surprise attacks. On the battlefield, she can defeat the enemy in a matter of minutes. Yanling is invincible and has achieved countless successes, living up to the name of ''Goddess of the Battlefield'' granted by the military ministry. However, despite her strong power, Yanling is ordered to defend the border all year round and is never allowed to return to the central government. But Yanling never complains about it. If you only read the above-mentioned information, you will realize Yanling is a perfect general. However, according to her subordinates, Yanling is careless and sloppy in her daily life. She is also a well-known heavy smoker. She keeps smoking all the time, whether there is someone in front of her or not. No matter what she is doing, she will take a few puffs of a cigarette. Rumor has it that Yanling spends all her monthly living expenses on buying cigarettes. At the invitation of Chiraha, Yanling joined the Watchtower. As for the reason for joining the Watchtower, it is not so much Yanling's dissatisfaction with Raeon who rules Eastrise as her sympathy with Chiraha. Most of the subordinates admiring Yanling also joined the Watchtower. Today, Yanling's troops function as the most important force of the Watchtower. To Yanling's great regret, her favorite subordinate, Raven, flatly refused her invitation. After joining the Watchtower, Yanling not only fights on the battlefield, but also takes an active part in training newcomers. She has high expectations for Taisei who boasts amazing combat power at a young age. Before joining the Watchtower, Yanling's wish was to live a leisurely life. However, the encounter with the Watchtower gave birth to a new voice in her mind. That's an admonition from the ''Goddess of the Battlefield''. —''Never live a cozy life. Forge ahead to make new achievements.'' Although Yanling fights gallantly in battles, she takes a quite different attitude to life. She intensely dislikes trouble and yearns for a peaceful and leisurely lifestyle. Only those places that are in sharp contrast with tumultuous battlefields and bring peace and tranquility can give Yanling's soul a moment's rest. The glass handicraft shop that Stara previously operated in Eastrise is one of such places. Yanling often visited that shop. In the shop, Yanling could appreciate beautiful glass crafts while smoking and enjoying a leisurely time that she can't have at other places. As Yanling frequented the shop, she and the owner Stara became friends and began to talk about some meaningful topics. One day, Stara confided a secret to Yanling and expressed her admiration for the Watchtower. This is the first time that Yanling got interested in the Watchtower. ''What kind of a guy would the leader of the Watchtower be?'' Back then, however, Yanling was just curious about the Watchtower. The anti-government organization Watchtower does things in a very radical manner, which runs counter to the stable lifestyle she pursues. However, Yanling heard a voice of excitement from her soul. Yanling is eager to live a comfortable life, but she also can't completely let go of the desire to shine on the world stage. —Therefore, Yanling, after finding she and Chiraha are like-minded, accepted Chiraha's invitation and joined the Watchtower. |
Sil | 23 | 10/13 | 173 | 55kg | For the rank-and-file soldiers of Eastrise, generals are a rarefied cohort beyond their reach, and Chief Sword Master Sil is the best possible sword wielder they could come into contact with. Sil is not a member of the army. She always fights alongside her apprentices during missions, thus helping reduce their casualties on the battlefield. That's why the grass-roots soldiers consider her the best candidate to lead them. Sil is an avid weapon collector. She has a room dedicated solely to blades—it's the place where she spends the most time. Unlike other collectibles, blades get rusty if left unused for a long time. That is unless they're given routine maintenance, which is what she does whenever she can spare the time from teaching swordsmanship to her apprentices and going on missions. As a result, her entire collection is always kept in tip-top shape. When she looks at those sharp blades, she can feel their desire to penetrate enemies. So she makes a point of carrying a different blade every time she goes on a mission—so that all of her ''babies'' get the chance to meet enemies and have their desire satisfied. As Chief Sword Master, Sil has been widely courted as a potential ally, including by big names such as the Eastrise general Firentia, the Watchtower leader Chiraha, and even the Eastrise chief Raeon. But Sil turned all of them down. Sil's apprentices are numerous and scattered across all walks of life—from foot soldiers to Watchtower members, from Luminary Guards to Eastrise generals. Wherever there is a battle, you will find them. Being an adherent to traditional values, the last thing Sil wants is to cross blades with her apprentices. That's why she has rejected all invitations to join the fray. |
Aurora | 16 | 11/27 | 145 | 38kg | Aurora is a cute little slacker who loves to stay at home. In her eyes, there is no passion for work. If conditions permit, she sincerely hopes to stay and sleep at home all her life. Although people think she is unreasonable, they still spoil the lazy but adorable Aurora. Despite her preference for staying at home, Aurora masters medical knowledge very quickly. She can memorize all the textbooks and materials in the blink of an eye, surprising her mother who works in medicine. ''A girl with enormous potential shouldn't be abandoned.'' Her mother thinks so. Her father sent Aurora to work in his restaurant to correct the habits of his lazy daughter, who is capable but not energetic. As a result, a pure, cute and lazy concierge appears. Aurora's father runs a little-known restaurant, and guests are mostly ordinary people. One day, the famous Celestial of the Golden Marsh Tribe, Wadjet, visited the restaurant. When serving Wadjet, who is surrounded by many horrible rumors, all shop assistants were pretty nervous for fear of making any mistakes. Only one person behaved exactly as usual. That is the concierge Aurora. She treated Wadjet like a common guest. Ignoring her stern-faced father and colleagues, Aurora held back a yawn, handed Wadjet the tea and menu, and began to introduce the chef's selected dishes of the day. Not only were the shop assistants stunned, but even Wadjet was surprised. A few seconds later, Wadjet laughed and said happily, ''She's good. I like her.'' That's not a mere compliment. After that, Wadjet visited the restaurant several times. Even after people secretly told her about the horrors of Wadjet, Aurora remained indifferent and never changed her attitude towards Wadjet. What the staff in the restaurant don't know is that from the first moment she saw Aurora, Wadjet discovered Aurora's excellent ability. On the day of dining in the restaurant, Wadjet privately invited Aurora to do things for her. Of course, it's also possible that the innocent Aurora, who is quite different from those around her, aroused Wadjet's interest. Aurora is lazy, but not dull. After realizing Wadjet had no ill will towards her, she readily accepted the proposal. To tell the truth, the increase in workload bothers Aurora a lot, but the price offered by Wadjet is too tempting. As long as Aurora endures for a while and completes the secret mission, she may be able to spend the rest of her life leisurely at home. Aurora's goal is to stay at home and live a retired life of eating and sleeping. In order to achieve her ultimate life goal, the simple and lazy Aurora accepted this rather dangerous short-term mission. |
Regina | 19 | 6/6 | 167 | 55kg | Middle-woman, tourist, thief, swindler, modern-day Robin Hood, antique collector... Regina switches between her numerous identities with incredible ease. For her, names and identities are nothing more than tools of disguise to achieve goals. Living incognito and self-protection have become her second nature. She almost never exposes herself unless absolutely necessary, and she has a custom-made lock on her door to cut her off from the world. Born in a slum, she is obsessive in her pursuit of money and a better life. Meanwhile, she detests exploitation and bullying and would punish those who commit them in her own way—which usually involves a big scam or making a huge sum of money disappear. She can't do that without her dozens of false identities and a wide network of contacts and hideouts. After she joined Teslovik, it's intelligence department had tried many times to recruit her, but she had no interest, because in her own words, ''a fixed identity is a prison.'' [I dreamt of a life where I could go to school, graduate, get a nice job, meet my better half, build a family, and in the end, leave the world surrounded by people I love. But reality is a far cry from that—all it ever did is teach me how to abandon my dream and survive. I may have bid farewell to my dream, but at least I can help others make theirs come true. That said, I have no intention of being a martyr. Rather, I'm going to enjoy every second of my life, in my own way.] |
Hemetto | 26 | 7/23 | 165 | 56kg | Hemetto possesses unparalleled foresight, but she lost her eyes as she tried to divine the fate of the Ancient One. The Ancient One with great power directly changed Hemetto's fate and effortlessly altered the future Hemetto predicted for herself. Since then, Hemetto has set herself a rule not to peep into the fate of the Ancient One. The reason is that she is afraid that next time she will lose her life. No matter how many times Hemetto divines, she can never see the bright future that once belonged to her. The blind and beautiful diviner is waiting for the person who is more powerful than the Ancient One to come to her. Hemetto is firmly convinced that person can modify her fate and future again. Hemetto does have the ability to predict, but she pays the price of being played by fate. During the civil war, Hemetto was driven out of the village and forced to live in seclusion in the mountains because she predicted that Horus would unify Nebu. After that, she was targeted by careerists who tried to use her prescience. Hemetto, who was weak and blind, couldn't resist at all. Wadjet rescued Hemetto from her misery. At that time, Hemetto foretold that she would be persecuted by wicked bandits and she was desperate. The arrival of Wadjet swept away all her despair. Hemetto regards Wadjet as the one who will save her from her fate and presumes that Wadjet possesses the power to change the future she has foreseen. After all, even Hemetto can't foretell the future of this talented lady. Therefore, Hemetto decides to stay with Wadjet to admire the powerful Celestial at a close distance. Hemetto is unsociable and her social phobia is exacerbated by the hardships of blindness and exile. She was tired of being involved in disputes due to her prescience. After living in seclusion, she stops divining the fate of the Ancient One and even refuses to divine the world situation. While avoiding contacting people other than Wadjet, Hemetto continues to divine for ordinary villagers. Hemetto doesn't charge after divining for the poor, so she is honored as the ''Saint of the Desert'' by local residents. Some people even worship her. But she doesn't do this out of good will. Apart from divination, Hemetto has no other hobbies or specialties. Meeting others and divining for them is just a way to change her monotonous daily life. Even when she stays with Wadjet, Hemetto's fate keeps moving forward according to her predicted trajectory. So she can't help but lament. ''I can't do anything except divination. Is it really possible that my future will be altered...?'' After bemoaning, Hemetto begins to look forward to another person appearing one day to create a new future for her. |
Babs | 23 | 7/23 | 160 | 54kg | Babs lost her parents because of the war when she was a child. She spent her days fighting in the streets, and by accident she discovered her talent for combat. After reaching an adult age, Babs becomes famous in the fighting world and is dubbed as the ''Lioness of Nebu''. So far, she hasn't lost a single fight. Her talent and fighting spirit are considered to be demonic (a compliment). Babs is interested in everything related to fighting. She proactively participates in theoretical studies and physical training as she believes they are beneficial to her growth. She dreams to compete in all of the world's fighting tournaments and make a fortune while proving her prowess to the people. Before losing her parents due to the war, Babs lived a relatively cozy life. She was born with a mischievous personality and often sneaked into the downtown area without telling her parents. With her innate fighting instincts, Babs wantonly picked on the children and even adults she targeted. After fighting, she returned home with bruises and got scolded by her parents. In fact, her misdeeds at that time annoyed her neighbors a lot. Thanks to her modest and polite parents who sincerely apologized to the neighbors, Babs was not severely punished. As the war spread, however, everything changed. People who lost their homes and jobs were no longer tolerant of the naughty Babs. She was finally reduced to a situation where she had to fight tooth and nail to barely survive. After that, she realized how favored she was and how petty and powerless she is today. This experience made Babs detest poverty. Poverty caused the loss of her parents' selfless love and led Babs to realize her weakness. However, as the saying goes, good fortune follows upon disaster; disaster lurks within good fortune. When Babs saw gangsters robbing food one day, she stepped forward and repelled them. In her opinion, this is no different from previous brawls. However, she felt a sense of accomplishment and excitement that she had never experienced when she was thanked and praised by the people. People also realized Babs' great strength and nicknamed her as the ''Lioness of Nebu''. Babs' dream is to make a lot of money with her fighting skills. Her purpose of earning money is to provide a shelter for the children who are in similar situations like her, so that they can live a better life. |
Baphomet | 17 | 12/14 | 147 | 37kg | Born into a noble family known for its ancient bloodline and arrogant character, she was raised on the principles of aristocracy. And so, when her talent began to show, her family got her to join the Inquisition. After joining the Inquisition at a tender age, she grew accustomed to the killing and cruelty that unfolded there. When she came dangerously close to losing her humanity, her teacher, Nightingale, intervened and brought her back to her senses. Through all this Baphomet grew reliant on Nightingale. But when Nightingale left the Inquisition, Baphomet released her inner demon and led the Inquisition down a more horrible path. Her mind grew colder and colder until it had only one thought left: to exact revenge on Nightingale for abandoning her. A careful diagnosis later showed that what Baphomet went through in the Inquisition gave her a serious case of PTSD and paranoia, which cause her to often wake up from nightmares in the middle of the night. After Nightingale showed up that day, Baphomet started reflecting on her own actions as well as Nightingale's expectations of her, and she became confused. She left the Inquisition and after a period of rest regained her cheerfulness from before she joined the Inquisition and became more down-to-earth. Up until now, Baphomet's life has been dictated by her family and her duties. After going through the two upheavals in life, her naive side and her desire to connect with people begin to emerge. |
Deena | 13 | 5/2 | 141 | 34kg | Treated as a shop mascot, she is cute and likable when she is quiet, but as soon as she opens her mouth to speak, her true colors begin to show. She is loved and hated in equal measures. Deena's parents were very concerned about this and sent her to a noble school to learn discipline. But it didn't work, and she became more troublesome than ever. Eventually, she had a fight with her parents and then left to travel. Deena's family is rich and she herself has a mind for business, so every time she gets into trouble, she can almost always easily smooth things out with money. In fact, that's how most of her pocket money is spent, which dwarfs her travel expenses. Deena looks at everything with kindness, but she is not good with words and can come off as rude sometimes. As a result, she often ends up messing up things she sets out to fix, leading people to doubt her intentions. Deena sometimes wonders why must things always go wrong. When she does that, she buys herself meat or dessert to make her forget her troubles. |
Stara | 20 | 2/17 | 161 | 48kg | Stara is a cheerful and vivacious girl, always beaming like a star. When she keeps quiet, she is easily the most likable person in the world. And yet for all her nice qualities, anyone who ever took the initiative to approach her remembers only one thing about her: her sharp tongue. She once made someone cry with her vicious words. She apologized afterward, but her ''victim'' demanded an explanation. She explained in a resigned manner that it was an ingrained habit too deep-rooted to be changed. Stara used to be the best glass designer outside Eastrise. She treasured every piece of her work, but unfortunately glass products were fragile and had a hard time surviving war and calamities. As a consequence, her artwork shop had always been in the red. This caused the fuse of her temper to get shorter every day—she had taken to mocking customers that didn't appreciate her works, which further worsened her business. It was a vicious cycle. Despite her tough exterior, she had a heart as fragile as the glass she made. After she depleted all her savings, she closed the shop and left. It was by chance that Stara joined Teslovik. After closing down her shop, she began to travel in search of a location untouched by war to reopen her business. The single-minded search took her beyond the borders of Eastrise, past the Empire, and to a land of snow where she saw a city under construction. At the time, Teslovik existed only in a file on the office desk of a Bifrost leader and had few members. Stara took a liking to this secluded swath of land and applied for membership. Unsurprisingly, Fenriru welcomed her with open arms. |
Nightingale | 21 | 5/22 | 165 | 54kg | For Nightingale, the Church has been her home for as long as she can remember. As a child, after finishing her chores, she would sit on the steps of the Church's side door in her over-washed old clothes, eating nuts while listening in silence to the beautiful singing of the choir. One time, when the Church was empty, she opened her mouth to sing, trying to imitate what she heard—she sounded like an angel, even though no one had ever taught her how to sing. The Church soon discovered her talent and recruited her into the choir. However, she was more talented as a fighter—and was very good at controlling her emotions. For that reason, she was secretly recruited into the Inquisition, and in a matter of years, she became the Chief Inquisitor. But the stress of living a double identity had been gnawing at her. Eventually she left the Inquisition and Church at Guinevere's persuasion and set out to redeem the sins she committed at the Inquisition's behest. The sound of singing represents hope. It's the first ray of light that pierces through the darkness, the beacon that illuminates the meaning of existence. Nightingale bases her perception of the world on the traces of emotions she detects in the sound of singing. |
Niz | ??? | 7/29 | 172 | 60kg | Niz may not come off as the talkative type, but she has given more than a few public speeches. Every time she finishes a speech, she takes a few questions from the audience and then quickly leaves without saying anything unnecessary. Her days in the army gave her a decisive and impersonal aura. Under her leadership, Bifrost Industries has become a powerful well-oiled machine that gets things done. For Niz, the name Mahiru was often heard throughout her childhood. Back when the Joint Council was still a united whole, Niz's father, a member of the council, was killed in a political conspiracy. Her colleague, Mahiru, who was unmarried at the time, adopted Niz and treated her as her own. She smothered Niz with love, giving her a happy childhood unaffected by her father's death. When Niz was 16, Mahiru asked her to go back to the Bifrost Industries. As baffled as Niz was, she respected her mother's decision and did as she was told. After that, she quickly grew from a delicate girl into the first queen the Bifrost Industries ever had. The next time she saw her mother was when she was assassinated. Interestingly enough, not long after that, Niz herself experienced an assassination attempt organized by Yulia, but she survived. In a sense, Raeon and Niz are sisters of the same mother, Mahiru. When Niz left Mahiru, Raeon was still little. After Mahiru died, Raeon did a few things that disgusted and shocked Niz. That's why Niz doesn't like Raeon. At important meetings, Raeon still calls Niz sister, but Niz only responds with a cold nod. During breaks, Niz sometimes takes out the picture of Raeon and looks at it thoughtfully. She marvels at her striking resemblance to Mahiru and thinks of the night before she returned to the Bifrost Industries: She and Raeon rested on Mahiru's lap amid the occasional sound of pinewood crackling in the fireplace; Mahiru stroked the hair of her girls, her eyes filled with sadness and affection. |
Kiki | ??? | 4/1 | 169 | 52kg | When Kiki was made the deputy of the Eastrise Codices Department, she had no prior experience working there. She only puts on a show of dedication when her boss comes to visit. Otherwise, she doesn't really do anything. Her laziness, which is known throughout the department, is explained by two reasons: the deputy of the department holds no actual power, and she is lazy by nature. Say what you will about her, but she's happy with where she is. Kiki is rarely called out for her lazy attitude toward work. One would think that the deputy of the Eastrise Codices Department is a high-ranking officer and shouldn't be loafing around all day. But the thing is, the whole department is controlled by Shiyu's family, and what Kiki does or doesn't do makes no difference. And that's exactly what Kiki wants—she hates the loads of busywork in the department. That's why she doesn't mind having no actual authority. Kiki's immediate superior is Raeon, the leader of Eastrise and the only person with the authority to appoint an outsider as the deputy of the Codices Department. Shiyu's family has controlled the department for a long time, so the appointment is unlikely to affect it in any way. Kiki is aware that she is only there to keep tabs on Shiyu, not to get involved in the department's operations. That's why she never does anything in her capacity as a deputy but always provides Raeon with exhaustive reports on Shiyu. Therefore, Kiki will continue to slack off on the job, and that will not change any time soon. |
Nephthys | ??? | 10/10 | 163 | 42kg | Goddess of Death on the Battlefield''. That's what people called Nephthys during the unification war of Nebu. As a valiant soldier under Nile's command, Nephthys is braver and more ruthless than anyone else on the battlefield. Suddenly one day, Nephthys disappeared. There were widespread rumors, but the truth was unknown. After the war ended, she became a widely circulated legend. Nephthys reappeared after the publication of several biographies about her. At first, people were delighted with her return, but this joy soon turned into doubt and incomprehension. Nephthys was covered by strange mechanical parts, and she lost her memory of the past. The huge contrast in appearance even triggered rumors questioning her as an impostor. All her confidants confirmed that she is the real Nephthys. What they recognized were her courage and loyalty to Nebu that remained intact even if she lost her memory. Nephthys didn't disappear in the war, but was badly wounded. A bomb exploded close to her and blew her away. Although medics rushed to the scene quickly, they found the fatal injuries were so severe that they were unable to rescue her. When the crowd was about to accept the tragic fact, Wadjet arrived and said ''give her to me''. Some people objected, but no one had any other way to save Nephthys' life at that moment. Finally, Wadjet's proposal was unanimously approved. Nephthys was sent out of the battlefield. As most of the people present at that time died in the battlefield, the details were unknown. After being treated by Wadjet, Nephthys survived. However, she was paralyzed and lost her memory. Seeing the disabled Nephthys who was still determined to fight, Wadjet drew up a plan: She would implant special mechanical fighting parts to replace Nephthys' lost body parts to enable her to fight for Nebu again. Nephthys agreed with that plan without any hesitation. Go fight.'' I opened my eyes at this order. Then I realized I was dreaming just now. I always have the same dream. I dream that several people came to talk to me after I was blown away. I can't remember their appearances. That's probably the last thing my previous self saw. Whenever I think of this memory, there are voices in my mind. ''Fight for Nebu'', ''Defeat the enemy'' and ''Swear to be loyal to Nile''... The owner of these voices must be the former me. After waking in my present body, these voices never stopped. It would be a lie if I said that I don't think they are noisy. However, even when I lost my memory, I keep making such cries. I must have been very, very stubborn in the past. At first, I couldn't understand the meaning of those words. As long as I act according to those cries, my heart will be filled with anger and ease. That's really incredible. My mission must be to fight to the end. Maybe this machine needs to be driven by anger or hate, and I'm just the fuel for it. That's fine. So long as I can fight for Nebu again, I will be satisfied. |
Taweret | 19 | 8/28 | 172 | 60kg | Taweret, one of the ''Demigods'' of the Nebu Alliance and the guard captain of Memphis, the alliance's capital. Her reckless ways and outsize weapons make her look like some simple-minded musclehead. But don't be deceived by her appearance, she is a ''Demigod'' after all. Taweret's love for workouts borders on obsession. She spends a lot of time on muscle training even though she is already very strong. Even on quiet occasions like combat meetings, she squeezes a hand grip on the sly, and the noise it makes has become an unbearable nuisance. According to an anonymous source, Taweret's passion for training could be an overcompensation for her poor health in childhood. Taweret's fighting style is reminiscent of a sandstorm, brutal and quick. She started fighting alongside her father when she was fifteen. Her prowess on the battlefield quickly became known far and wide. But then in the face of Horus's army, Taweret's father chose to surrender, forcing Taweret to lay down her weapon. Since then, Taweret has been itching to meet Horus in battle. |
Audrey | 19 | 5/4 | 164 | 58kg | Born into one of the three noble families of the Empire, Audrey is reputed as the ''shiniest pear of Augustine.'' Most of her family are high-ranking Church officers or city leaders. Growing up amidst them, Audrey was vivacious, authentic and generous, shielded from the suffering of the masses. The flip side of this was her strong curiosity about the world with all its perils and oddities. As she got older, Audrey woke up to the corruption of the powers that be and the suffering of people at the bottom of society. She shed her naivety but remains kind and generous, always ready to help those in need. She wants to do all she can to better the lives of the underprivileged. Innocent but not ignorant, kind but not without principles, humble but not weak—these virtues of Audrey are the silver lining in this dark world, bringing warmth and hope to the masses. Audrey's heart is even more beautiful than her face. Moreover, she has keen senses of vision and hearing, able to detect faint smells and see things in the dark. Her perception and memory are also unrivaled. Ever since she was a kid, Audrey has been studying and involved in every aspect of her family's operations—from small purchases that bear little consequence to political elections that shape the fate of the country. As she grew up, her charisma and her clout within the family and across the country grew too. Now she has become a famous figure that every faction seeks to ally with. Undistracted by the uninvited attention, she navigates the intricate network of factions with calm and ease. |
Beam | 23 | 7/7 | 160 | 49kg | She was born and raised in the Empire but somehow managed to stay free-spirited, unbound by religion. She cares about little else besides fashion. She is an iconic figure with a following across the various factions, constantly traveling between their territories. She runs multiple blogs about cosmetics, travel, fashion, gossip, etc. and she handles the operations and content in her spare time. Though she has no official position in the Church, Beam occupies a very high position in its hierarchy, being responsible for spreading the Heavenly Faith beyond the Empire's borders. As the tenets of her faith are not very sexy, she has decided to conceal that aspect of her identity and focus on building her public profile and contributing to the Empire in that way. That's how she tells it anyway. To everyone else, she just looks like a rebellious girl, obsessed with being a star, who steadfastly refuses to go home. Thanks to her raging popularity and her openness to business opportunities, Beam now has more endorsement deals under her belt than any celebrity in the world. As a result, her partner companies have to dedicate people and resources to protect her. Beam's popularity and wealth continue to snowball, and she has no intention to stop. Perhaps for her, wealth is just a byproduct of her deep-seated desire for attention. |
Mori | ??? | 6/30 | 176 | 62kg | Mori looks more like an ordinary technician than the president of the Bifrost worker union. Unlike Yulia who is talkative she tends to just gesture her actions. When Niz gives orders, Mori only responds by nodding or shaking her head. You would think someone who can't make powerful speeches is not fit to lead a union. But that's not the case with Mori. She has the kind of charisma that makes people automatically follow her. Mori's working-class identity is also reflected in her incredibly low standards for food and clothing. Before she got where she is today, she used to buy three sets of the same clothes to change between, and she only ate the cheapest meals she could find. One time, Yulia came over to Mori's place and found her thriftiness too much to bear, so she took Mori to shop for clothes. Since then, Yulia would take Mori and Niz shopping every month and it became a bit of a habit. When the trio climbed to positions powerful people found out about their habit and they stopped doing it. From then on, Mori got an assistant, at the insistence of Yulia, to take care of her basic necessities. The truth is, Mori always had a wall between her and Yulia—she was a bit repulsed by Yulia's talkative nature and devious mind. This is not helped by Yulia's excellent performance in both politics and battle, which only served to estrange her further from Mori. According to some writings, Mori... doesn't seem to think of herself as human. This might sound confusing, but if you ever spent time with her, you'd know that she did lack certain human emotions such as shame and fear. Some say it has to do with her background or her people, the Darhan Tribe, which is a mysterious group of mighty fighters who don't fit in with mainstream values. Influenced by Niz and Yulia, Mori has now learned a thing or two about politics and the ways of the world, but still she can't identify with them. She only concerns herself with three things: Bifrost's interest, Niz's opinions, and her own thoughts. If something meets all three criteria, she will not hesitate to do it, regardless of the backlash she may face from the public. Many people criticized Mori for her lack of political smarts, but the old social rules no longer apply in this new world. Mori may be a woman of few words, but she is a trail-blazing reformer. |
Sova | 17 | 4/23 | 164 | 52kg | Banks Port, the place Sova calls home, is the largest military port of Bifrost Industries. Back when Nebu invaded and occupied much of Augustine and Eastrise, and Bifrost Industries teetered on the brink of collapse, Banks Port, the only place not locked down at the time, became the silver lining. Thanks to its existence, large amounts of supplies could go around the locked-down Nebu and reached Bifrost, allowing the latter to mount a counterattack. The invasion may be over now, but Nebu has never stopped its infiltration of Banks Port, and that's what Sova had to live with growing up. Sova spent most of her childhood training. Her mother, a Banks Port leader who sat on a mountain of intel, didn't tolerate weakness in people around her, including her daughter. Sova's mother told her that she would be abandoned as soon as she became too much of a burden. If she wanted to be taken seriously by her mother, she had to be able to protect herself first. Sova received a compound bow from her mother, and thus began her long journey of training. During those years, she had no communication with her mother other than the monthly report on how well she did in school and on the hunting grounds. When Sova was 15, her mother was assassinated. Sova found her mother's will and a black list in her mother's computer. This little 'night owl', now freed from her cage, started showing the world her sharp claws: she killed all the thirteen people on the list with an arrow through the throat. When the higher-ups of the Bifrost military learned of this alarming event, they saw potential in Sova, granted her asylum, and sent her to be trained by Fenriru. Fenriru further unleashed Sova's potential and freed her from hatred. |
Shiyu | 25 | 10/11 | 167 | 53kg | When Raeon's mother took Shiyu to sit in on a political conference for the first time, people thought this seemingly reserved girl was some spoiled noblewoman sent to represent the noble house. But they couldn't be further from the truth: Shiyu was the last person the Suzaku clan would recommend as a candidate. Only half a year earlier, she was helping a Nebu tribe fight Horus just to find out how strong Horus is. Here's the clan's verdict on this unruly girl: rebellious, impertinent, rude, somewhat talented but arrogant. But for some reason, Raeon's mother saw something in her, giving her an important role to play in the revitalization of Eastrise. Shiyu has a special aura about her that allows her to easily blend in with scholars and military officers alike—she can easily talk about history but on the other hand she is also well versed in tactics. This special quality came from her life experiences. She was already a world trotter when she was a child. Her journey first took her to the borders of Eastrise and later to the territories of foreign factions. Over the years she worked countless jobs and encountered numerous perils. Through it all, she emerged reborn as the perfect human she is today. Shiyu's only shortcoming is her bluntness. She once lambasted Raeon for her ignorance, chastised Chiraha for her policies, and berated Firentia for her tactics. As for her own Suzaku clan, she doesn't even bother chewing them out anymore. Shiyu's tendency to run off at the mouth is well justified by her erudition and more importantly by her consummate [Alchemy skills]. It's rumored that Shiyu once lectured Firentia about her tactics, and Firentia became furious and challenged Shiyu to a duel. The two fought inside the Forbidden City for hours with neither side winning—that's how good Shiyu is. Her travel around the world gave her deep insight into Echo Crystals. After she dissected the [Alchemy] theory in an ancient Eastrise tome, she saw many redundant rituals and took the liberty of simplifying them. This triggered an [Alchemy] reform that took Eastrise people's understanding of Echo Crystals to a new level, prompting their widespread application among the general public. Raeon's teacher Pan Pan once invited Shiyu to the scholar alliance she founded. But Shiyu turned it down, saying that all of the alliance members combined were no intellectual match for her. This earned her the enmity of Pan Pan. |
Firentia | 22 | 2/6 | 165 | 64kg | Firentia's past is forever shrouded in mystery. No matter how deep you dig, you will get nothing on her besides discovering she was born in a border area between Eastrise and Nebu. This is not helped by the fact that this area has long been reduced to ruins and that she doesn't take kindly to prying. Therefore, even though she's been in Eastrise for a long time now, detective work about her has yielded little result. Everyone working alongside Firentia agrees that she's a downright fighting machine. Because of her merciless ways in battle and her moribund obsession with pursuing her targets, most Eastrise members are extremely wary of working with her. Even in her relaxed state, she has this dangerous aura that puts people on edge. Shiyu believes that this is all part of Firentia's defense mechanism that probably has its roots in her childhood. But Shiyu is not interested in prying—she only wishes to ensure Firentia is stable and under control. What's happening to me?'' ''You're dying, like an ant or a flower or anything on their way to death's door.'' ''Is there any way I can survive this?'' ''What do you have against death anyway? Death is an easy way out of this hellish battlefield.'' ''What are you talking about? This battlefield is like home to me. I can't sleep without the sound of bombardment,'' said Firentia, who was still a rank-and-file soldier at the time. A while back, a grenade detonated close to her, leaving a wound in her body. She tried to see who she was talking to, but the dried blood kept her from opening her eyes, and she could only see a blurry figure. ''You really are a devil.'' The figure smiled dryly. ''But perhaps only people like you dare to swing a blade at a god.'' Suddenly, Firentia felt that the caked blood on her eyelids had disappeared. She opened her eyes but saw nothing, and her pain was gone as if she was never wounded. ''Live and fight until this world is turned upside down, until your gun is pointed at the gods.'' That voice has been echoing in her head to this day. |
Wadjet | ??? | 11/18 | 168 | 55kg | Wadjet is the Celestial of the Golden Marsh Tribe and is known as the craziest and most dangerous woman of Nebu Alliance. Never let your guard down around her. She may have superpowers, but they came at a cost no one could bear. Wadjet is more than just a cruel ruler who kills without batting an eye—she is also the bona fide Celestial of the Golden Marsh Tribe. The tribe started out as a small group and grew into a powerful presence under Wadjet's leadership. Its power hasn't waned a bit to this day—even the factional-cleansing Horus tried taking the helm of the Nebu Alliance, but barely left a scratch on the Tribe. That's why the tribe has been lenient with Wadjet in its many attempts to retaliate against her. The tribe needs Wadjet, simple as that. Few bother to think about how Wadjet became what she is today. It's as if in their subconscious minds, Wadjet was born a brutal Celestial like some kind of mythological deity. But that's not the case—she was not born a deity. Before she became a Celestial, Wadjet was just an ordinary girl, though a brainy one. All she ever did was discover the loopholes in the Nebu Alliance's institution and calmly took advantage of them to achieve her own desire. |
Garula | 24 | 10/28 | 165 | 53kg | In the early days of the Scourge, the Nebu Alliance went through a chaotic period. Back then, the bond of morality unraveled, slavery rose its head, and the law of the jungle reigned. The repercussions of this change plunged the alliance into disorder. At its worst, everyone accepted slavery—they all detested it, but none stood up against it. That was until Garula, the ''slave liberator'', came along. Garula rose at a time when Nebu was engulfed in internal strife. Back then Nebu was hit with two problems, its second Northern Campaign failed spectacularly, and its leader stepped down. For the general masses, it was the darkest time they had ever had. But for the slaves, it was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to break their shackles. Garula was one of the slaves, but she was different in that she dedicated herself to freeing other slaves after she regained her freedom. She has persisted in her cause to this day. Garula has many achievements. The best known and most legendary of them is the emancipation of slaves. She united all the slaves of a tribe to overthrow the ruling class, abolishing slavery without sacrificing the tribe's economic development. Back then, Garula was the greatest of the greats in the eyes of every slave across the Nebu Alliance and was widely touted as the fittest person to lead the alliance. However, Garula had no interest in leadership. Having gone through the darkest of times, she was well aware that if she became the leader of Nebu, she would be caught in the maelstrom of tribal rivalry and would not be able to continue her cause. Garula will always be the liberator of slaves. She will not stop fighting until slavery becomes history. |
Gryph | 22 | 12/31 | 168 | 66kg | After witnessing her village massacred as a kid, Gryph set off to find the killer, starting life as a wandering beggar. At some point during her exile, she was rescued from squalor by Guinevere, the officiant at the time. Grateful for the kind act, she pledged herself to her savior's services. As she grew up, her combat talents were noticed, leading her to join the Holy Knights and take on the duty of guarding the Empire. Gryph was probably the most well-known member of the Holy Knights thanks to her short temper and her destructive fighting style. However, it has to be pointed out that Gryph accomplished her missions with flying colors every time. She was one of the most dedicated guards the Empire had ever known. When Guinevere left the Church, Gryph followed her and took over the combat side of things. Gryph stopped living when she was still a child—and she would spend the rest of her life waiting for what she desired, like a pile of firewood waiting for a spark of fire. She is loyal to the point of madness, but she is in no way a madwoman devoid of reason. |
Vivi | 18 | 6/18 | 165 | 55kg | Unlike other Cases, Vivi is a product of Project W born in the secret lab beneath the Cathedral—she's a Case through and through. Project W was an attempt to build a perfect Case with the bearing of an angel so that Augustine Empire could be the savior to end this calamity. Vivi is that perfect Case, though it'd be more accurate to call her the perfect victim. As a side effect of artificially-induced genetic variations, her body collapses from time to time. She needs regular care and maintenance to keep her from death's door. But regardless, the Empire did get what they wanted: In the eyes of the public, Vivi is the sacrosanct Holy Lady who is invincible in battle. Vivi's life is an endless cycle of receiving special care and being displayed like a trophy. She is told what to do and say and lives in a spotless, grandiose abode, quite like a bird kept in a glorious cage. But instead of loathing her life, she is gently at peace with it. Perhaps she has come to terms with the fact that some birds can fly and some simply can't. During a conflict with Eastrise, Vivi followed orders and flattened one of the enemy's strongholds with a single strike. It was a freezing winter day, and the snow quickly buried the rubble as if nothing happened there. The overexertion of power left Vivi vulnerable on the battlefield, but she was unfazed and just looked with confused eyes at Firentia, who was inches away from her. That was the first time Vivi used her power like that in public. |
Fenriru | ??? | 2/3 | 170 | 62kg | If Aiken is the absolute authority on biology, Fenriru is her counterpart in the fields of engineering and explosions. Fenriru knows about every abandoned factory in Bifrost Industries' premises as well as every possible method to blow them up. For her, explosions are the ultimate truth, and there's nothing more beautiful in the world than the chemical reactions leading up to an explosion. That's why she's been focusing on the study of Echo Crystals—she believes this fissionable substance holds the key to her next breakthrough. Fenriru's real name is Lyubov. The maternal vibe she emits in her daily life is related to the group experiences she had during childhood. She had a big family, with over 20 brothers and sisters. When their teacher wasn't there, she was the one responsible for the others. Til today, she can still remember each of their names. Their orphanage was far away from downtown, as it was previously renovated from a military building. Even after the renovations, there were many, many weapons left in the garage of their home. After disassembling them and removing the magazines, she would stitch clothes onto them and turn them into flags for the other children to play with. In the evenings, she would sneak defective grenades, testing their explosive effects further into the mountains. Thus, her siblings, before long, were lulled to sleep by the sound of explosions. They were thoughtful, as they knew the stress Lyubov was under from taking care of them, and pretended nothing out of the ordinary ever happened. Then the wolf horde came. Faithlings appeared at the outbreak of the Calamity. When people decided to crawl out from their basements, they believed they had already survived the rampage of the Crystal Storm. However, upon seeing huge snakes with eight heads or giant scorpions waving their venomous stingers around, their despair was born anew. Those beasts, known only from fairy tales, returned to the world again, frightening all with their grotesque bodies and gruesome power. One of those monsters was the gigantic wolf, Fenriru. At midnight, when the sound of wolves howling echoed through the mountains, Lyubov realized she and her siblings had no time to run. The children didn't have fitting shoes; How could they even consider the possibility of escaping the wolves? As the sound of howling grew closer and closer, the children began to break down. They had already attempted to contact the adults at the Joint Council, but they had no idea how long it would take for reinforcements to arrive. While the kids tried their hardest to remain silent, they couldn't help but scream when the wolf's huge body smashed into the door. As the children cried, Lyubov looked towards the garage. She could not be more familiar with its contents... A signal flare pierced through the sky like a shooting star, and the wolves stared at its bright light with apprehension. The explosives screeched as they flew toward the wolves. Each explosion spewed sparks and shrapnel that tore apart every wolf's flesh and blood. Lyubov was knocked to the ground due to her grenade launcher's strong recoil, but she struggled to get up as fast as she could, and continued to fire... a 2nd shot... a 3rd shot... Her gun was now empty. She switched to the mortar. After that had also run out, she continued her assault with regular grenades. The symphony of explosions gradually drowned out the sorrowful cries of the wolves. When the reinforcements of the Joint Council finally arrived, the wolves had already fled. Fenriru, the huge wolf, lay weak in the center of a shell crater, with half of his giant head completely blasted off. Lyubov sat on top of a pile of weapons, her finger repeatedly pulling the trigger of a grenade launcher that had already long run dry. After this, people began to call her Fenriru, the woman who slew the huge wolf and took its flesh and name as her own. |
Yulia | ??? | 4/15 | 165 | 55kg | Yulia used to be the third most powerful figure in Bifrost Industries but ended up being its most wanted criminal after her failed coup attempt. When Niz, whom Yulia tried to assassinate, caught her, she didn't have her executed right away; instead, she treated her better than she did any criminal—for old times' sake and for Yulia's talent. Compared to the loyal, pure-hearted Mori, Yulia seems more like the incarnation of Niz's dark side. Yulia had a special understanding of the human mind. This allowed her to come up with borderline brutal but extremely effective policies—it was like using a red-hot knife to cut off a limb too rotten to be cured by medicine. Other than that, she also helped Niz take care of her political rivals— she secretly cleansed anyone who questioned Niz's authority. This allowed Niz to use both carrots and sticks to keep her people in line. But that's all in the past. Now, as a prisoner, the only way Yulia can make herself heard is through anonymous editorials—and that's already a privilege granted by Niz. Yulia's wardens get changed nearly every three months. Those poor souls have one job and that's to bring Yulia her meals without making close contact with her. In order to prevent Yulia from taking her own life, Yulia's cell was designed to not be soundproof. But she uses this to her advantage, Yulia employs her gift of the gab to mess with the wardens' heads. Some of them fall in love with her, and some want to kill her. Their monthly psychological counseling does little to help, so they have to be rotated everyday. Yulia treats these wardens as her dolls and when a doll breaks, she gets a new one. |
Zawa | ??? | 12/12 | 172 | 58kg | Zawa holds the position as the watcher of the Eastrise Archives. Everything about her is a mystery: her age, her background, and even her connection to Eastrise. Her presence in Eastrise is traced back to at least 200 years ago. Back then she was already managing the Archives under the identity of ''Zawa.'' Every leader of Eastrise, as part of their coming-of-age ritual, must pay a visit to the Archives for a secret meeting with Zawa. Zawa never intends to keep the Archives' door shut to people, but anyone who wishes to step through that door has to pass a test. Different people will be given a different task and, upon passing it, will have access to different sections of the Archives, on the condition that abide by three rules set by Zawa: first, only come during opening hours of the Archives; second, return borrowed books before the due dates; third, do not make any noise while in the Archives. There were people who tried to force their way into the Archives without Zawa's consent, but they all failed and were barred from the Archives for life. Serious offenders were even sent straight to jail for severe punishment. Every once in a while, Zawa disappears from the Archives, sometimes even from Eastrise, to, in her own words, ''replenish the stock.'' When she gets back, the collection of books in the Archives grows and some books get revised. There is one book that is accessible to all visitors to the Archives, and that is her journal. It records her life details and random thoughts. Anyone who has read through the journal will receive a letter from Zawa asking them to be her pen pal. The next time she disappears, chances are she will show up at the door of one of her pen pals. |
Pan Pan | 19 | 10/1 | 158 | 50kg | Pan Pan is crazy about one thing: science. Otherwise, she is rational. The Case gene in her body gives her a laser focus and exceptional willpower, qualities that allow her to engage in tedious chores and study for long periods of time. A rare genius of Eastrise, Pan Pan is known for her intelligence as much as for her impersonal character. Upon graduating from the most esteemed learning institution in Eastrise at the age of 12, she joined the lab and got a doctorate in genetic engineering and materials science. After that, she stayed at Raeon's side to assist her in genetic modification work. Despite what she has accomplished in science, she refuses to rest on her laurels. For her, science is no longer just a job or hobby—it's become something essential to survival like air, food, and water. [I'm aware that my pursuit of science is bordering on fanatical, but that's just my Case gene. My laser focus has rewired my brain such that it has grown addicted to the gratification achieved through certain stimulations. In other words, I need to keep gaining new knowledge from scientific research in order to keep my dopamine flowing... But that's the life I chose and I don't regret it.] |
Horus | 25 | 12/25 | 165 | 52kg | The leader of the Nebu Alliance who lives up to her reputation, she rose to power when the alliance was at its darkest and single-handedly turned it around and brought it to a new height. Horus never considers herself special in any way. Since Nebu is governed by tribalism, it has no shortage of qualified leaders. In fact, Nebu has too many qualified leaders, which explains the infighting. What really sets Horus apart is her vision, or her ambition. She doesn't care about any individual tribes; she only cares about Nebu as a whole. Her goal is to win the hearts and minds of the Nebu people and make Nebu the dominator of the world. Anyone would agree that Horus is a lucky person. She is lucky in that from the dark age all the way to the unification of Nebu, she had been surrounded by people full of hope. After they helped Horus accomplish her cause and become the leader of Nebu, they left her and moved on to pursue their own ideals. But by then they had already become Horus's responsibility. If one day Horus grows tired of politics, she might fulfill her promise to those idealists. |
Set | 25 | 2/22 | 170 | 57kg | Set was witness to how proud and mighty the priests of the Nebu Alliance once were and how they have fallen. She knows how lofty they had been, and how miserable they are now. She cannot forgive the culprit who caused all this, and she will make all those who persecuted the priests pay the price. Set is the remnant of the old ways of priests in the shadow of the Nebu Alliance. The priests of old monopolized the interpretation of the faith for decades, and their influence on the Nebu Alliance has long been immeasurable. As Set's activities increased, the influence of the priests of the old era gradually converged on Set. She inherited the influence of the priests on fanatics of the faith. In the eyes of those devotees, only Set from the Land of Souls was the true priest, while the other priests were just a means for the people in power to fool the commoners. This influence could even allow Set to reproduce the strategies she had read about in war novels in reality, and for her to have the ability to exact revenge. The targets of Set's revenge are all those who persecuted the priests after the Second Northern Campaign, more specifically, the person called Nile, the former Nebu leader. She bound the priests to the Second Northern Campaign and pushed them to the front to suffer repercussions after the defeat. Nile herself did not participate in the persecution of the priests, but she was never really punished as the source of the incident. This made Set so very angry that she also held a grudge against Horus, who was trained by Nile. What gave Set additional pain is the fact that her once beloved sister Anubis is now standing by Horus's side. Anubis is the person who is most suited to be a priest, and in Set's eyes, Anubis is the salvation of the priests. But Set will not cease her revenge because of Anubis. She cannot turn back, and does not want to turn back. She only wants to make her enemies pay. ''Anubis, my dear sister, you will redeem all souls, and I will forever curse those who do not deserve redemption.'' |
Aiken | ??? | 9/13 | 166 | 52kg | A biologist working hard on secret Case modification experiments in Bifrost Industries. Instead of being deterred by the mountain of research files the company has accumulated, Aiken tackles them with passion and delight. She has a powerful and rigorous mind that allows her to run multiple complex experiments with ease. Not a social person to begin with, Aiken became downright withdrawn after she started working in the lab. She often spends weeks cooped up within its walls. If she needs something, she just hollers through the comms. The lab's hallway constantly reverberates with Aiken's voice asking her assistant when her breakfast will arrive. That said, Aiken is not an aloof person. In fact, according to her assistant, she can be quiet talkative, capable of babbling on from morning to midnight. That's just how she is—wayward and absorbed in her own world. But according to her former colleague Yulia, Aiken was less of a wacko back when they worked together. She was not very talkative, but other than that, she was pretty normal. That changed when the Thanet conflict broke out and the Empire's army attacked Yulia's lab, causing both girls life to take a sharp turn. One of them went into politics, and the other became a completely different person. But it's thanks to this change that they both met their kindred spirits. Just like Yulia encountered Niz, Aiken crossed paths with the more eccentric Fenriru. The two hit it off because of their shared obsession with science, and together they founded Teslovik. |
Raeon | ??? | 7/6 | 159 | 47kg | Genetically enhanced based on the concept of an ''Ultimate Human,'' Raeon has the ability to manipulate dragon veins. She can control Case powers without needing any physical modifications, and she is blessed with Conceptual Veins—something that makes her invulnerable to attacks using magic less powerful than her own. Meanwhile, as an artificial being, she possesses Fate Forger, a Conceptual ability that passively shapes her own fate and the reality around her. As a member of the ruling family of Eastrise, Raeon has inherited the modified genes of the previous generation. Her family conducts experiments on its own members against their will for continuous enhancement of their genes. Due to its immoral nature, this practice is only known among the noble houses of Eastrise. The public is kept in the dark about it. The Raeon you see right now is not in what she refers to as her ''perfect state''. Rather, spiritually, she seems more like in her teenage or growth stage, where her perception of things is not yet fixed and she makes decisions as she goes along. At this moment, she still has a mind of her own, not yet injected with the data containing the thoughts of the previous rulers. In conclusion, she is not yet an ''Ultimate Human'' born out of a perfect theory— she is the ''Embryo of the Saint.'' |
Shalltear | ??? | ??? | The Bloody Valkyrie, Shalltear Bloodfallen, is the Floor Guardian of the first to third floors in the Great Tomb of Nazarick, who has the strongest overall power among all the guardians of the Great Tomb. She came to Noneuia due to an accident. Shalltear has the appearance of a fourteen-year-old girl. Described as a true beauty, she has pale shiny skin, silver hair, and cute facial features. Shalltear Bloodfallen is a charismatic character created by one of the Forty-One Supreme Beings, Peroroncino. She has impeccable beauty and matchless power. Due to her absolute perfection, she is cursed with [Blood Frenzy] as her class trait. Shalltear is a true vampire. Under the effect of [Blood Frenzy], the more blood Shalltear's body is covered in, she will lose more control of her mind, revealing a terrifying vampire appearance, and becoming unable to hold back her urge to slaughter. After coming to Noneuia, Shalltear caused some disturbances in search of other people from Nazarick, which drew Rasparta's attention. The air in Noneuia is filled with Echo Crystal particles, which has drastically reduced the range of Shalltear's magic attacks. However, this effect is minimal for her, because close combat is the fighting style she's best at. Shalltear effortlessly defeated the troops of Rasparta and heard from the remaining soldiers about Albedo's location. Soon after, people from Teslovik found Shalltear. Shalltear also reunited with Albedo and found a way back to Nazarick with her.
Albedo | ??? | ??? | The Pure-White Devil, Albedo, is the Overseer of the Guardians in the Great Tomb of Nazarick. Nobody in Nazarick can rival her administrative ability. She serves as Ainz Ooal Gown's capable assistant and supervises the Great Tomb for him when he goes outside. She came to Noneuia due to an accident. An impeccable beauty, Albedo is a female devil with black hair and wings. She always wears a white dress, and a gentle smile on her face. Succubus is widely considered an impure race. Despite her nature as a succubus, Albedo remains pure due to her deep affection for Ainz Ooal Gown, the lord of the Great Tomb of Nazarick. After arriving at Noneuia, Albedo ran into Wadjet, the Celestial of the Golden Marsh Tribe. Because the air in Noneuia is filled with Echo Crystal particles, the range of Albedo's magic attacks has been drastically decreased, which caused Albedo's misjudgment of Wadjet's combat ability. After learning Wadjet serves an organization named Rasparta, and there are over ten other members like Wadjet, Albedo decided to work with her. After knowing the existence of Albedo, several official members with code names came to the Golden Marsh Tribe. However, this meeting ended unpleasantly. Rasparta intended to learn more about the world that Albedo is from, yet Albedo showed no respect for Rasparta, and the Supreme Being was displeased as well. Therefore, another battle broke out between the two parties. Through this fight, Albedo came to a full understanding of Echo Crystal's power. After correcting her misjudgment, Albedo easily broke out of Rasparta's attack and chose Teslovik, Rasparta's rival, as her new partner. With the help of Teslovik, Albedo reunited with Shalltear Bloodfallen, another guardian. Together, they found a way back to the Great Tomb of Nazarick.
Apriel | ??? | ??? | No doubt, Apriel loves nothing more than joy and happiness every day. She likes to play, joke around, and have fun with those around her. She truly follows her whims. When she thinks of something fun, she does it immediately. Sometimes things get out of hand and she suffers. Apriel loves this unpredictable feeling, and she doesn't care about the outcome. Most of the time, her childhood friend Olivia scolds her, but Apriel always laughs and refuses to reflect. She's accustomed to Olivia's earnest scolding, finding the scolding itself ''fun.'' ''It's not fun without Olivia's lectures!'' In her interactions with others, Apriel always acts sincerely and follows her heart. For those she wants to get close to, she expresses her affection openly and engages in physical contact without caring about others criticizing her for being reckless. In her view, it doesn't matter what people around her think; not conveying her goodwill would be the most disadvantageous thing of all. Because she acts on impulse all the time, Francisca often calls her a ''fool.'' Despite being called a fool, her heart is full of ideas on how to make herself and others laugh. To turn her ideas into reality, Apriel will never easily give up. However, be careful. When she encounters troublesome things that she doesn't find interesting, she runs faster than anyone! In fact, Apriel wasn't always so lively. A little-known fact is that her parents are not her biological parents; they found her and raised her. To this day, she doesn't know who her biological parents are. Therefore, Apriel was quite introverted in her early years, not fond of talking and not good at interacting with others. She would even be troubled by the large number of strangers who visited the inn run by her adoptive parents every day. It wasn't until Apriel met Olivia that things took a turn. In the flower-filled field where they met, the two similarly aged girls opened their hearts and became each other's most cherished and best friends. Because Olivia always worked hard and looked like she was struggling but still found ways to make herself happy, Apriel also began to think of ways to make Olivia happier. Slowly, Apriel learned many things and thought of many ways to amuse Olivia. Piling stones, telling jokes, trying new games together, catching butterflies... In this process, she gradually discovered how much fun pranks could be, and her personality became mischievous. Unknowingly, she was no longer the quiet, gloomy child she used to be. Thanks to her, Olivia also had many precious, occasionally relaxing, joyful moments. Growing up, they influenced and relied on each other, becoming irreplaceable best friends in each other's lives.
Levia | ??? | 6/28 | 172 | 61kg | The pope of the Augustine Church and the inheritor of Saint Peter, one of the three Holy Names, Levia is the kingpin of the Empire's religious apparatus, and she is very aware of that. She is constantly striving to strengthen people's faith and her grip on the Church. She is assertive in her authority and demands absolute loyalty from the Church. For a long time she had been pursuing Project W wholeheartedly, hoping to build the perfect humanoid weapon called Holy Mary so that the Church could be the messiah to end this calamity along with the crisis lurking behind it—which would make her the most powerful person second only to God. In the end, the project panned out and Vivi was born. Levia now uses Vivi as a powerful diplomatic tool. Meanwhile, she continues to put Vivi through secret experiments since Vivi is still not perfect enough for her. Levia never takes Guinevere and her followers seriously, seeing them merely as a bunch of treacherous rats waiting to be exterminated. Moreover, she never listens to what other Church leaders have to say, and she never relents in her ways. There was this girl who was born into an ordinary family of believers. She witnessed the Scourge wreak havoc on the world's economy and politics; she witnessed the collapse and reconstruction of world order; and she witnessed everything around her wither and die. After she lost everything, she wandered in the chaotic world for five years until she ''died'' and was reborn as a monster called Levia. |
Yora | 18 | 1/1 | 168 | 56kg | Years ago, Aiken's research into the activity of Echo Crystals caused a violent explosion at the foot of Mount Kamos. It created a bottomless underground cave called the Abyss, where powerful visions reflect the real world. Among all the visions, Aiken found a real girl—Yora, in her deep slumber in the depth of the dangerous Abyss. Creatures called [Faithlings] appeared all over the world after the Calamity broke out. [Faithlings] share many similarities with fabled creatures, such as frost horses, phoenixes, and unicorns. Therefore, powerful people tend to choose these dangerous [Faithlings] as their fusion sample. Mori, Shiyu, Audrey, and many other Cases have all used powerful [Faithlings]. However, Yora is not one of them. She is but a Case naturally born. Neither the divine ritual of Nebu nor the crystal technology of Bifrost has created such a perfect Case. Her genes are impeccably fused with crystals, rendering her whole body filled with beauty and power. As Aiken cautiously approached the young girl deep in sleep, all the visions in Abyss suddenly stopped moving, as if they were watching Aiken's every single move. The girl was still covered with snake scales. Aiken gently caressed that cold skin, and the strange warmth woke the girl up. For the first time in her life, she opened her eyes and saw Aiken's eyes that were tearing up in excitement. A word suddenly came out of her lung, even though she had never seen the outside world, let alone learned any language. ''Mama...'' The Abyss let out a gentle call to the mortal. Aiken adopted Yora. To protect her experiment subject, she takes care of Yora's daily life, teaches her knowledge, and even makes a snake-shaped Vibration Arm for her. Yora can study anything at an astonishingly fast speed, as if she's not learning something new but rather recalling knowledge she has already possessed. She is also known for her frigid personality, only showing her warm side to her mom, Aiken. She is a great warrior who always fights alone during missions, a knowledgeable scholar who has no common sense, and an obedient daughter yet holding arrogance toward the weak. Before Yora went on her first mission, only the core members of Bifrost were aware of her existence. All the newcomers of Teslovik are strictly forbidden to go near Aiken's lab, in case those dangerous objects there deal irreparable damage to them. |
Taisei | 17 | 7/12 | 164 | 49kg | There is an extraordinarily dazzling figure on the battlefield of Eastrise. She is like a relentless burning flame, galloping on every battlefield with her superior talent. She is Taisei... ''The places where Taisei passes will be unrecognizable.'' Anyone who knows the name of Taisei of Watchtower commented on her like that. What's on the mind of Taisei, a ''flame'' that devours everything? Is it anger? Is it madness? Or is it hunger and thirst? The name and power of Taisei are well known in Eastrise. ''Taisei is so simple that she can be very cruel,'' said Chiraha. ''Taisei never looks back, and that's why she is so terrifying,'' said Yanling. Even Firentia, the goddess of war, has heard the name of Taisei. ''I'm afraid no one else can interest me except her. Moreover, I'm sure of one thing: If I battle with her, we'll fight to the death.'' It seems that as the goddess of war of Eastrise, Firentia can see the nature of Taisei more clearly than others. In the past, there was an unknown lady in Eastrise. She lost her parents when she was a child and grew up alone. At that time, such tragedies were common. In fact, separations between relatives were commonplace. This nameless lady never lamented the injustice of fate, but chose to fight fiercely. She knew lamenting was a waste of time. She never stopped using her innate and unparalleled fighting ability. She understood the weak had no choice but to die. The lady who can burn everything to ashes was dubbed ''Taisei'' at some point. After each battle, she will be surrounded by a new group of people. She is the only one who is fighting with burning anger and endless madness. That's her longing for the forgotten name and the lost love. |
Ifurito | 26 | 7/28 | 176 | 65kg | Ifurito is the chief of the Kasi Tribe, one of the major tribes of the Nebu Alliance. Ifurito, who has been worshipped as a goddess since she was born and revered and loved by her people, never doubts that she is correct. She believes that the significance of her existence is to respond to the awe and respect from her believers. Her unkempt appearance often misleads people from other tribes into thinking she is a terrifying dictator, which is the biggest misunderstanding. Ifurito simply loathes falsehood and hypocrisy, and strives to implement her principles without compromise. Ifurito is the Goddess of Flames who uses fire magic. Ifurito is the chief of her tribe. Although she is on an equal footing with Wadjet, Ifurito doesn't have the ambition to control the Nebu Alliance. She devotes all her energy to the Kasi Tribe, hoping that her people can live a happy and prosperous life. Yet for Wadjet or Horus, Ifurito's great power has to be guarded against. The reason is that, whether it is contrary to her will or not, a single move by Ifurito may instantly tilt the fragile balance within the Nebu Alliance. Wadjet tried to invite Ifurito to join Rasparta, but she was flatly rejected. As a result, the angry Wadjet regards Ifurito as her enemy and targets the people of the Kasi Tribe. The fact that some of Ifurito's people went missing made Ifurito suddenly realize something was wrong. ''If the nest is overturned, no egg can stay unbroken.'' Ifurito, who understands that truth, decided to use the power of Horus. Everything Ifurito does is to prevent her people from being hurt by that vicious serpent. After each battle, she will be surrounded by a new group of people. She is the only one who is fighting with burning anger and endless madness. That's her longing for the forgotten name and the lost love. |
Guinevere | 25 | 9/21 | 168 | 60kg | Before the Echo Crystal Catastrophe devastated the world, the Church followed the orders of Augustus and built numerous shelters known as 'Bird Cages' that eventually saved a large number of people during the disaster. Guinevere, once a Cardinal highly valued by Levia, was at the forefront of the Church's disaster relief efforts. However, after a brief respite, the frequency of minor Scourges in the Empire increased, and the Church was always unable to provide early warnings for these disasters. This led Guinevere to harbor deep doubts about her faith. Levia lacks the ability to hear the heavenly voice and is indifferent to the suffering of the people. She believes that calamities are also a tool to control the people, and as long as the Church can reasonably explain the calamities, it can maintain its rule. Guinevere could not accept such a Church. In her eyes, both the Augustus and the Calamity are detestable gods arbitrarily controlling the life and death of the people. Therefore, Guinevere eventually left the Church. She founded the God Eaters in the remote mountainous areas of the Empire, dedicated to the scientific observation of the Calamity, and to overthrow the incompetent rule of the Church. For a long time, the Empire has been ruled by the nobility and the Church. It is said that some of the oracles could hear the heavenly voice, but their character did not necessarily match their talent. Guinevere believes that in the apocalypse, Augustus is no longer a god to be worshiped, but an unknown threat without mercy, an entity that can be studied and overthrown. Humanity can only rebuild civilization with its own hands, and the Church is the biggest obstacle on the road to rebuilding Augustine. |
Vedfolnir | ??? | 1/23 | 173 | 58kg | Vedfolnir fully demonstrated the diligence and excellence of a hardworking woman, and she ascended into the bureaucratic tier of Bifrost at an unprecedented speed. On the other hand, her cunning and sharp tongue made people around her avoid her. This avoidance from others further intensified her disdain for humanity, creating a vicious cycle. Fortunately, her superior, Niz, the general of Bifrost, understood and valued her. Vedfolnir realized that although Niz and her seemed to be different types of people at first glance, they had many similarities upon closer inspection. The two, who wished they had met earlier, quickly became good friends. After becoming Niz's right-hand woman, Vedfolnir was once full of ambition, wanting to accomplish something significant. However, their close relationship was ruined due to disagreements over their strategy against Rasparta. Vedfolnir, who was the Minister of Defense, eventually submitted her resignation and parted ways with Niz. After that, Vedfolnir left Bifrost alone and started investigating Rasparta. This solitary battle lasted for several years, and unknowingly, it turned Vedfolnir into a person with a heart as hard as steel. Vedfolnir, having shed all shackles, chose a new battlefield for herself—the Dark Road, the most chaotic lawless area in Bifrost. The Dark Road is filled with the poor, gangs, and illegal transactions, which also brings Vedfolnir a wealth of precious intel from the underworld. Vedfolnir maintains order in the heart of the Dark Road while investigating the shadow of Rasparta in the undercurrents. |
Chiraha | ??? | 9/9 | 171 | 55kg | The Watchtower raised the banner of rebellion against Raeon's dictatorship and openly confronted the supreme ruler of Eastrise with armed forces. Chiraha, the leader of the Watchtower, was a minister of Raeon. Chiraha was suppressed and exiled simply because Raeon attempted to monopolize power. After this misfortune, Chiraha made a comeback without fear, and her courage attracted a large number of followers. The reason why the Watchtower can survive the harsh repression of Raeon is that it gains substantial assistance from the followers of Chiraha. Chiraha is an outstanding leader who is undaunted even in the face of adversity. She has led the Watchtower all the way to the present. At the same time, she enjoys a noble character and deep love for her country and people. Even confronting the enemies, Chiraha will never attack unless it is necessary; whenever she sees people who are suffering, Chiraha will help them without expecting anything in return. Her manner of doing things and her gorgeous appearance fascinate a lot of men. It is said that some men even gave up their own lives to support her, which also caused a lot of trouble. Chiraha used to be a subordinate of Mahiru, the former president of the Joint Council and the mother of Raeon. At that time, Chiraha was already a young talent and a member of the ruling class of the Joint Council; she directly accepted the education of Mahiru. Therefore, Chiraha has known Mahiru's daughter Raeon since childhood. Although the two are now sworn enemies, Chiraha still regards Raeon as a lovely sister. In Chiraha's view, although Raeon is talented and resourceful, she is still her mother's spoiled child. Raeon is even more dangerous, as she may easily go the wrong way because of a small issue. Chiraha secretly made a decision: If Raeon takes the wrong path, she must be able to correct her mistake. Raeon was bent on establishing an authoritarian system. After weighing the future of Eastrise and their childhood friendship, Chiraha finally decided to fight Raeon for Eastrise's future. In the final analysis, Chiraha's choice is for the sake of Raeon. After making the decision, Chiraha keeps her feelings for Raeon deep in her heart and never confides a single word to anyone. |
Anubis | 21 | 1/30 | 164 | 44kg | The priest is a unique profession in the Nebu Alliance, and also one of the few groups that can exist independently of the tribes. In the early days of the Scourge and the establishment of the Nebu Alliance, the priests monopolized the interpretation of faith, standing above all tribes. For priests, a transcendent status is not necessarily a good thing. The cornerstone formed by the people's faith was lifted high in times of peace, and fell hard after the failure of the Second Northern Campaign. Anubis has witnessed the decline of the priest profession, and now she is witnessing its resurgence. However, this time, she believes that the priests can have better options to choose from. Anubis is well aware of the history of the priests' decline. During the Northern Campaign, Nile, the former leader of the Nebu Alliance, used the recapture of the holy land as a reason and tied the priests to chariots. After the campaign's failure, she quickly abdicated, leaving the priests to bear the consequences of defeat. It was a challenging time for the priests. In just a few years, their numbers dropped significantly, and most of those who remained became slaves. Anubis's sister, overwhelmed by despair, disappeared, leaving young Anubis behind. Now, Anubis has forgiven those who fell into madness after the defeat, but the shadow of that era still lingers over her. With the help of Horus, Anubis has become the High Priest of the Nebu Alliance. Now she has enough time and energy to deal with the problems left by the priests of the past—The once Land of the Gods, Heliopolis, has become a ruin, her long lost sister who reappeared is seeking revenge on Nebu on behalf of the priests, and the most devout pilgrims are almost extinct... This is the path she has chosen, crossing the dark history, and moving towards the dawn that she and Horus have chosen together. |
Ziz | 21 | 7/28 | 176 | 50kg | Ziz is the head of the Norman family in Empire, and the elder sister of Rie and Knox. As the head of the family, Ziz took care of her two younger sisters and became a key minister of Levia as a representative of the family. While studying theology and history, Ziz discovered a profound truth: the Heavenly Voice had always selflessly illuminated humanity's path to the light. However, the Church, entrusted with spreading its message, frequently distorted and concealed it, driven by a thirst for power and selfish ambition. Ziz's goal was simple: to create a hopeful and gentle world for her sisters. To achieve this, she set out to uncover the truth of the Heavenly Voice and the world on her own. Disguised as a wanderer, Ziz joined Levia's Project W and secretly infiltrated Rasparta to gather information. Despite being with Rasparta, Ziz opposes their goal of destroying the world and rejects the God Eaters' harsh criticism of the Heavenly Voice. She believes the world needs understanding and tolerance—qualities lacking in the current leaders. To build that world, Ziz is determined to lead herself, becoming the perfect 'God' who embraces and belongs to everyone. To become a god, one must be able to make prophecies, so Ziz followed Banshee and obtained the ancient robot, the body of the divine voice, as the core of her puppet. To become a god, one must be able to manipulate people's hearts, so Ziz secretly manipulated Project W, intending to claim the results for herself when the plan succeeded. To become a god, one must abandon selfish desires, so Ziz sought the truth on her journey, discarding her emotions and memories one by one. To become a god, one must have the power of believers. Ziz envisions a person who can embrace everything, execute the oracle, and lead the future world. The Awakener is the king she has chosen. |
Hera | 17 | 2/7 | 160 | 44kg | Better to seek a judge than to touch the Grim Reaper.' The 'Grim Reaper' is a forbidden figure in Dark Road. She is the creator of the current order in Dark Road, and also the most dangerous criminal there. Initially, the Dark Road was just the final cry of people who were unwilling to remain silent in the face of the darkness of history, which was trying to submerge them. They could only struggle as much as possible. The appearance of Hera changed everything. She sealed all the undisclosed history of Dark Road, brought chaotic order to the Dark Road by any means necessary. Since then, the Dark Road became a shadow under the rule of Bifrost, and whenever someone had nowhere else to go, they remembered that there was a place in the dark where anyone could find shelter. Dark Road is a forsaken city, and those who live in the Dark Road are often abandoned by the society. The girl remembers being abandoned by her family. People said it was during the toughest time of the Joint Council, but the girl had no impression of it. All she remembered was the cold and the warm embrace she received in the heavy snow, which was as warm as the sun. The one who saved the girl was General Mori of Bifrost, a warm time the girl would never forget. Mori took care of her like a sister. Every effort she made earned praise from those around her. Her adaptability to Case technology was unparalleled and seemed unreal. But then, the dream shattered. The infallible Case technology failed her. Seconds after becoming a Case, the girl lost all vital signs. Resurrection doesn't necessarily mean getting a new life. The girl lost all vital signs for over twelve hours after the Case operation. When she woke up, she found herself back in the familiar snowy landscape, as if everything that had happened before was just a fantasy before she froze to death. 'But it wasn't a fantasy, and you've been abandoned again.' A dark voice resonated within the girl, full of hatred and danger. She heard it clearly, and it was her own voice. The snow and the wind no longer made the girl feel cold, and her resonance with the Echo Crystal allowed her to hear the voices of the deceased. Without a doubt, the girl had become a Case, someone who had died and been reborn! She could even hear the voice of her deceased self. Since the voice of resentment belonged to the deceased girl, who was the resurrected girl? The vengeful spirit completely abandoned her old name and called herself 'Specter,' while she referred to the resurrected girl as 'Hera.' She said it wasn't a rebirth, but an escape from the brink of death. |
Nue | 23 | 5/1 | 175 | 50kg | Although Nue is stubborn, she will accept well-founded opinions. Nue enjoys an excellent memory and can remember everything after seeing it once. Therefore, she knows the content of a lot of documents like the palm of her hand. Nue has her unique set of judgment standards. She speaks highly of Raeon, who is young but keeps fighting for realizing ideals. Nue's favorite word is ''work'' and considers laziness to be an original sin. Nue agrees that a proper balance between work and rest is necessary to ensure work efficiency, but she will get unhappy once the line in her mind is crossed. Therefore, Nue is quite critical of Kiki, who is lazy and in stark contrast to the diligent Raeon. Because of her strong abilities, Nue often assigns ''slightly'' excessive tasks to her subordinates. However, if she hears someone wailing ''I'm going to die of exhaustion,'' she will lend a hand or provide extra allowances and time off as compensation. Therefore, her subordinates respect and admire her. Although she has realized this problem and tried to correct it, when it comes to work, she adopts high standards and strict requirements for both herself and her companions. As a result, she always ends up annoyed and muttering, ''Why can't I change this...''. It is because of this personality that she is greatly troubled by Kiki, who refuses to work seriously and is always trying to figure out how to make Kiki focus on work. Unfortunately, she hasn't been able to come up with any clever ideas so far, and her final conclusion is, ''It's a waste of precious time to think about this problem... It's faster for me to do it myself.'' Nue speaks highly of Raeon, who is making unremitting efforts to realize the future she depicts. Nue even considers assisting Raeon. Nue is addicted to work and likes those who work hard. However, she can't help feeling a little sad for Raeon. In Nue's opinion, Raeon is just a child. If possible, she hopes that Raeon can dress up like her peers to hang out with her friends. However, regardless of personal wishes, wrong reasons, or fate, Raeon became the supreme leader of Eastrise. Seeing Raeon doing her best for the country day after day, Nue doesn't speak her mind. Nue decides to aid Raeon to turn the future she wants into reality and free her from the heavy responsibility... Unconsciously, Raeon has become one of the reasons for Nue to work hard. |
Nile | ??? | 2/16 | 169 | 58kg | Nile's greatest hobby is to taste all delicious foods in the world: Nile likes to gulp down meat and drink, and share the feeling of ''eating delicious foods'' with others. Her single-minded pursuit of tasty foods interests people and makes them believe that she's not affected. Nile is especially good at encouraging others to follow her suit. Her true identity is the former commander-in-chief of the Nebu Alliance. When asked about her past, however, Nile will change the topic. If Nile encounters the above situation, she will answer, ''You care so much about me. I can't tell you more today, coz I'm gonna eat something delicious now. I'll talk about it next time.'' If someone mentions the name ''Nephthys'' to Nile, she will close her eyes and look a little sad. There is no doubt that this name is of special significance to Nile. If you ask questions about Nephthys, Nile will prevaricate with something else. Back then, Nile was the commander-in-chief of the Nebu Alliance, and Nephthys was the general at her side. Nile fully trusted Nephthys. The two worked together to keep the Nebu Alliance, which was plagued by strife and unrest, remain operational. However, Nile's irreplaceable partner suddenly disappeared, and Nile witnessed her becoming a weapon of Rasparta. That cruel fact pushed Nile to the brink of collapse. As a leader, Nile is undoubtedly excellent. Even so, the disappearance of her important partner, dissatisfaction from the public, and disputes with other countries dealt heavy blows to her... She is not strong enough to bear all these. Nile, who led the Nebu Alliance with her charisma, experienced two major setbacks. First, she was defeated during the Second Northern Campaign, which caused her to lose a lot of soldiers, including General Nephthys. Second, Nile was unable to shoulder the heavy responsibility of the leader of the defeated country; she was so traumatized and exhausted that she could no longer manage the Nebu Alliance. At that time, all the disappointed and frustrated people of the Nebu Alliance pointed their fingers at Nile. Before Horus took over, Nile had completely given up on herself, indulging in wine and food every day and night. While most people chose to blame her or look at her indifferently, one person decided to stay with Nile all the time. That person is Anubis. Nile is grateful to Anubis. It's Anubis who helped Nile get out of the abyss of self-abandonment. Now, Nile and Anubis are working together to assist Horus. Nile enjoys the wine and food freely and starts a new life in her own way. |
Cera | 19 | 11/29 | 166 | 53kg | Cera, stationed at the entrance of the cold underground passage leading to the Augustine Empire's Cathedral, diligently watches for any suspicious individuals approaching the sacred site. When soldiers or priests need to pass, she stands up with an impassive expression, allowing them through without engaging in small talk. Despite complaints about her unwelcoming demeanor, as Pope Levia's confidante, no one dares to cause trouble. Cera's exceptional martial skills also discourage any thoughts of violence. However, unknown to all, deep within Cera's heart lies a dormant young girl who once cried for help, even unbeknownst to herself. The first time Cera saw Levia dressed in a magnificent robe, the ragged girl thought of cutting off Levia's head while she slept. Levia, on the other hand, saw through Cera's background and her situation at the time, and even felt genuinely pleased by the hostility in Cera's eyes. Levia not only adopted Cera but also took her back to the Cathedral, talked to her, and provided her with clean, decent clothes, plenty of food, and a place to sleep. Facing the harsh reality at a young age, Cera had a strong will that even impressed Levia. However, she also found a small spiritual refuge in Levia's selfless care. To meet Levia's expectations, Cera constantly improved her strength. Although the Pope's favor attracted strong jealousy from others, Cera grew strong enough to silence them and made Levia feel at ease entrusting her with the task of guarding the secrets beneath the Cathedral. Cera's parents were well-known priests in the Empire, known for their selflessness and devotion to the people. However, that was just their public facade. As their only daughter, Cera witnessed her parents treating the people as pawns to manipulate and mock at the dinner table every day. Her parents expected Cera to be a perfect daughter, and any deviation from their wishes would result in severe punishment. Cera, with her innate intelligence, vaguely realized that she was nothing more than a pawn to her parents, and they never showed her any concern beyond that of a chess piece. Gradually driven to the brink of collapse by her parents, Cera began to see becoming the manipulator of pawns as her goal. When her parents were assassinated due to a power struggle, she finally made up her mind to become a ruthless chess player who would stop at nothing and bring despair to others, as she felt utterly hopeless about her own life falling apart. Although her encounter with Levia prevented Cera from completely losing her humanity, the worldview imprinted during her childhood still imprisons and torments her soul to this day. |
Ratatoskr | ??? | 4/25 | 147 | 41kg | Ratatoskr, formerly the Deputy Minister of the Bifrost Ministry of Defense, currently serves as an intelligence officer within the intelligence division and acts as the Bifrost liaison for Teslovik affairs. Following Teslovik's independence, she has been instrumental in supplying Teslovik with numerous vital Bio-Chips. Despite her notorious reputation for being unscrupulous and harboring grudges against many of Bifrost's elite, Ratatoskr's exceptional abilities render her an irreplaceable asset. Her unparalleled skills ensure that she constantly occupies critical positions, highlighting how indispensable she is despite her contentious methods. Among the Bio-Chips controlled by Ratatoskr, there are two types of people she cannot control and dislikes. One type is the foolish, who always mess up things that should never go wrong with a logic that Ratatoskr cannot understand. This behavior significantly increases Ratatoskr's workload. She is committed to doing her best at her job, but she does not actually like her job, and she despises repeatedly performing simple and meaningless tasks to cover up for their mistakes. The other type is Alina, a former subordinate of Ratatoskr. Compared to the foolish Bio-Chips, Alina is undoubtedly smarter. She doesn't mess up her tasks, but she never fails to mentally torment Ratatoskr in spite of completing what she asks of her. Fortunately, there is only one Alina, and Ratatoskr chooses to stay away from this woman who causes her pain, taking great pains to avoid any contact with her. Ratatoskr's all about collecting Bio-Chips and feeling like she's in control of everything. It makes her feel super special and amps her up to give her all in whatever she's doing. If an action only achieves one goal, she sees it as a total flop. She's into multitasking like a pro, combining tasks to accomplish several things at once. And when it comes to reaching her goals, she's not picky about how she gets there—bribery, threats, even torture are all fair game. As long as she gets what she wants, she's cool with it. |
Toph | 22 | 12/21 | 168 | 53kg | Take people as a mirror and history as a lesson. For this well-known proverb, Toph, a historian and librarian of Nebu, has a different opinion. She argues that what matters are the phenomena themselves, such as wars, rebellions, and systems, while the stories of individuals are just embellishments in the long scroll of history. The reason for such an indifferent viewpoint is that Toph is looking at the issue from a holistic perspective. Toph has provided Nebu with many technologies she developed herself, but she has never boasted about it to others. In her view, no matter who developed the technology and by what means, the most important thing is the technology itself. Toph doesn't have a clear faith, which is quite rare in Nebu. If she has to choose one, she would choose to believe in the history itself that has overcome infectious diseases, poverty, and various problems. However, this doesn't mean that she belittles human life. Toph believes that, in the final analysis, history could not have been created without the existence of ''people''. Perhaps, Toph might believe in the potential of ''people'' more than anyone else. Recently, Toph has been engrossed in a particular study. That is, the Book of Falco, which records the oracles of the gods. The Book of Falco is circulated throughout Nebu, with varying wording and forms of record. Books related to the Book of Falco are diverse, including history books, folklore documents, enlightenment books, and even personal diaries. Traces of it can be found in all kinds of literary genres. Toph began to ponder a question - even if the original whereabouts are unknown, why does everyone still believe it is the oracle from the gods? What exactly is the Book of Falco? After a long period of verification, Toph finally proposed a hypothesis that even she found surprising. At that moment, Toph realized that the gears within her had started to turn. |
Rie | 19 | 9/12 | 167 | 49kg | Rie, like Nyla, is an orphan born during the Calamity and was adopted by the Normans, a noble family in the Empire. The Augustine Empire has a long-standing tradition of fostering daughters. Rie grew up with the sisters of the Norman family, Ziz and Knox, and receiving strict religious and military education. Ziz, the new head of the family, is often absent due to undisclosed work, and her sister Knox is not interested in the family affairs, and only wants to become a rock singer. Therefore, Rie took on the political responsibilities of the family and joined the central armed Gospel Troop of the Church. She served as Levia's attendant, and became the new Grand Commander of the Gospel Troop after Senko resigned. Rie is deeply grateful to the Norman family, so to her, family is more important than anything. For this reason, she gave up her hobbies and devoted herself to the work of the army and the Church, hoping to bring glory to her family with her efforts. And to lighten the burden for Ziz and Knox. In Levia's eyes, Rie is a good child who follows orders. It's both reliable and safe to have her in charge of the army. Unlike the Crusaders, the Gospel Troop doesn't need to do the dirty work for Levia. All Rie needs to do is to maintain the brave and noble appearance of the troop, which is enough to make the public worship... and fear! Influenced by the Norman family's education, Rie has a deep love for music. When Rie was young, she studied classical music with Knox. The lively Knox grew up to be a rock singer, while Rie, due to her work, buried her passion deep within her heart. When she was alone, Rie would put on her headphones and enjoy the pop songs performed by Dorothy and Knox. To her, the sound of her sister's guitar is the greatest motivation for her to endure the dogma and discipline, and to fight for her family. |
Brown | 22 | 8/9 | 168 | 50kg | In Eastrise, there's a jack-of-all-trades shop called the Yorozuya, handling everything from lost items to escorting national dignitaries. The young and beautiful owner, Brown, possesses an aura of mature grace. Her welcoming smile masks her ability to politely decline advances. Beyond shop requests, she discreetly listens to personal matters, often acting as a therapist for those who can't reveal their identity. Attempted kidnappings to extract client information have resulted in fatal consequences. As a result, nobody dares to challenge this generous and elegant girl. Even Eastrise's ministers and nobles regard her with newfound respect. Unlike someone destined to carry the Dragon Orchid and achieve greatness, she was just a product of genetic experimentation. As a result of this plan, she gained extraordinary intelligence and abilities. Escaping the research institute, she adopted the name Brown and immersed herself in Eastrise's black market, concealing her past. Meeting her needs through commissions, seeking protection when necessary, and eliminating disasters for a price, she established her own haven, the ''Yorozuya.'' With no concern for morality, wealth, or relationships, everything was just a means to pass the time. Until one day, a man wearing a mask appeared before her. Boredom consumes the girl's existence. Living in this monotonous world solely to avoid boredom, she takes on mundane tasks. She tries countless endeavors, but nothing excites her—food, luxury goods, sports, helping others, saving others, or even killing. Just as she grows tired of ''living,'' ''destruction'' seeks her out, igniting genuine excitement within Brown. If the world is to be destroyed, all things ''boring'' will vanish. Let her guiding ability be the harbinger of this destructive beginning. |
Banshee | 15 | 1/29 | 157 | 40kg | In the uninhabited mountains, if you encounter a strange girl carrying a coffin, do not be afraid. Banshee is not a deathly siren, but a passionate adventurer. Her childhood experiences have made Banshee fearless of death, and the Ghosts around her are always ready to protect the safety of this symbiote. Banshee, originally named Morrigan, was born into a normal family in the mountainous region of the Empire. As the aftermath of the Calamity continued to strike the Empire, the 'Bird Cage' facility that protected the believers was destroyed, and Morrigan's family was infected with the Crystal Disease. In the apocalypse, only those who underwent the Draw surgery to become Cases could survive. Morrigan's parents donated all their savings to the church to perform a Draw surgery on Morrigan using a bird as the sample creature. However, the surgery was unsuccessful, and Morrigan's body could no longer withstand another Draw surgery. After her parents passed away, Morrigan, who was in the refugee camp, met Audrey who came to provide relief. Although Audrey was heartbroken for Morrigan, she could not reverse the impending death of Morrigan. To fulfill Morrigan's wish, Audrey sponsored her to travel to the far east, to Long Summer Island for her final journey. In the final moments of Morrigan's life, the soul priest Anubis recited prayers for the dying at her bedside and accidentally discovered a mourning Banshee. The Banshee's wish was to protect the souls of the deceased from being devoured by the ancient gods. Morrigan's fearless spirit moved her, so she connected the dying girl with the unfinished wish of the Ghost, and they jointly became a new Case, named Banshee. |
Lumin | ??? | 2/28 | 156 | 43kg | There was once a young girl who, by chance, accepted the inheritance of an immortal crane. She obtained an infinite lifespan that mortals could never imagine and knowledge passed down to her. However, every gift comes with a price. She lost her past and became a nameless immortal. Then Thousands of years passed. The young girl's appearance was still the same, yet the world had completely changed. It was at this time that the girl met her very first penpal, the only one who could understand her existence, Zawa. In her letter, Zawa gave the girl a new name—Lumin. Lumin took Zawa's advice and settled in Eastrise. To kill her spare time and simultaneously make some money, she would showcase her unparalleled dance moves on the stage after drinking. Thus, she is called the Immortal Dancer. While enjoying people's praise and admiration, she also generously shares her dancing techniques with the world and even takes on a few apprentices. After learning about Teslovik from her penpal, Lumin grows a new interest. Teslovik is full of anomalies that she has never experienced in her life, whether it's the girl sealed inside a crystal or the unique being who can lead other Cases. Since her old friend has already been involved, it's only natural for her to pay some attention to it. Lumin thinks maybe she is the very first Case naturally born in this world. The creature giving her its life and granting her such power likely was a Faithling that held kindness toward humans and had much sympathy for her. Maybe fate lets her live so she can witness every change in this world in replacement of that creature. Or maybe she is the creature itself but lost its past memories after turning into a human. Was it she who devoured the crane, or the crane that replaced her? |
Vera | ??? | 2/22 | 120 | 35kg | In Nebu Alliance, there is a group of people who are willing to give everything for their faith, and they are called pilgrims. These pilgrims are admired by those who possess a deep sense of devotion, and they also extend their care to the children of their fallen comrades. As an orphan of a pilgrim, Vera has been living under the care of others. In order to repay the care of those around her, young Vera is determined to become a strong adult like her guardian and protect everyone. Vera's guardian, Set, is a woman who commands respect and keeps others at a distance. Whenever Set appears by Vera's side, people lower their heads and bid farewell to Vera. Vera once tried to introduce Set to the adults who often took care of her, but they would only shake their heads and say to Vera, ''We know the priestess better than you do, Vera. Remember, Set is the only one you must never betray.'' Perhaps Vera was too well-protected to understand the meaning of betrayal. She only felt that under such an atmosphere, Set's increasingly distant figure seemed exceptionally tall and imposing. Vera occasionally envied those children who had parents, but she never showed such emotions in front of Set. Vera knew that Set, who had no expression, had lost her loved ones when she was young, just like her. Unconsciously, she had already caused a lot of trouble for Set and couldn't let Set be more troubled. One day, Vera met a terrifying woman with clear blue eyes like a snake, who brought the severely injured and unconscious Set. From that dangerous woman's mouth, Vera learned about the existence of Rasparta. The next day, Vera told Set that she wanted to join Rasparta, and Set was silent for a long time, contemplating Vera's request, yet she did not outright refuse. |
Eton | 17 | 6/1 | 162 | 51kg | Eton is the foster daughter of Dr. Aiken, the chief scientist of Bifrost. Due to her physical limitations, Eton needs constant care from Aiken. To lighten her load, Eton learned to operate experimental instruments and became Dr. Aiken's youngest research assistant. Eton was born with a weak body. To ensure her health, her parents joined Dr. Aiken's research team, hoping that Dr. Aiken's expertise could lead to a cure. Consequently, Eton spent most of her time in the lab. Tragically, her parents were killed in an accident related to the Abyss. Upon learning of this, Dr. Aiken, who was leading the Abyss research at the time, took it upon herself to raise Eton. Eton's parents really looked up to Dr. Aiken, and Eton ended up feeling the same. After Aiken adopted her, Eton's admiration turned into something almost unhealthy, and she became unwilling to get close to anyone else. Dr. Aiken, not really in touch with everyday life, didn't notice Eton's problems. Everything blew up after Aiken went missing. |
Dorothy | 12 | 3/26 | 145 | 38kg | A fan of everything dazzling and cute, I'm Dorothy the Bunny Idol. Nice to meet you all, fans.'' With her stunning beauty and cute personality, the 11-year-old girl Dorothy emerged out of nowhere to stardom and instantly garnered a lot of attention and fans. In the ensuing three months, she quickly became a fixture in the public eye with her top-notch performances and easygoing personality. Along with the rise in fame came a flurry of commercial contracts and further opportunities. Rather than being swept with the fame and fortune like a child who suddenly found herself in favor, Dorothy made careful trade-offs to slowly rise to the top of the world stage. In private, she would reveal to those closest to her the parts of herself that she usually hides on stage—a little narcissism, a natural tendency to play cute and vie for attention, and more than anything, a maturity that belies her age. People love how she shines on stage, and how authentic she is off the stage. But the odd thing is that she seems to be in constant competition with Beam. There was once a lonely, timid little girl who suffered unjustified bullying simply because of her special hair color and her lack of parents. In her misery, she wondered why she looked the way she did. Did her parents abandon her because of her appearance? Such questions haunted her until she saw on the other side of the screen, the short-haired girl who was confident, always smiling, and went by the name Beam. Beam answered her anonymous question with a big smile, which helped her make peace with herself. ''I think that everyone is different in their own ways, which is what makes us who we are. If anyone thinks such differences are wrong and out of place, then she must be a big idiot who has lost herself!'' From that moment on, she has found in Beam someone who she needs to catch up with and even wants to overtake. |
Winno | 22 | 8/4 | 166 | 48kg | Winno is the commander of the Eastrise special organization ''Luminary Guards.'' The Luminary Guards are responsible for security and intelligence tasks for Raeon directly, granting them a high status in Eastrise. Sil, Raven, Anina are all subordinates of Winno, and the affairs of the legal department and the military are often influenced by the Luminary Guards. Winno hails from the southern part of Eastrise, which is reflected in a slight accent in her speech. In the war against Nebu's second Northern Campaign, Raeon personally promoted Winno, who was organizing militia to defend her hometown. Winno possesses keen insight and agile skills, consistently identifying and avoiding risks swiftly. During the war, she protected Raeon at the frontline, boosting the morale of the Eastrise army. Following this, she rose through the ranks as Raeon's confidant, and the Luminary Guards were established by her for Raeon. Raeon's longstanding wish is to uncover the truth behind the assassination of her mother, Mahiru. As a trusted confidant, Winno was assigned this crucial mission, leading her to travel extensively. In her investigation, Winno uncovered the brutal reality hidden behind the Joint Council's Case experiments and the significant role played by Rasparta in the assassination. Winno is well aware that, compared to factions like the Watchtower, Rasparta is Raeon's greatest adversary. Given Teslovik's dedication to opposing Rasparta, Winno has always seen you as a natural ally. Unlike other Cases born in the post-apocalyptic world, Winno has a greater love for life. She is willing to sacrifice everything to protect her hometown and the world of resurgence that Raeon dreams of. |
Damonica | 23 | 2/14 | 173 | 64kg | Damonica is a high priest of Rasparta, known for her complex and unpredictable style. She wields absolute control over her subordinates, and her code name within Rasparta is Witch. Instead of preaching Rasparta's doctrine, she prefers to draw people in with her personal charm. As a result, her followers believe in Damonica more than the ancient gods. Born in Bifrost, Damonica and her sister Vika were adopted by the Joint Council after the Calamity. They took part in the early Case technology experiments conducted by the Council. Faced with the pressure of the Nebu invasion, the Council prioritized efficiency, resulting in many test subjects getting injured or killed. Young Damonica accepted her role as a test subject and supported the Council's actions, believing that without Case technology, the Council was like a lamb to the slaughter against the Nebu. Damonica was willing to accept her sacrifice in the experiment, but she couldn't tolerate a lack of results. As familiar faces disappeared one by one, and with hints from a Rasparta agent, she grew convinced that the Joint Council would never achieve a technology breakthrough. Staying there with her sister felt like waiting for death. To save her sister and companions, Damonica organized an assassination mission against Mahiru with other orphans. Despite the plan's numerous flaws, the assassination succeeded. After Mahiru's death, Damonica escaped from Bifrost and joined Rasparta, quickly becoming a favored research subject. Her biological sample underwent a terrifying mutation, transforming her into a deity beyond imagination. |
Ludmera | 18 | 11/14 | 164 | 47kg | A girl who is lazy, not articulate, and doesn't like physical activities. She acts on intuition, similar to a small animal. Being laid-back doesn't mean Ludmera isn't a good hunter. She carries out her missions with precision and doesn't let her usual laziness affect her work. Her hunting skills are on par with Sova of the Nova Squad. In order to improve her shooting skills and to compete with Sova, Ludmera tearfully left her family to join Teslovik. Ludmera hails from the Arctic Camp of Bifrost, which is located in the North Sea. The environment, even by Bifrost standards, is harsh. To survive in such harsh conditions, one can only rely on hunting the massive Faithlings, which has led to the weapons used throughout the Arctic Camp being of a larger caliber than usual. Ludmera has been hunting with this Anti-Material Rifle since she was a child, following the adults around. She once lay in a snow pit for a day and a night to ambush a Faithling. With her exceptional talent and patience, she quickly made a name for herself in the Arctic Camp, and it's hard to find a hunter who can aim more accurately than her. Ludmera and her sister lived together when they were young. During a hunting drill, Ludmera and her sister's team passed through a frozen river. Due to her sister's negligence, the ice suddenly cracked, and all the children, including Ludmera, fell into the water. In the icy and bone-chilling river, Ludmera experienced a cold that still haunts her to this day. In the end, Ludmera's sister rescued all the children one by one, but she herself remained forever under the ice. Since that incident, Ludmera has gradually become what she is now, usually lazy, fond of warm places, and never negligent when carrying out missions. |
Nyla | 21 | 5/2 | 165 | 52kg | Like other kids born in the Zone of Kaos, Nyla barely remembers anything about her early childhood. The only thing she remembers is that she fell to the ground in front of a magnificent building amidst hunger and coldness. When she woke up again, she saw a hot cup of ginger sugar water and a hot towel, which made her feel the joy of still being alive. From then on, she left her past behind and became one of the thousands adopted by an orphanage affiliated with the Victoria Family. Nyla somehow demonstrated the talent to control Echo Crystal and to make great judgments at a very young age. Her exceptional performance was secretly reported to the Victorian Family, and after a series of evaluations, she was identified by the then-family matriarch as a ''secret weapon'' to be cultivated. With gratitude and longing for the Victorian Family deep in her heart, Nyla accepted the appointment without hesitation and vowed to help the family with everything she could. Other than that, Nyla doesn't wish for anything else. The training was much harder than she previously imagined. It wasn't until then that Nyla came to realize how much hope the Victorian Family had pinned on her, and how suffocating the responsibilities she was supposed to take. She didn't give up, nor could she imagine what would happen if she disappointed the family. She just pushed herself to the limit. During the process, she became increasingly forbidding to the point of making it almost impossible for strangers to approach. At this time, a girl who concealed her identity began to visit her frequently and brought her handmade bentos. She ignored the girl at the beginning and even rejected her heartlessly, until she had to accept and open her heart with warmth. Gradually, Nyla became interested in who the girl really was. After investigation, however, she almost plunged into the abyss of despair. The girl turned out to be Audrey T. Victoria, the upcoming matriarch she was going to serve. That is to say, no matter how hard she tried, she would never be able to stand on an equal footing with that girl. When the training was over, it was time to officially meet her master. With mixed feelings, Nyla went to see Audrey. It took only a moment of silence before Nyla made up her mind to safeguard the matriarch even if it means working as a servant for her entire life. Just as Nyla was about to kneel down to show her respect as a servant, Audrey pulled Nyla directly into her arms. [Finally, we can officially meet each other, Sister Nyla.] Her words were so gentle that they easily broke the barrier in Nyla's heart. Then Audrey insisted on treating Nyla as a sworn sister and as such, officially including her as a member of the Victorian Family. From then on, the supposedly emotionless guard had become an elder sister who was stern and clumsy, but wholeheartedly concerned about Audrey. |
Kuri | 18 | 4/2 | 162 | 51kg | Kuri really likes her maid outfit. She has always been a naughty child, and aspires to the elegance and serenity exuded by an Eastrise-style maid. After years of fighting her nature to no avail, she finally became a maid at [Grace], the Yorozuya. However, becoming a maid didn't magically turn Kuri into an attentive and graceful person. She was still careless, breaking dishes now and then at the Yorozuya, which made her a little frustrated. Brown at the Yorozuya, however, was happy with Kuri. She had seen her fair share of maids who are serene and peaceful, but rarely did she come across a maid as enthusiastic and energetic as Kuri. She told Kuri to keep up this rare quality in her. Kuri treated Brown's words as teasing and began to get up earlier to practice holding dishes before daybreak… Since she had put on a maid's outfit, she had to behave like one. Finally, with the help of the maid outfit, Kuri has managed to overcome her carelessness and become an Eastrise-style maid in every sense of the phrase. Kuri believes the easiest way to get rid of garbage is to blow it up. After all, it's the most efficient way, and efficiency is everything to a maid. There are tons of things to do every day and if she doesn't get rid of the garbage quickly, she will be running late for her next task. As someone who is stubborn as a mule, she will stop at nothing to achieve her goal. At times like this, her three Fūris become the best helpers to assist her. Compared to other Cases, Jiu Maki seems to be exceptionally gifted. The three Fūris appeared by her side right after she became a Case, even though they were supposed to have fused with her body and ceased to exist. But this was apparently something Kuri wouldn't think about. She named her three Fūris after the characters in her favorite novels and movies—the dashing Zorro, the defiant and fearless Robin Hood, and the wild boy Mowgli. |
Akira | 17 | 7/3 | 166 | 45kg | While Shiyu, the powerful minister of Eastrise, is occupied with national affairs every day, Akira is the one who manages her exquisite private life and huge family property. Akira was only Shiyu's guard before, taking care of her personal affairs. One day, Shiyu completely broke down, tired of meeting endless guests at home. She left all the mess to the inexperienced Akira. But to everyone's surprise, Akira magically tamed all the guests with her timid personality. After all, no one wants to hurt this shy girl's feelings, who is clearly valued by Lady Shiyu. Since then, Akira has gradually taken over all the affairs in Shiyu's home. As a housekeeper, Akira can still be careless sometimes, but Shiyu sees and trusts her now as a real sister. Akira was taken home by Shiyu from Oriental Island when she was a child. She got lost in the mountain at six and was found by a villager seven days later. Soon, rumors about her being ''spirited away'' started to spread, causing her to be treated as an outlier by her parents and other villagers. One day, she ran into a traveler named Shiyu, who noticed that Akira had long become a Case. Shiyu held much sympathy for her after discovering her experience. Whereas for Akira, the encounter with this free lady gave her a particular yearning that she never had for life. As destiny called, the two quietly left the village together under cover of darkness one night. Akira and Shiyu have completely opposite personalities, but the two see each other as sisters. Shiyu is smart and carefree, yet Akira is quiet and serious. Akira once couldn't understand why a carefree person like Shiyu held such a strong sense of obligation toward Raeon, but Shiyu always answered her with a bitter smile. It's not just the cute empress that keeps driving Shiyu forward, but also people's suffering she has witnessed during her journey. If reality is too suffocating, she cannot ignore the pain just to live freely. The day Eastrise brings peace back to the world, Akira and Shiyu will once again embark on their journey of freedom. |
Nott | ??? | 4/20 | 142 | 41kg | Nott is a young girl who grew up in Dark Road and began to serve as a guide for Dark Road after she became sensible. The first guest Nott encountered was Vedfolnir, who had just resigned from the position of Minister of Defense. Under Nott's guidance, Vedfolnir fought with all the groups in Dark Road, big and small, until the master of Dark Road finally stopped her. The first meeting between Nott and Vedfolnir left a deep impression on each other. Afterwards, Vedfolnir chose to live in seclusion in Dark Road and took Nott in. Before encountering Vedfolnir, Nott had a sister who protected her. Nott's sister didn't want Nott to face the deceit and trickery in the Dark Road, and was always committed to getting Nott out of the Dark Road. Just to keep Nott from worrying, her sister never told her about these things. It was only after her sister passed away due to a mission that Nott learned about all this from others. Nott didn't want to hide her feelings and die abruptly in a mission like her sister. She would definitely speak out whatever was on her mind. Because of this, she was admired by Vedfolnir and became the most well-known guide in the Dark Road. The chaos and disorder of Dark Road leave a profound impression on every outsider who comes to Dark Road. Even when Vedfolnir arrives at Dark Road, the chaos and disorder do not disappear. The environment of Dark Road also has an impact on Nott. When Nott has conflicts with others, she will display her strength to protect herself and show a fierce expression to intimidate others. However, due to her appearance, her fierce expression will only appear cute most of the time. |
Lyra | 19 | 11/29 | 164 | 48kg | Lyra was born into a noble family in the Augustine Empire, with Cera as her twin sister. Despite the Empire being ravaged by the Calamity, their noble status ensured that they did not have to worry about basic necessities like food and clothing. However, their peaceful childhood quickly came to an end. As Levia began consolidating power, Lyra's family was targeted and their status declined. This event caused the sisters' paths to dramatically diverge. Cera was taken in by Levia as an attendant, while Lyra escaped with the remnants of her family, eventually ending up as a street child in the Empire's slums. Life in the slums was a trial by fire, and through it, Lyra transformed, becoming a skilled mercenary in the underground district. The new leader of the Campbell family, Mordred, a [Bastard], was born in the slums. She greatly admires Lyra's professional outlook and has secured a long-term contract with her at a steep price. Throughout the duration of the contract, the tasks assigned by Mordred always take precedence, and Lyra never disappoints when it comes to fulfilling these generously rewarded assignments. Regardless of how perilous the task is, Lyra will meticulously analyze the job at hand, then, in her calm voice, she'll utter her signature phrase: Pay extra. Lyra prefers working solo, be it on scouting, guarding, or combat missions, she always performs with utmost professionalism, never shying away from her responsibilities. Despite her seemingly distant demeanor, she longs for a genuine friend who will listen to her many stories. After all, for a mercenary who's lived through life-and-death situations and has built a reputation, finding a trustworthy companion is no easy feat. A friend who can stay safe and sound in turbulent times is even more of a rarity. |
Roxy | 22 | 8/8 | 176 | 62kg | After the sorcery reform in Eastrise, many sorcerers with unique perspectives emerged, and Roxy stands out as the most unusual. Her style is far from typical for a sorcerer. She's greedy, loves alcohol, and dislikes preaching. When she appears, she's either drinking or already drunk. Those who need her magic must tolerate her temperament, but whether sober or drunk, her spells are always reliable. Since the birth of [hexes], using them to achieve immortality has always been a hot topic, especially among the elderly in some ancient tribes, whose desire for life has surpassed everything. Roxy possesses the hexes that can grant regenerative abilities to others. Although it can't make people rejuvenate, it can at least make people live healthily for a few more years. The special hexes give Roxy confidence when facing people in need, and also give Roxy more opportunities to touch the secrets hidden among the Eastrise ancient tribes. When the only master of Eastrise implemented his will to clear internal obstacles, some families with special hexes were swept away as obstacles because their legacy was too backward and cruel. Some survivors were taken in by the ancient tribes, and then the elderly of the ancient tribes put them in front of Roxy as chips to extend their lives. Roxy accepted all these cruel and backward legacy hexes. She never minded having more things under her control, or rather, no matter what, as long as she had more things, she would feel happy. Roxy's secret technique has been sought after by many, but it comes with a price, which is derived from her own sample creature. As a child, Roxy abandoned the normal sample creature chosen for her by the Joint Council researcher and instead participated in a special experiment. In the lab, Roxy encountered eight severed snake heads that were still active. These heads all came from a Faithling that had eight heads and tails and could regenerate continuously. The person in charge of the experiment wanted to try using these snake heads as sample creatures for the operation, and Roxy agreed without hesitation. The experiment was successful, and Roxy gained powerful abilities using the Faithling as her sample creature. However, her sample creature was not complete, which meant that although her power was strong, it could not be restored. Since the fission of the Joint Council, Roxy has been looking for a way to fix her flaws. Finally, she heard a story about a sealed Orochi from a fan of an Empire singer. This story gave Roxy hope for healing her flaws. |
Sphinx | ??? | 12/20 | 170 | 59kg | As the producer of Sentinels, Sphinx has had a deep passion for games since she was a child, especially puzzle games. No matter how tough the levels, she's always quick to spot the clues and breeze through them in no time. The one thing that really stumps her, though, is probably people who just aren't good at games. Sphinx has another side to her, one that's even more dangerous. She's the high priest of Rasparta. Yet, as the head of the priesthood, she's never bothered to set rules for her labs. This is probably because to her, the only thing that matters is proving her theory. No matter what it takes, Sphinx's demands remain the same: flawless, successful results. Her theory is unshakable, and she'll go as far as modifying herself to prove it. Sphinx wakes up on the lab table again. Her skin sticks to the cold metal, her limbs tightly strapped down, and bright light pierces her eyes. But there's no pain, not even a hint of discomfort. She used herself to test the removal of biological pain, and just as expected, it worked. She's conducted experiments like this countless times, and whatever humanity was left in her was stripped away in the process. But Sphinx doesn't care. In fact, she doesn't need them at all. 'The experiment was a success. Let's start another one.' |
Mordred | 24 | 9/7 | 179 | 58kg | In the legends of the Empire, the Campbell family is said to be descendants of vampires—a chilling tale lent credibility by their intricate network of spies and mercenaries. Mordred, as the current head of the family, upholds all she has laboriously acquired with an iron fist. Mordred dabbles in both the underworld and high society. She prizes her connections among the common people, establishing a vast network of informants. Her involvement in trade and smuggling operations has amassed considerable wealth and power for her family. Mordred's illegitimate status was no secret within the family, yet the members still treated her with utmost respect. In the ancient Campbell family, faith and reputation were merely superficial decorations, while strength and contribution were the most valued aspects. After the Scourge, the Church gained the great power of Augustine, and in the doctrine, illegitimate children had no status. Therefore, Mordred had to be observant from a young age, striving and persevering to earn everything she deserved. As an illegitimate child, Mordred stepped onto the battlefield at a young age, fighting alongside comrades from the lower classes in the most dangerous frontiers. Mordred survived the battlefield, earning the recognition of her family and the companions with whom she shared life and death. In the most desperate moments on the battlefield, the young Holy Lady Vivi saved Mordred. From then on, Mordred regarded Vivi as the one she admired and whom she must protect. |
Lilith | 20 | 8/31 | 166 | 45kg | Lilith is a unique Case created by the Augustine Empire's Project Wonder. Anyone who comes into contact with Lilith falls into an illusion that is indistinguishable from reality. This power doesn't discriminate between friend and foe, and even Lilith herself is not immune. Unable to differentiate between reality and illusion, Lilith has a particular yearning for reality. Using illusions that are indistinguishable from reality, Lilith effortlessly escaped from the laboratory. Before departing, she reviewed her own experimental report. When ensnared by Lilith's illusion, individuals perceive her as their most beloved person, experiencing happiness due to her presence. It's noteworthy that if multiple people fall into the illusion simultaneously, the illusions they see are nearly identical, except for their unique perception of Lilith. Lilith came to realize that the affection, emotions, and even her appearance she witnessed were all illusions, intensifying her longing for genuine experiences, authentic emotions, and everything real. Lilith once had a happy family when she was young. In her memory, she was happy at that time. Relying on the memory of her family and happiness, Lilith survived the Project W laboratory despite losing her family and being severely eroded by the Echo Crystal. After escaping the laboratory, Lilith set out on a quest to find someone immune to her abilities, someone who could truly make her feel alive. And she did. |
Sharon | 23 | 11/2 | 183 | 69kg | The Nebu Alliance has many mercenaries, some from extinct tribes, others from prominent tribes. But among them, the Viper remains the most special one. As a mercenary, Sharon places little value on money or the tasks she's given. Her true enjoyment lies solely in combat and taking lives. Regardless of the many missions she's completed and the criticism she's faced, she remains indifferent to both. In Nebu, everyone knows about the infamous mercenary named [Viper]. Those involved in her missions either end up dead or badly hurt. Surprisingly, [Viper] seems more interested in causing chaos during missions than in getting paid. There are even stories of her turning down rewards just to attack her targets. That's why the big employers see [Viper] as the best choice - she always gets the job done, no matter what. As [Viper] completes more missions, people in the Nebu Alliance start talking about her. In this chaotic world, adults don't scare children with tales of the police anymore. 'The Viper is coming!' is what they opt for instead. Sharon is a special case developed by Wadjet using Rasparta's technology. She's powerful and fiercely loyal, making her one of Wadjet's most trusted subordinates. Unlike others, Sharon doesn't always stay by Wadjet's side; instead, she operates as a mercenary in Nebu. Thanks to Case technology, Sharon has an unusually strong desire for combat and physiological needs. However, she holds conservative views, believing that only mutual love and marriage can lead to a relationship beyond friendship. Therefore, Sharon follows Wadjet's guidance, using killing to suppress her desires and unleash her instincts. |
Ring | 18 | 8/8 | 166 | 40kg | In the forests of Eastrise, there are numerous shrines of various sizes, dedicated to the deities worshipped by the local people. After the Echo Crystal disaster, the vast majority of Eastrise's population relocated to the plains near the Mo Capital, resulting in the neglect and abandonment of these shrines. Ring has been fascinated by shrines and the customs of Miko since she was a child. She aspired to become a modern Miko and revive the traditional culture of Eastrise. Ring found the Cloudferry at the Thousand Ruins Mountain. She then began to devoutly restore the shrine. The custom of worshipping gods and immortals is no longer popular, and the Cloudferry remains deserted even after its renovation. The bored Ring discovered that there were excellent natural hot springs around the shrine, so she and the shrine's guardian, Kyubey, came up with a way to build a hot spring inn. Unexpectedly, Cloudferry became a famous hot spring resort far and near, and the shrine also became lively as a result. |
Kyubey | 19 | 12/19 | 168 | 44kg | One of the students of the Eastrise Swordsmanship General Instructor, Sil referred to her as the most talented girl. In Thousand Ruins Mountain, Kyubey encountered Ring, who wanted to become a shrine maiden and therefore bought an abandoned shrine. Under Ring's employment, Kyubey became the guardian of the shrine. Kyubey was once an orphan adopted by a prestigious family in Eastrise. She was arranged to learn swordsmanship to serve the family in the future. The feeling of holding a weapon and mastering power satisfied the young Kyubey immensely, and she quickly fell in love with swordsmanship. The prestigious family that adopted Kyubey later encountered an accident, and Kyubey became a free agent again. At that time, she was immersed in swordsmanship. In order to improve her skills, she apprenticed herself to the chief instructor of Eastrise's swordsmanship, Sil. Kyubey was filled with gratitude towards Sil. Barring any unforeseen circumstances, she believed she would remain a lifelong student by Sil's side. However, as Kyubey's swordsmanship became increasingly refined, more and more people came to visit Sil and Kyubey, hoping to recruit Kyubey to their side. Fearing interaction with too many people and the possibility of becoming mortal enemies with Sil's other students in the future, Kyubey declined all invitations, left Sil, and became a wandering samurai. |
Caroline | 22 | 3/3 | 169 | 49kg | Caroline, the curvy beast tamer, is the ringmaster of the Chimera Circus and the star that has brought worldwide fame to the troupe. On every performance night, the audience is enthralled by Caroline's swaying figure and exquisite skills - no matter what beast she faces, even the terrifying Hosts, Caroline can make them bow with her long whip. While watching her performance, every audience wishes they could be part of the show, begging for her sweet reward of the whip. Behind the stage lights, Caroline is also one of Rasparta's top executives, codenamed Thousand Faces. She's an early participant in the Host Program, managing to retain her humanity while gaining powers akin to a Host. Since the Chimera creature was created using beasts and spells, Caroline must regularly take medicine to manage her body's rejection and avoid fully becoming a Host. After Senko defected from Rasparta, Caroline was dispatched to the Empire to assist with Rasparta's secret operations there. Caroline doesn't genuinely like Rasparta, but she's compelled to pretend compliance and work for them because of the life-saving drugs they provide. However, she's deeply intrigued by the Teslovik Nova Squad, comprised of non-Cases, seeing it as a potential path to redemption. Spending time with Caroline is enchanting, but beware: if she misses her medication, your fate tonight could be either becoming her prey or one of her toys. |
Lindell | 25 | 1/12 | 173 | 65kg | Lindell is the current Minister of Defense for Bifrost, having served in Mori's army and was repeatedly promoted for her outstanding military achievements in the battle against Nebu. Unexpectedly, Lindell was appointed as the Minister of Defense after Vedfolnir stepped down. Lindell is cold-blooded and ruthless on the battlefield, but deep down, she is a thorough pacifist. Lindell has repeatedly expressed her fondness for Eastrise culture and her longing for the Joint Council era in public, and her appointment is also considered a signal of Bifrost's transformation in foreign policy. Lindell and the Awakener are from the same hometown, both born near the joint factory on the border of Bifrost. This place used to be the most frequent communication area between Bifrost and Eastrise. When Lindell was young, he once helped out at the orphanage where the Awakener lived, where he established a deep friendship with the Awakener. In order to protect these border children from the war, Lindell embarked on the path of joining the army. When he saw the Awakener again many years later, Lindell was amazed at the Awakener's growth and understood the difficulty of realizing the ideal of peace. After becoming the national administrator, Lindell did not devote herself to expanding armaments like her predecessors, but instead focused more on dialogue and communication with the military of other countries. For Lindell, the former Joint Council was an ideal she aspired to. Humanity had won the chance to survive after the Calamity through force, but only through unity and cooperation could the flame of civilization continue. After taking office, Lindell first embarked on an ice-breaking journey to Eastrise. She said, 'The ultimate responsibility of the Ministry of Defense is to protect the security of the country, and a peaceful environment is the foundation for the people to live and work in peace and contentment.' |
Daisy | 18 | 1/1 | 167 | 49kg | Daisy is a special Case created by the Augustine Empire's Project Wonder, with power called [Infinity]. Researchers call it [Infinite Loop] because it makes anything that interests Daisy to repeat endlessly. In an unexpected turn of events, Daisy left the prison where the Project Wonder test subjects were held. Not wanting to be controlled by the Church anymore, she destroyed many experiment records related to herself. Before becoming a subject of Project Wonder, Daisy was part of the Empire's nobility. She and her twin sister Morai were the family's pride and hope. Due to the long experiments, Daisy has forgotten many things, including her family name. However, she still remembers her twin sister Morai vividly. This isn't because of jealousy, pain, or resentment, but because during the [Infinite Loop], Daisy experienced intense loneliness, and her sister became her emotional support. Daisy had grown accustomed to solitude, and her sister, who once was her emotional pillar, had become less important to her. After escaping from the test subject prison, Daisy didn't look for her sister in the Empire. Instead, she left the Empire to travel the world. She hated staying in a place dominated by the Church. Although she was used to being alone, she didn't like it. During her travels, she searched for someone who could make her feel less lonely. If she found such a person, she would cling tightly to them and never let go. |
Zineda | ? | 1/1 | 166 | 60kg | Zineda is one of the founders of the Joint Council and the inventor of the Resonator Technology, also being among the first batch of artificial Cases in this generation. Although Zineda was forced to drop out of school due to the Echo Crystal disaster before graduation, her outstanding contribution to the optimization body technology has led people to willingly refer to her as Dr. Zineda. Zineda and Mahiru, as the initial initiators, established the Joint Council and created the first batch of Cases through experiments. Many subjects perished during the early trials, and Zineda suffered various design defects in her body. The heavy workload and psychological pressure caused her to rarely appear in public. After Mahiru's unexpected death, Zineda couldn't handle it anymore and resigned. She then vanished from the public view. Zineda and Mahiru built a beloved child care institution under the Joint Council. To the children, they were more like parents than caretakers. The cheerful Mahiru brought joy, while the serious Zineda was lovingly called 'father.' Even after retiring, Zineda opened her arms to orphans from all over. For the worn-down Zineda, memories of the past felt like a lifeline, and Mahiru and the kids had pretty much taken over her scientific research, becoming the whole point of her life. Now, as a new disaster approaches, Zineda faces a tough decision. |
Mochizuki Mitsuha | 20 | 3/3 | 163 | 55kg | Mochizuki Mitsuha is the last descendant of the ancient Mochizuki ninjas. Though having grown up with ninja teachings and relying on ninjutsu for survival, she dislikes these skills and does not plan to pass them on. 'The ninjutsu of the Mochizuki family will only bring misfortune. Its best ending is to be lost in my hands.' Mochizuki Mitsuha has two older sisters. The eldest is named Ichiha, and the second is named Hutaba. The three of them have an exceptionally good relationship, which is quite rare in the Mochizuki family where familial affection is almost non-existent. In the Mochizuki family, everyone, without exception, must undergo ninja training. After completing the training, they must independently complete a task at regular intervals or face punishment, even the head of the family is not exempted. Every member of the Mochizuki family is a competitor to each other, with conflicts even arising between mother and daughter. Ichiha despises the family rules. Unable to change her mother's mindset, she chose to change her two younger sisters... And of course, she succeeded. Sometimes, Mochizuki Mitsuha would think, if she and her two sisters were as cold-blooded as the other members of the Mochizuki family, she might not be so tormented now. The downfall of the Mochizuki family was like a joke made by the gods. They obtained a special Case Modification technology, and if it succeeded, the ninjas of the Mochizuki family would become everyone's nightmare. Of course, this technology carries risks. Among the entire Mochizuki family, only Mochizuki Mitsuha successfully underwent the modification. All the others died on the operating table. 'No, my sisters were successful. They merged with the Kamaitachi, which is why I was able to survive. I am Mitsuha, but also Ichiha, and Hutaba.' |
Rhaina | 24 | 3/4 | 167 | 61kg | Rhaina is a Major General at Bifrost Industries. She sees everything on the Noneuia continent as part of an ocean, with herself a pirate sailing through it. Rhaina is younger than Mori, another Major General, and while her personality sometimes annoys Mori, they have similar fighting styles and work together smoothly. Mori is very hopeful about Rhaina's future. Rhaina picks goals without much planning, often going for harder ones to stay motivated. Once she sets a goal, she gets serious and uses everything she has to achieve it. To Rhaina, life is like sailing on the ocean, with her ship able to go anywhere. As a pirate, she always makes sure her ship is headed in the right direction before setting off. She'll then sails until she reaches her destination. Rhaina's mother had always lived by the coast until the Scourge forced her to flee inland to Stoker, where she settled down. Rhaina, a girl, grew up listening to her mother's stories about the sea. Her tales painted the ocean as a place of fierce storms, terrifying creatures, navies, fearsome pirates, magical fruits, and hidden treasures. These stories fueled Rhaina's imagination, inspiring her to dream of becoming a pirate like those in her mother's tales. |
Knox | 18 | 10/9 | 160 | 45kg | Knox had an enviable happy childhood. With her beautiful appearance, prominent family background, and potential enough to be called a genius, everything seemed so perfect. Not to mention her two gentle and caring sisters, Ziz and Rie. As a member of the Norman family, Knox received strict court education from an early age, but the family's indulgence gave her the privilege to reject such constraints and freely explore her own interests. Thus, Knox fell in love with rock music, gradually distancing herself from her identity as a noble lady and embarking on her own singing career. Knox found a few like-minded friends and formed a rock band called MantiCore. Initially, MantiCore released their works online and immediately received the adoration of young people worldwide. With the sponsorship of a mysterious person, MantiCore held their first performance in the suburbs of the Augustine Empire. The people of the Augustine Empire craved rock music, a symbol of freedom and rebellion, more than other regions, so MantiCore quickly became popular. Knox soon began her unstoppable tour, and she used the most explosive live performances to give back to her fans who followed her. Knox believes that live performances are the soul of a rock band. She meticulously designs each performance to bring a completely different audio-visual experience to her fans. As such, the revenue situation and scheduling of MantiCore always leave her overwhelmed. MantiCore's expressiveness is unparalleled, and what Knox needs most is a careful and reliable band manager. |
Coretta | 18 | 12/13 | 164 | 56kg | Coretta is a Major of the Bifrost Strategy Department and is Mori's most trusted subordinate. As Mori's advisor, Coretta is known for her solid planning and execution skills. Whenever she receives an order, she breaks it down, creates a plan, and carries it out in the most efficient way possible. She firmly believes that success is built on careful planning, and that rushing in without a plan isn't bravery, but reckless behavior. Rather than seeing Coretta as just a subordinate, Mori considers her more like a sister, likely due to Coretta's personality. In certain ways, the two complement each other, especially when it comes to communication. Mori is reserved and rarely expresses her thoughts, but Coretta always seems to know exactly what she's thinking. Sometimes, Coretta's blunt honesty even calls out the flaws in Mori's plans, leaving the others feeling awkward. However, Mori appreciates this straightforward approach and views it as an efficient way to work. Over time, Coretta has truly become like a sister to her. After Mori was injured in the battle with Vedfolnir, Niz reactivated Yulia. Although Coretta didn't understand why Niz enlisted this top criminal of Bifrost, as Mori's representative, she obeyed the arrangement. On the surface, she handled affairs for Mori, but in reality, she was following Yulia's command. During this process, Coretta was also surprised by the way Yulia handled problems. Unlike Mori, her brutal style of doing things was not easy to accept, but the results were quite efficient. To some extent, this was the same as the conclusion Coretta pursued, which made her appreciate Yulia more. While assisting Yulia, she executed orders in a different way from the past and received almost perfect reviews. Perhaps even Coretta herself didn't realize that under Yulia's influence, something seemed to be quietly changing. |
Tomie | ??? | 3/19 | 162 | ??? | Tomie was unearthed alongside the Dragon Orchid, a discovery shrouded in the utmost secrecy by Eastrise. When Tomie emerged into the light with the Dragon Orchid, she awoke from her slumber. However, her lack of modern knowledge made communication challenging. Even the mighty Raeon of Eastrise finds the girl difficult to handle. Raeon, who was constantly helped by her elders during her own youth, always disliked being pampered. Now, after acquiring Tomie, she faces the same challenge her mother did: how to turn a prodigious yet naive child into someone reliable. Tomie possesses an insatiable appetite for gourmet food, with a craving as boundless as a bottomless pit. She remains unsatisfied until she encounters true delicacies. To satisfy Tomie's appetite, Raeon had her servants take Tomie throughout the mountains and rivers of Eastrise. As she embarks on her quest for exceptional cuisine, Tomie begins to understand and fall in love with this vibrant world. She realizes that food isn't just about flavor, but also a reflection of culinary mastery, and a way to pass down the spirit and history of humanity. |
Hathor | 25 | 5/14 | 167 | 46kg | Hathor is a court musician in the Nebu Alliance, which is unusual because the Nebu people had never had a court musician before. The position was created specifically for Hathor by Horus. 'This is Horus' punishment for me. She knows I hate performing!' Hathor exudes an air of freedom and mystery. Always wearing a smile, she doesn't come off as threatening. She roams the Nebu palace like a specter, a behavior that's both risky and suspicious, yet Horus has never punished her for it. In fact, she even permits Hathor to interrupt her meals and playfully pinch her cheeks, much to Bastet's annoyance. 'Life's too long to be dull. You've got to spice things up to keep going. That's just my two cents from personal experience.' If history is a discipline for historians, then for Hathor, history is merely a collection of past facts. Her experiences haven't been pleasant and aren't worth mentioning. She's more focused on the future than dwelling on the past. Humans keep repeating historical mistakes, but there are always new people who give Hathor's long life purposes, making her journey through civilizations meaningful. 'I'm a witness, here to observe the great moments.' |
Elie MacDowell | 19 | 164 | ??? | Elie is the granddaughter of the mayor of MacDowell City, the representative of the Crossbell State. Always aspiring to become a politician, she studied abroad to develop her political views and broaden her perspective. After returning to Crossbell, she joined the police force to gain practical experience. She excelled in both the written exam and shooting test, which quickly proved her skills. After joining the Special Support Section, Elie put her knowledge of politics, economics, and social dynamics to good use. Following the Church incident, she supported her grandfather, who had become the Speaker of the Crossbell Diet, in his work. She traveled to neighboring countries and later reunited with the Special Support Section. She stopped Mariabell's plans and managed to bring Kloe back. Later, when Crossbell was under Erebonian occupation, Elie took part in rescue missions. Elie was deeply concerned about the distorted state of Crossbell, which was caught between the influence of two major powers. She hoped working in law enforcement would give her a perspective different from that of politics. After witnessing her grandfather's misfortune, she briefly considered returning to politics but ultimately chose to confront Crossbell's reality head-on as a police officer.
Rixia Mao | 18 | 12/20 | 159 | ??? | On the surface, Rixia Mao seemed like just a talented newcomer to Arc en Ciel, known for her incredible agility and impressive jumps. But her real identity was the legendary assassin Yin, a notorious figure from the East Street of Calvard. Born into a family of assassins with a long legacy, Rixia inherited the title of Yin from her father. She came to Crossbell after making a deal with Heiyue, a group trying to take control of the underworld. While preparing for her work as Yin and checking out the situation in Crossbell, Rixia happened to pass by Arc en Ciel. There, she caught the attention of the superstar Ilya, who was holding a public rehearsal. Impressed by Rixia's skills, Ilya boldly invited her to join the troupe. At first, Rixia joined just to keep her identity hidden, but over time, she couldn't help but get drawn to the magic of the stage. She even started looking up to Ilya, who dazzled everyone with her brilliance. 'Be your own Yin!' Those words from her father stuck with Rixia and pushed her to figure out her own path. After meeting the people of Crossbell, she made a choice: she wasn't going to be the legendary assassin anymore. She was going to live as an actress in Arc en Ciel. After the battle at the Azure Tree, in a theater taken over by the Erebonian Empire, she stepped back onto the stage and brought hope to the people of Crossbell. |
Renne | ??? | 143 | ??? | As a child, Renne was abducted by the D∴G Cult and taken to a place known as Paradise, where she endured inhumane experiments and severe abuse. During an operation by Uroboros, she was rescued and brought into the organization. Renne displayed exceptional talent and quickly mastered any skill she attempted, which earned her the reputation of a prodigy. Uroboros developed a humanoid weapon, Pater-Mater, which proved impossible for any other candidate to control without risking mental collapse. Renne, however, managed to wield it effortlessly. Renne was appointed as Ouroboros's Enforcer No. XV, the [Angel of Slaughter], and took part in the Liberl events. During this time, she met Estelle and others who would become her friends. Estelle urged Renne to leave Ouroboros and offered to welcome her as part of her own family. Though deeply moved, Renne remained burdened by her inner turmoil. Unable to fully resolve her feelings, she wandered alone through various places after the incident and eventually returned to her hometown of Crossbell. Renne arrived in Crossbell and took on the persona of hacker 'Kitty' to toy with the members of the Special Support Section (SSS) through the orbal network. Together with the SSS, she uncovered the truth about her childhood, which cleared up the misunderstanding that her parents had 'abandoned' her. This revelation removed one of the obstacles on her path to emotional healing. Afterward, Renne continued to watch over and assist the SSS, which ultimately helped them take down Joachim, the mastermind behind the cult's human experiments. At the conclusion of these events, Renne finally let go of her past burdens and accepted Estelle and Joshua as her true family. She returned to the Liberl Kingdom with them and embraced her new life. In Trails to Azure, Renne visited Crossbell once more. During the Crossbell Liberation Campaign, her long-time companion, Pater-Mater, sacrificed itself in a self-destructive attack to save her and destroy an enemy divine weapon.
Lorine | ??? | 1/5 | 158 | 49kg | Since a young age, Lorine displayed remarkable business instincts. She had a knack for finding the cheapest sources, the best channels, and crafting the best sales pitches. According to her, she possessed an incredible inner treasury that fuels her endless desire for wealth. However, this obsession caused her to lose sight of the balance in business. After a fierce business war, Lorine was cornered by several competitors, and even her shop was forced to change hands. Looking at the empty warehouse, for the first time, Lorine felt a mix of helplessness and anger. Lorine refused to accept that her failure stemmed from her own greed. Instead, she blamed the favoritism shown by the Eastrise rulers towards the old merchants. In her eyes, if those 'moral' competitors hadn't been protected by powerful connections, her business talent would have triumphed. Fueled by resentment and frustration, she overheard rumors about the Awakener—a person who could break the rules and create miracles. Lorine decided to reach out and proposed to become a 'partner' in hopes of regaining her power. During her partnership with the Awakener, Lorine proved to be a strategic genius, with a keen sense for spotting opportunities, assessing risks, and identifying breakthroughs. However, working with the Awakener made her realize that she, too, needed a partner like them in her business philosophy. In one trade crisis, Senri even risked taking responsibility for the Awakener and forfeited a huge profit in the process. It was the first time she understood that a 'partner' isn't just someone to take advantage of, but someone with whom you can advance and retreat together. While she still grumbles about losing treasures, Lorine's mindset has shifted. She began to question if the true meaning of wealth is simply amassing gold and silver or creating value and sharing joy. This collaboration with the Awakener set Lorine on a new business path. |
Lascaux | 18 | 2/16 | 159 | 42kg | Born on Whale Tail Island in the far north of Bifrost, Lascaux is a diving and fishing expert. For her, being around the sea is second nature. Despite the North Sea being rarely visited, Lascaux willingly embraces solitude to protect the area, guiding and aiding the occasional passing ships. Due to the ocean currents, Whale Tail Island, the hometown of Lascaux, used to be an important fishing ground of the north. However, during the Calamity, Whale Tail Island was completely devoured by the ocean currents, and the nearby sea areas gradually became devoid of any vitality. In order to unravel the mystery, Lascaux decided to guard this area alone. Every day, she dives into the deep sea to search for her lost hometown and the source of what devoured all life traces. In order to follow in the footsteps of the Awakener, Lascaux, who left her hometown, joined Teslovik. As a diver, Lascaux is capable of handling Teslovik's maritime tasks, but she harbors higher goals and aspirations in her heart. She yearns to become a warrior who can stand shoulder to shoulder with the Awakener and form bonds deeper than friendship in their journey against the darkness. |
Charlotte | 24 | 1/6 | 167 | 58kg | Charlotte is one of the most famous detectives in the Empire, and she has been involved in many high-profile cases. However, recently, due to various upheavals in the Empire, her news has been drowned out by events that are more relevant to the people of the Empire. Charlotte tends to be lazy when she's off work, though she remains highly sensitive to information. She rarely goes out, yet her curiosity about the world never fades. Newspapers, informants, communicators, magazines — anything that offers a glimpse of the outside becomes her pastime. While Charlotte may often be seen in a relaxed state, she is far more commonly encountered in her working mode. When on a case, her sharp mind unravels the truth with remarkable speed. Her relentless pursuit of the truth bears a striking resemblance to another renowned detective, Christie. Unlike Christie, Charlotte enjoys using the truth as bait once she uncovers it. She playfully teases her targets lurking in the shadows, and sometimes even her own companions. Mira often becomes her victim, unable to keep up with Charlotte's sharp wit. On the other hand, Christie, whose logical thinking nearly matches Charlotte's, prefers to reveal the answer outright, much to Charlotte's disappointment, as it spoils her fun. Despite her mischievous tendencies, Charlotte has never intentionally broken the rules. Compared to Christie, who relentlessly pursues the truth no matter the cost, Charlotte earns greater trust from the church police. |
Christie | 22 | 6/12 | 165 | 48kg | Christie is a private detective in the Empire. Although she works independently, hiring her for an investigation is no easy task. It's not just her exceptionally high fees that make her services unattainable for most people. It's also the fact that she has no fixed office. Whether or not you can find her to propose a commission depends entirely on fate. However, if your circumstances happen to spark her curiosity, that's a different story. In that case, she might just seek you out herself. Christie pursues her career as a private detective out of passion. Rather than settling for mundane investigations, she prefers to tackle challenging mysteries or cases with significant impact. In her relentless quest for the truth, she sometimes goes as far as infiltrating criminal organizations or using herself as bait, naturally making her a prime focus for the police. Despite this, she consistently exploits legal loopholes to justify her gray-area actions, leaving the authorities both frustrated and powerless. After witnessing a tragic miscarriage of justice in her childhood, Christie often heard a voice urging her: Don't stop, seek the truth, and find the answers with your own hands. One day, she showed up at the police station once again, holding crucial evidence she had somehow gathered. With unwavering confidence, she placed it in front of the baffled officer. Instead of the usual threats, the officer suggested she join the police force to investigate cases openly, perhaps out of habit or sheer helplessness. But Christie, as always, simply walked away. 'Sorry, but working alone is a detective's rule. Just be ready to assist when I need it, dear officer.' |
Prinny | 16 | 2/28 | 156 | 58kg | Prinny, the border Cardinal of the Augustine Empire, is a seemingly lazy and harmless lady. Despite her cute voice, she is feared by many on the border, earning her the title 'Border Viper.' Her actions contrast with her voice. She is decisive, ruthless, and merciless to those who obstruct her work. She coerces and tempts those who can be swayed, and poisons and assassinates those who cannot. Levia, recognizing her 'purity,' recommends her as the Empire's border Cardinal, entrusting her with managing its most troublesome regions. The Border Diocese has welcomed many converts from other factions into the Church. As Cardinal, Prinny is responsible for identifying any spies among them. With Levia's support, she quickly became the de facto leader and took control of the Inquisition and gaining the power to judge believers. Thanks to her management, the Border Diocese has grown increasingly stable - a stability that continues to this day and will last into the future. Prinny came from a noble family that was losing its luster, and the only thing they had left was their title. After her mother passed away and realizing her family couldn't help her and would just weigh her down, Prinny left them behind. She found refuge in the church, where Levia took her in. Impressed by Prinny's skills, Levia gave her important tasks, which made Prinny feel like she'd made the right move. Prinny followed Levia's orders without a second thought, knowing Levia wouldn't give her any trouble – it was a mutual understanding between them. |
Samovila | 25 | 8/20 | 168 | 48kg | There's a long-standing rumor on Dark Road: every night, the orphans vanish, making their way to Granny Yaga's house. There, they're greeted by a warm fireplace, delicious meals, and soft beds. It's a place as enchanting as a fairy tale. To outsiders, this tale might seem like nothing more than a story spun by the orphans to find comfort and escape. But those who truly know Dark Road understand the truth: Granny Yaga is real, and she is Samovila. Samovila, one of the figures representing the chaotic order of Dark Road, is its most prominent intelligence broker. She runs a large orphanage, taking in children from every corner of the area, offering them protection, shelter, food, and education. Yet, despite her care, she isn't well-loved by the children. Behind her back, they whisper her nickname — 'Granny Yaga,' the infamous monster from Bifrost's folklore who devours misbehaving children. The name might stem from the fact that, while Samovila shields the orphans from harm, she offers no financial support. Instead, they must rely on the skills and knowledge gained at the orphanage to survive in the unforgiving world of Dark Road. Even then, Samovila remains a distant guardian. Unless their lives are in immediate danger, she never interferes. Most of the children who grow up in Samovila's orphanage eventually choose to leave once they've built a stable foundation for themselves. They carry with them the memory of her shelter and protection, but they often seek out more tightly-knit organizations within Dark Road. Their departures are usually silent, yet Samovila, who remembers every child, always notices first. Sometimes it's while she's handing out warm bread for afternoon tea, other times when she's straightening the blankets on empty beds. Whenever a child slips away, she carefully collects their belongings, cleaning and storing them in a room she rarely visits. It's as if she's dusting off a precious memory and tucking it away in her heart. Samovila never speaks of those who have left, as though their presence was a fleeting dream. 'When children grow up, let them leave.' |
Holy Lady Vivi | 18 | 6/18 | 165 | 55kg | After being rescued by the Awakener, Vivi chooses to break free from Levia's control and live as an independent individual. Embracing her role as the Holy Lady, she devotes herself to disaster relief efforts. While serving as a special envoy, Vivi brings aid to Botley, only to be ambushed by Rasparta. Despite her grievous wounds, she conceals her condition to maintain the Empire's peace. Her selfless resolve touches Guinevere, the leader of the God Eaters, who sets aside her stubbornness and chooses to stand with Vivi in healing the Empire's divisions. In the disaster-stricken region, Vivi earned people's support with her charm. Backed by the masses, she ultimately succeeded Levia as the protector of the Augustine Empire. Restoring the parliamentary system to manage the Empire's affairs, Vivi devoted herself to interpreting the divine revelations, resolving conflicts, and becoming a steadfast pillar of support for the people. Vivi has won the support of the Empire, but she often doubts herself: How is she different from the artificial human she used to be? Is she worthy of leading the Empire? Vivi always maintains a model demeanor in public, and only her closest friends can see her melancholy. Despite her confusion, Vivi chooses to shoulder her responsibilities and move forward. |
Rosabelle | 19 | 10/14 | 164 | 51kg | Rosabelle is the most famous traveling merchant in Eastrise. She spends most of her time trading around the world, and most people in Eastrise have only heard of her name, with few having met her in person. People say that Rosabelle is gentle and has friends all over the world. Those who know Rosabelle would affirm these rumors as true. Traveling merchants carrying a large amount of goods are easy to be targeted by dangerous people in unfamiliar areas. If the other party resorts to force, Rosabelle's guards will show them why she has the confidence to travel around the world. But if the other party sets a trap, Rosabelle has to figure out a way to solve it herself. Although Rosabelle is very smart, her mental strength can easily get exhausted over time. At such times, Rosabelle would light a pot of incense for herself and have a good sleep under the protection of her guards. The next day, Rosabelle would recover to her usual gentle self and continue to lead the traveling merchants forward. Rosabelle often followed her parents on travels from a young age. During these travels, Rosabelle saw a variety of sceneries that she could not imagine without seeing them in person, which made her fall in love with traveling and eventually become a traveling merchant. Perhaps because Rosabelle's goal was to see different sceneries, coupled with her gentle personality, Rosabelle has many friends outside of Eastrise. In the west, she has a deep relationship with the Victoria family. In the north, she is one of the officially designated suppliers for Bifrost. Even in Nebu, where there are many tribes, many tribes welcome this merchant from the east and are willing to tell her the stories of their tribes. |
Osiris | 18 | 2/28 | 165 | 58kg | Osiris, whose name means 'Throne', was chosen by the guardian deity Ifurito of the Kashi Tribe and received teachings from the high priest Anubis of the Nebu Alliance to become a priestess. She is a prominent candidate for the high priestess position in the Nebu Alliance. With a cute appearance but reserved demeanor, she is known for her elegance and grace. This has made her popular among the believers. 'She's such a special kid, always graceful in everything she does. Even when she makes mistakes, her ritual process is still incredibly smooth, which is truly rare.' That was the first time Osiris held a ritual ceremony. Her movements were so smooth that Anubis didn't even notice the minor mistakes she made. It was only after Anubis and Osiris reviewed the ceremony that they realized the issues. After leaving Anubis, Osiris returned to the Kasi Tribe. Her elegant ritual ceremony was highly praised by many, and a lot more people joined the Kasi Tribe as a result. 'After leaving the desert, she will gain a new understanding of faith.' Horus chose Osiris to support Teslovik, which upset Ifurito. Anubis and Ifurito talked things over to share their feelings. Osiris has lived her whole life in the desert and has few interactions with her peers due to her role. As the closest person to divinity, a priestess must have a clear understanding of the gods, the tribe, the powers, and the enemies. However, these insights cannot be learned in the priestess's courses. As for herself, Osiris approaches her duties with a strong interest in the unknown forces beyond Nebu and shows no regret about leaving her homeland. |
Lucienne | 25 | 7/20 | 168 | 50kg | Bifrost's northern end, Mount Orosi, was once a world-renowned skiing destination. In the past, it was known for two things: its steep snow and its frostfin. The snow referred to the mountain's naturally steep ski slopes, while the frostfin—a delicate icefish found in the frozen sea at the mountain's base—was prized for its tender texture. After the Calamity, the ski slopes remained, but the frostfin vanished. Lucienne had learned to cook from an old man whose hometown was in Mount Orosi, and she often felt his deep longing for the frostfin. That longing became one of the reasons Lucienne set out to search for it on Mount Orosi. Lucienne grew up in the Dark Road and was adopted by Samovila. Having experienced hunger while wandering the Dark Road, she developed a deep appreciation for food from an early age. After entering the orphanage, her interest in cooking led her to often help in the kitchen, preparing meals alongside Samovila for the other children. Like many other orphans from the Dark Road, she naturally left the orphanage when she grew up. Since then, Lucienne has been striving to pursue all the delicious foods in the world that can bring happiness to people. After leaving the Dark Road, a small private restaurant changed the course of her life. It was a modest place where an old man served her simple yet heartwarming dishes. There were no fancy techniques or costly ingredients, but to Lucienne, the taste was deeply moving. It reminded her of the first time she had the orphanage director's toast—a feeling that went beyond the taste buds and touched the soul. It was her first glimpse of what happiness in life could be. From that moment on, Lucienne chose to stay and learn from the old man. As he spoke of his memories and longing for frostfin, Lucienne connected with his emotions and took on his wish as her own—as if finding the frostfin might also unlock something precious from her own childhood. 'The feeling of tasting something truly delicious for the first time... I'll never forget it.' |
Vika | 21 | 11/26 | 170 | 65kg | Dr. Zineda lives a secluded life, but her children have grown resilient through life's trials. As Zineda's foster daughter, Vika took on the responsibility of caring for her in adulthood. Vika's challenging childhood led her away from conflict; instead, she finds joy in creating delicious dishes from Eastrise and Bifrost. Using the doctor's scientific methods, she blends these cuisines into her own cooking. Vika's greatest happiness is hearing Zineda praise her cooking. As orphans adopted by the Joint Council, Vika and her sister spent their childhood in the Bifrost orphanage. With their outstanding physical qualities, they became the early experimental subjects of the Case technology. However, behind this technology that saves humanity, lies the tragic experiences of the early experimental subjects. Although Vika's Case operation was successful, she witnessed the disappearance of her companions one by one, which instilled in her a deep fear of biological experiments. Vika joined Teslovik as Zineda's family member. At first, she stayed close to Zineda, wary of past tragedies repeating. But Teslovik's warmth gradually eased her fears. She soon accepted their mission to save humanity and became a beloved chef there. |
Alina | 23 | 7/11 | 170 | 49kg | Alina once served as a gunner at the Arctic Camp of Bifrost, a true soldier who has seen the horrors of war firsthand. After enduring the cruelty of battle, she chose to retire from the front lines and took up a clerical position at the Bifrost Ministry of Defense. Diligent and conscientious, Alina has devoted herself to her new role. Her dedication has earned her a few 'achievements'—like outlasting one colleague after another, including her so-called 'superior', the now-former supervisor Ratatoskr. Her colleagues tend to describe her like this: 'Alina may seem scatterbrained, but that's only because she actually is.' At first, people would often offload their work onto Alina, taking advantage of her easygoing nature. Though she always accepted every task without complaint, over time, her colleagues quietly agreed to only entrust her with simpler duties like locking up the office or filing documents. Thanks to her diligent performance, rumors even started circulating in the office, like how she was discharged from the army because she accidentally fired on friendly forces. Her former supervisor, Ratatoskr, even protested, demanding a new assistant. When these stories reached Alina, she resolved to prove herself. Determined to reflect on her mistakes and improve her work, she began keeping a detailed work journal. Here are a few excerpts from Alina's work journal: 'Turns out the file the boss had been searching for over two weeks was used as a desk mat by me.' 'Locked the boss in the building again by accident. She's officially banned me from locking up.' 'The boss asked me to pick her up at 6pm, yet it's 8pm now.' 'Oh no, I shut the car door on the boss's hand.' 'Why did the boss quit before me?' Despite this, Alina remains committed to her goal of becoming a 'Longstanding Model Employee' at the Bifrost Ministry of Defense. The good news is, she's already nailed the 'longstanding' part. |
Morai | 18 | 1/1 | 167 | 49kg | Morai is a unique Case created under the Augustine Empire's Project Wonder. She is the twin sister of Daisy and wields the power known as [Infinite], just like her sister. While Daisy manipulates time, Morai governs space, which is referred to by researchers as [Infinite Space]. Before becoming a subject of Project Wonder, Morai was born into the nobility of the Empire. She and her twin sister Daisy were once the pride of their family, though Morai's memories of those days have mostly faded. Her earliest clear recollections begin in the research lab. When Morai was still unfamiliar with her powers, she would instinctively slip into an infinite space without exits whenever her emotions surged. She couldn't escape from it on her own. Yet, perhaps due to some twin bonds, Daisy always found a way to break through the cycle and reach her, calming her back into stability. To Morai, Daisy is the most irreplaceable person who has saved her time and time again. Morai was the most special one in the Project Wonder as she could easily leave the lab. To prevent Morai from wandering around, the researchers secretly provided her with various pre-Calamity toys, games, and comics. Most of these were yuri-themed, simply because the researchers were fans of the genre. As no one ever corrected her understanding of fiction versus reality, Morai's worldview was somewhat distorted and unusual. |
Anna | ??? | 2/23 | 160 | 47kg | In Rasparta, Anna is one of its enigmatic rulers. As the chief priestess overseeing the intelligence agency, her authority is second only to that of the leader, Solomon. Serving as the front-line executor, Anna wields the black chain bestowed by the leader—an artifact that grants her control over all Cases and Hosts. None within the organization dares to disobey her. Despite her petite frame and blonde twin ponytails, the legendary raven Huginn's power lies sealed within her eyes. All ravens serve as her informants, and thousands of perspectives converge on her, which earns her the title King of Ravens. Her sister Gangleri shares the same bloodline and inherited the name Muninn... another witch haunted by fear. Anna sees through hearts at a glance, which is why she's never truly trusted anyone. The loneliness of her lofty position and the fear her name inspires have left her emotionally isolated. She longs for a love pure and unquestioning—yet she's afraid that such tenderness might become her greatest weakness. |
Gangleri | ??? | 12/22 | 155 | 40kg | If there were a quiz about Noneuia, Gangleri would probably ace it. The self-proclaimed folklorist has traveled far and wide, recording everything she sees in her notebook. Gangleri has a large traveling cloak, from which she can effortlessly pull out any supplies she needs. Over time, tales of a wizard in white robes have spread. Gangleri's white raven, like the freshly fallen snow, foreshadows the long winter that's about to come. Most of the time, Solomon, the leader of Rasparta, doesn't need to take personal action. Instead, her two ravens gather all the necessary information for her. Gangleri, a witch and one of the priestesses of Rasparta, isn't keen on organizational tasks compared to her more powerful sisters. What captivates her are the numerous mysteries of magic. For quite a while, she's remained detached from Rasparta's operations, traveling far and wide across Noneuia to unearth ancient knowledge through people's daily lives. This world is composed of the [Ancient One] and other life forms. Gangleri is fascinated by the study of the world's evolution and the origin of magic, which is of great significance to Rasparta. Gangleri uses a magic wand to preserve the memories of this world, calmly waiting for the day when the Ancient Gods descend. Only those who are well-prepared can truly appreciate the beauty of origin and termination when they face the gods. |
Ahun | 18 | 1/16 | 168 | 47kg | Ahun is a sorcerer from Eastrise, hired by Rosabelle as her personal bodyguard thanks to her combat abilities. She now travels alongside Rosabelle on merchant routes across the land. Though Ahun performs her duties flawlessly whenever danger arises, she's actually someone who prefers to take it easy whenever possible. Unless forced to set her phone down for work, Ahun is practically glued to it. Her day-to-day routine consists of guarding her employer and scrolling through her phone. No matter how beautiful the scenery is, she barely gives it a glance but simply completes her tasks swiftly before returning to her own world. Ahun detests being busy, so this kind of laid-back job suits her just fine. Since childhood, Ahun has been effortlessly accomplishing tasks that others struggle to achieve. This caught the attention of Dr. Zineda, who performed the artificial Case procedure on her. During a brief period of study under Zineda, Ahun honed her sorcery and awakened her innate abilities as a protector further strengthening her protective powers. Her remarkable gifts may have shaped her slacker personality. But perhaps that's also what led her to choose this job in the first place. |
Elixia | 18 | 6/1 | 162 | 51kg | Elixia opened a teahouse in the Mo Capital of Eastrise, offering handmade tea snacks and a special service—sleep aid. With her sorcery, she can lull people into sleep easily. For some insomniacs, her teahouse has become a more effective remedy than therapy. Moreover, Elixia possesses the rare ability to 'read dreams'. She can delve into the root of a nightmare, then devour it, leaving the dreamer mentally at ease. In the Mo Capital, anyone struggling with insomnia or restless sleep can reserve a Silent Chamber at Elixia's teahouse. There, she prepares aromatherapy and soft bedding. Once the guest lies beneath the quilt, Elixia activates her sorcery, gently guiding them into slumber. Then, she enters their dreamlands—her Case power allows her to shield the dreamer from intrusive thoughts and lingering mental impurities that disrupt rest. Those who undergo her healing find their sleep vastly improved, both in depth and peace. Elixia cannot enter her own dreams; in fact, she cannot dream at all. Ever since childhood, she's been drifting into others' dreams when they fall asleep, quietly sharing their dreamscapes. But as war broke out and the world shifted, those once bright, utopian dreams turned into visions of chaos and despair, none of which escaped Elixia's eyes. Through the dreams of her friends and families, she felt the silent burdens they carried. Though powerless to change reality, Elixia decided that she could help them break free from their inner chains in dreams. She wanted them to believe in happiness again. That's the true purpose behind her sleep aid business. |
Serenelle | 18 | 5/21 | 164 | 49kg | Serenelle is the owner of the largest tea farm in Eastrise. She has been learning how to pick and craft tea since childhood. Her teas are beloved not only across Eastrise, but also find eager markets in Bifrost and the Empire. Growing up surrounded by tea and water, Serenelle has mastered a wide range of tea-making techniques. Among them, her favorite is tea-treading—a practice she finds relaxing and enjoyable. After the Calamity, people were too exhausted from survival. Since tea wasn't considered a necessity, it was overlooked at first. By the time anyone remembered it, most tea farms had been destroyed in the chaos. Serenelle's mother believed that tea should never disappear from people's lives. She spent her life chasing tea across the land, and eventually went missing while searching for an extinct tea tree. Serenelle understands her mother completely. After her disappearance, Serenelle became the caretaker of the tea farm. But rather than reviving the tea trees lost to history, what she truly wants is to protect the tea farm her mother left behind. Except for business talks, Serenelle seldom leaves the tea farm. The outside world seems to hold little sway over her. Those unfamiliar with Serenelle often assume she's a quiet girl because she's always lived in a tea farm. In fact, she's lively and spirited. She has met countless merchants through the tea business, which stretches across Eastrise. As a child, she was eloquent and won over the adults. Now that she's grown, she can talk circles around just about anyone. She stays on the farm simply because she loves it. She often runs barefoot through the fields, checking on the tea trees one by one, and when her feet are clean, she enjoys pressing the tea leaves with them. Many who know her are aware of this unique habit, but no one except Serenelle herself has ever tasted the tea made from this unique process. |
Natalia | 17 | 1/2 | 160 | 45kg | Natalia is an officer in the Bifrost forces. Her strengths lie in her loyalty and combat skills, but her weakness is that she knows only how to fight and how to follow. She was once Yulia's most dependable subordinate. After Yulia was imprisoned, Natalia continued to fight on the front lines at the border. When Mori was critically wounded and Yulia quietly reclaimed power behind the scenes, Natalia was summoned back to her side. In Natalia's life, there was almost nothing she truly desired for herself. Even becoming a soldier was something she did because of her family's suggestion. 'Since there's nothing you want to do, why not join the army? That way, all you have to do is follow orders.' —And so, on her mother's advice, she embarked on her military career, where her extraordinary combat abilities were discovered, and she was soon promoted to the rank of officer. That was how she met Yulia. That was the first time Natalia felt genuine admiration for someone. Yulia was not just her superior but also her idol. Whether it was her decisiveness, her efficiency, or her commanding presence, Yulia embodied everything Natalia respected. More importantly, Yulia's unquestionable orders were exactly what she needed. Rather than ponder how or why to act, it was far easier for her to simply obey and execute. Yulia needed a subordinate who followed orders without question, and Natalia needed a superior who gave her purpose without room for doubt. Thus, the two were a perfect match. On the battlefield, Natalia racked up countless achievements under Yulia's command, eventually becoming her most loyal and dependable subordinate. |
Lydia | 20 | 11/22 | 165 | 46kg | Lydia's hometown is in the snowy mountains of Bifrost, surrounded by nothing but vast snowfields. Despite this, Lydia still found her own joy here: paragliding. Perhaps due to her longing for the outside world, Lydia has had a dream of flying like a bird since she was a child. After trying paragliding for the first time, she became irretrievably addicted to it. Later, when she saw the Bifrost Troops recruiting pilots, she signed up immediately. After joining the military, Lydia has demonstrated exceptional flying talent and soon became the best pilot in Bifrost. However, she seems indifferent to the various merits she earned in battles. Compared to war and honor, she enjoys the freedom and thrill of soaring in the sky more. An officer in the flight academy once commented on her—Lydia might not be a born soldier, but she is definitely a born pilot. In addition to flying, Lydia also loves socializing and is very popular. Whether in her snowy mountain hometown or among the troops, she's a familiar face at every party and gathering. Lydia always gets straight to the point—her bluntness may have a sharp edge, but it only draws more friends to her. For example, at one party, she met a gunner from another unit. After just one night of conversation, she flatly remarked that the gunner would probably choose to retire soon. Rather than taking offense, the gunner appreciated her candor, and the two became friends. Lydia's words may be sharp, but her honesty is perhaps the very source of her charm. |
Mira | 18 | 11/26 | 160 | 44kg | Mira was once a priest tasked with comforting the public at the Church of Augustus. In her role, she noticed that those seeking help often faced inexplicable challenges. Believing that only the truth can clear up confusion, she became an apprentice to the renowned detective Charlotte of the Empire, taking on the role of Charlotte's assistant Mira, playing the role of Dr. Watson, may not have the talent to be a detective, but she's diligently learning reasoning and criminal investigation techniques. The seemingly aloof Charlotte always secretly gives Mira hints and clues during the case handling process to help her complete the final reasoning. After encountering various cases firsthand, Mira realized that the truth is often harsher than lies. However, she understands that only by knowing the truth can she truly comfort those in need. |
Mel | 18 | 1/10 | 155 | 42kg | As a Chthonian who wields the power to burrow through the earth, Mel carries two duties. First, she patrols the desert surrounding the Rasparta Altar to prevent outsiders from approaching. Second, she serves as a living vessel of transport, leading the higher-ranking members of Rasparta on covert missions. Therefore, her presence within the organization alone is regarded as a dire omen: a big shot has arrived to carry out a mission even more critical than guarding the Altar itself. Mel is one of Rasparta's proudest creations. The concept of the Chthonian originates from ancient myths of foreign tribes, but Rasparta is devoted to turning such legends into reality through the Echo Crystal. The work in the desert is an isolating one. So Mel takes pleasure in treasure-hunting among the sands, hoarding fossils and gemstones long buried by time, and hiding them away in her small den. Tired of traveling alone in the desert, Mel sees the occasional travelers to be her pastime. She appears as a girl, bringing timely drink of water to travelers, diverting their journey from the Altar; or teaching a lesson to those with ill intentions towards the Altar to ensure the secret of Rasparta is carried with them to the grave... Thus, two completely different legends circulate across the desert: one speaks of a Holy Lady who saves the endangered; the other tells of a demonic wyrm that imprisons the Holy Lady and attempts to kill all outsiders. |
Kalinca | 18 | 11/7 | 163 | 51kg | Kalinca was born on the northernmost coast of Bifrost, where winters seemed to last forever. Her father was a harbor mechanic, and steam-powered ships and cranes were the most familiar sights in her world. As a child, Kalinca often followed her father around, watching him repair massive machinery with his oil-stained hands. She would hand him screws and wipe his tools, and to her, the heavy iron and roaring gears felt safer than fairy tales and games. Amid the hearty laughter and clanging of the harbor workers, she first felt the power of machinery. As the war in Bifrost spread, the harbor gradually fell into disuse, and familiar faces began to disappear, leaving Kalinca alone to face the desolate harbor. She didn't retreat, but carried her toolbox on her shoulder, using the heavy wrench as her weapon. Faced with desolation and hunger, she could have fled, but she chose to stay. She used the tools left by her father to repair the remaining harbor equipment, fix stoves and water pumps for her neighbors, and make a living from these small jobs. In this harsh environment, she gradually developed her calm and meticulous character. Those lonely years were both her trial and the true beginning of her journey as an engineer. Today, Kalinca is a key figure in Teslovik's base reconstruction. She is meticulous in her work, always keeping things neat and orderly, whether she's handling blueprints, cleaning components, or quickly wiping away oil stains. She has a habit of recording the whereabouts of every screw in her notebook, and in her spare time, she enjoys cooking richly flavored dishes—a memory of her hometown. Even in the seemingly cold and hard world of steel, she retains a delicate side: she lets down her guard around gentle people, and in the quiet of the workshop at night, she softly makes wishes to the sea breeze. |
Kleona | 23 | 12/24 | 166 | 53kg | Kleona is a scriptwriter for Bifrost Television, renowned for her acclaimed war-themed dramas. Her works often depict the unwavering faith of people in war-torn worlds through the stories of ordinary characters. Each broadcast resonates strongly with the audience and sparks widespread discussion. Many have become her fans, eagerly joining the salons she hosts in her spare time. While sharing their thoughts with her, they also hope that their stories can become part of her scripts. Those who have met her in person all say the same thing: Kleona is the perfect listener, gifted with a magical ability to draw out hearts and stories alike. Kleona had loved stories since childhood. To her, this was a way to escape from the endless tragedies brought by Calamity and wars. The fictional world is like a utopia, making her feel safe. But one day, that sanctuary collapsed—the war took her family and ruined her home full of books. She struggled to cheer up, realizing that escapism was only a form of cowardice. From that moment, she resolved to change the world and began to write. It was then that Rasparta noticed her. After joining Rasparta, she began working under the codename [Writer], with scriptwriting as her stage. In Bifrost, where countless people numb themselves to the pain of war, television dramas and other forms of storytelling have become a spiritual refuge. Kleona uses this stage to weave [hidden messages], subtly planting the idea of welcoming the ancient goddesses into people's minds through entertainment. To her, it's a way to reshape a broken world. And her scripts always end the same way— 'Every story has an ending, and the ending is the beginning, just as death is renewal.' |
Kira | 19 | 9/1 | 161 | 48kg | In a corner of the Eastrise commercial street sits a modest little tailor shop. Rumor has it that the garments made there can grant wishes—whether it be a prayer for health or a desire for wealth. As long as one makes a wish to the shopkeeper during a fitting, the wish will come true once the clothes are worn. Some even claim that sorcery is at work behind the scenes. Facing such rumors, the shopkeeper Kira simply responds with her signature smile, waving her hands and insisting it is simply an illusion that people feel happier in new clothes, and so everything in life seems to go their way. In fact, Kira is a sorceress who hides her real name. Her sorcery doesn't directly affect people, but is imbued into fabric, so the wishes she can fulfill are ultimately limited. Even so, fulfilling these small wishes for her customers is the reason why Kira runs this tailor shop. She hopes to bring joy to people and do what she can for those who are lost. Therefore, she has her own set of criteria. She will never help those who clearly harbor ill intentions and try to use their wishes to harm others. Kira insists on her strict selection criteria and hides her identity as a sorceress because of a past experience making clothes for a friend: Early in her practice of sorcery, she excitedly crafted a set of clothes that could grant her friend's wishes. At first, the friend used them to fulfill harmless desires, but as those wishes kept coming true, her greed grew unchecked, eventually causing harm to innocent people. In the end, Kira tore the clothes apart and lost her friend. She realized that when greed becomes guaranteed, it marks the beginning of sin. While Kira wishes to help people realize their dreams, she refuses to let anyone lose themselves to greed. For this reason, the idea of 'granting wishes' is merely a gimmick for the tailor shop—a beautiful fantasy for its customers—one that Kira never promises through her sorcery. |
Suri | 20 | 5/21 | 161 | 50kg | Suri is one of the few [harmless and controllable] subjects in Project W, designated No.003. Her ability, named [Rebirth] by the researchers, allows her to recover rapidly from both physical and mental harm. When the damage is too severe, she enters a rebirth state, casting off everything that causes her distress, and returning to the state she was in right after the modification surgery. In the Augustine Empire's Project W, most of the test subjects gradually lost all memory of their past during the long years of experimentation. But Suri was different. Because of [Rebirth], whenever she suffered a fatal injury, she would return to the state she was in right after her modification, including her memories. Suri recalls that her hometown lay by the sea. Her father made a living as a fisherman, while her mother often urged him to abandon the trade and move them to a safer city within the Empire, fearing the ocean's dangers. But her father never agreed. To Suri, he was right—for although the sea was perilous, it provided her family with a rich bounty, whereas the so‑called safe cities offered nothing but frenzied soldiers… Suri knew it was a war that swept across the entire continent, and that her parents were just two among countless ordinary lives claimed by it. She did not hate the Empire itself—only the suffering that war had brought. After her parents' deaths, Suri was brought to the lab by members of the Church. She voluntarily chose to participate in an experiment that promised to grant a child the means to survive… It was the first decision she made after losing her parents, and the one she came to regret most. After gaining [Rebirth], she was extensively used to test the lethality of various weapons and viruses. The researchers would gauge their destructive power by observing her condition. Each time she revived from a fatal injury, her self-healing ability grew stronger. By the later stages of experiment, there was almost nothing left in the lab capable of causing her fatal harm. After the success of Project W, Suri was imprisoned with other test subjects. During an uprising, she escaped alongside many of her fellow subjects. |
Kala | 20 | 2/12 | 164 | 46kg | Kala is the principal dancer of the St. Jordan Theater's ballet troupe. Audiences naturally assume she must have come from noble roots to possess such grace and talent. But in truth, Kala has never known a stable home. She grew up wandering the streets of the Empire—sometimes sustained by strangers' kindness, sometimes chased away with cruelty. During harsh winters, she would press her hands against the frosted glass of the old theater and watch the dancers perform beneath dazzling lights. The stage seemed like a world apart. Her ragged figure reflected faintly against the glass, a stark contrast to the poised silhouettes within. Yet it was precisely this distance that ignited her yearning for beauty—and for dance. That night, she made a quiet vow: one day, she too would stand beneath the spotlight and shine When the [Bird Cage] was destroyed by the Calamity, the Echo Crystal's erosion slowly ate away at Kala's body. Desperate, she turned to an underground clinic in the disaster zone for a Case operation—a final gamble. Under the blinding glare of surgical lights and the sting of cold medicinal fluid, she felt herself slipping into darkness, certain she would never wake again. But when she opened her eyes, she was reborn. For a moment, it felt like a butterfly breaking free of its cocoon. Kala knew her new body was far from perfect. The rejection kept gnawing at her nerves, a constant reminder of what she had lost. Yet, within that pain bloomed a new obsession—to live by her own strength, and to prove the meaning of her existence with every step of her dance. From a wandering orphan to the principal dancer of the troupe, Kala's transformation was not achieved overnight. Her humble origins once drew suspicion and scorn—many deemed her unworthy of standing beneath the theater's brightest light. Yet Kala trained with relentless discipline, enduring countless falls and restarts, forging her body and will into steel. She no longer believes in gods because none ever answered her prayers. Even so, she continues to face her audience with grace and returns their applause with a smile and her dance. The ballet Swan Song brought Kala fame, but beyond the flowers and ovations, she never forgets that beauty was never a gift from the world. Perhaps human strength cannot stand against Calamity—but it can defy fate itself. |
Katana | 20 | 5/21 | 162 | 54kg | Katana is a general of Eastrise who values strength above all else. She believes that victory is the only glory that Eastrise's soldiers should pursue, and that Eastrise should reward the victors without reservation. Many in Eastrise agree with Katana's philosophy and join her ranks as soldiers. Through battling alongside her, they gradually become frenzied. Katana is passionate about seeking out battlefields, viewing them as the most thrilling playgrounds. Nearly every soldier under her command has heard her frenzied laughter as she swings her blade in battle. On the border between Nebu and Eastrise, Katana is present in nine out of ten border conflicts. She provokes every enemy in sight, using words and actions to infuriate her opponents, then revels in the joy of fighting them. When external warfare is required, Katana is the sharpest blade. But when Eastrise's higher-ups prefer not to start wars lightly, this sharp blade seems to have nowhere to go. Those familiar with Katana have tried to use fine wine as a sheath to restrain her. This works in the short term, but over time, Katana becomes dangerous when she can't find a battlefield. Firentia has always been trying to find a suitable sheath for the sharp Katana. Her idea was to use fine wine as a sheath. However, for Katana, the best wine is the strong liquor drunk in celebration of victory. Wine and the battlefield are inseparable. On An Shiyu's advice, Firentia decided to use a person as the sheath to form a new bond with Katana. This person should ideally be someone unconnected to battlefields or fine wine, yet capable of earning Katana's recognition. |
Nana | 20 | 6/18 | 158 | 47kg | Nana is a top chess player. In a tournament apparently sponsored by Rasparta, the delicate-looking Nana took the championship in a decisive sweep, instantly drawing attention. Her skill, looks, and unique aura have won her a large and growing fanbase. Nana was a special test subject in Project W. Before the Prime Model was created, her data outperformed everyone else. Had there been no accidents, the Prime Model of Project W—a model named Vivi—would have been her. But an accident changed everything. Rasparta, watching from the shadows, had been tracking Project W's progress. After discovering Nana, they secretly altered her data before her final modification. The test subject who should have become the strongest was taken by Rasparta before even receiving her number, and she became one of them. For a long time, Nana was confined by Rasparta in a secret base. Besides the mandatory lessons and tasks assigned by them, her only pastime was playing chess against herself. Nana was smart. She understood that the outcomes of Project W were meaningless to Rasparta. The real reason she had been taken from the project was because she possessed potential that even Rasparta could not fully control. However, her fate was still in their hands. To survive, she had to prove useful. Over time, an unnamed strategist emerged within Rasparta's covert operations. With their guidance, Rasparta's surveillance became more discreet, their plans played out more smoothly, and their infiltration efforts became far more effective. Through Nana's persistent efforts, Rasparta gradually loosened their grip on her. Eventually, they even allowed her to organize an international chess competition simply to satisfy her own ambitions. Every sign pointed to one truth: Rasparta had come to trust Nana, and she could finally act for herself. |
Masa | 19 | 1/10 | 168 | 52kg | Masa was once a member of the Bifrost forces and served on the front lines for many years. She joined the army with the determination to change the world, firmly believing that war was the path to a better future. Thanks to her exceptional performance, she passed every training and assessment, finally stepping onto the battlefield she had long dreamed of. Though doubts sometimes crept in, she tried to convince herself that this was the right path—until a mission left her seriously injured. The injury almost cost her the ability to continue fighting on the front lines. The physical pain, intertwined with moments of doubt on the battlefield, led her to realize that justice has no place in war, that lives should never be reduced to mere targets. Therefore, after her recovery, Masa chose to retire and become a war correspondent, hoping to reveal the truth of war through her reports and contribute to real peace. Masa would never forget her first step onto the battlefield: the chaotic explosions, the bodies collapsing under gunfire, the burning ruins. The scene before her felt like hell itself, freezing her in place for a heartbeat. She heard her teammates shouting and, with trembling, sweat-soaked fingers, pulled the trigger just as she had in training—watching as each target twitched and tumbled as her bullets struck home. That night, her teammates didn't return to camp with her. Doubt crept in about all the choices she had made, but the battlefield leaves no room for reflection. At dawn, she was shoved back to the front line. Day after day, she moved like a machine, numb to everything, surviving because she had no other option. Perhaps choosing to become a war correspondent now is, for her, a quiet act of atonement. |
Shu | 24 | 4/4 | 168 | 53kg | Shu is the head escort of the Cloud Escort. A die-hard fan of gangster films, she grew up running with various gangs, dreaming of becoming the big boss straight out of a crime story. By a twist of fate, she ended up joining Cloud Escort and became a legitimate collector of extortion fees. Though her mannerisms still carry a streetwise edge, what she actually does as escort chief is honest work—protecting people, keeping the neighborhood safe, and ensuring local businesses run without trouble. Before joining the escort agency, Shu was a muscle for a small gang. Back then, she was all fists and ego, convinced that if she hit hard enough, she could solve anything. That illusion broke when she charged into a rival gang's turf and got outnumbered, nearly causing serious trouble. Her boss stepped in alone, talked things out over a pot of tea, and got her out safe. That's when Shu learned the underworld isn't just about muscle—it's about brains and strategy. Soon after, she left the gang to sharpen herself in a bigger world. After leaving the gang, Shu lived as a drifter, moving from inn to inn. Whenever she saw trouble, she stepped in to get a real taste of the life among everyday folk. One day, while resting at a teahouse, she was suddenly caught in an ambush. Thinking it was payback from her gang days, Shu jumped in without hesitation—only to realize she had just helped a targeted escort team fight their way out. The attackers were after the valuables the team was guarding. By sheer coincidence, Shu's guts and quick thinking caught the eye of the head manager of Cloud Escort. And that was how she ended up joining the agency. |
Kokopelli | 20 | 2/12 | 168 | 55kg | Kokopelli is an online streamer with a knack for tapping into trending topics. She excels at swaying her audience's emotions, making her popular among young people. With a love for socializing and exploring new things, her activities are not limited to live streaming. She's starred in films, hosted solo concerts, and even ventured into the worlds of business and politics. Having graced numerous high-profile political banquets, Kokopelli is a true social chameleon with an array of shifting identities. Thanks to her vast network of connections, she often turns up in the most unexpected places, leaving her background and true origins shrouded in mystery. In fact, Kokopelli leads a double life as the High Priestess of Rasparta, codenamed: [Chameleon]. She is an intelligence agent that Rasparta has planted in Bifrost. With her superb social skills, she actively mingles among celebrities from all walks of life, gathering various types of information. Sometimes, she even broadcasts coded messages in plain sight, relaying intel to scattered Rasparta members right under the public's nose and enjoying the thrill of being exposed to danger. Kokopelli is always seeking new thrills, even joining Rasparta was just because 'it seemed like fun'—a line she frequently drops during her streams, as if only the most intense emotional highs can make her feel truly 'alive'. She takes pleasure in inciting and manipulating her audience, watching from the shadows as her fans spiral into a frenzy and sow chaos at her whim. However, as the threshold continues to rise, those thrills start to become dull. Kokopelli gradually realizes that perhaps she doesn't crave another mask, but she yearns for an equal to play against, or perhaps, a friend in whose presence she can finally drop her guard. |
Baion | 21 | 7/8 | 168 | 49kg | Baion is a pharmacist in Eastrise who, weary of the city's fast pace, chose a life of seclusion deep within the mountains. In reality, she is also a secret sorceress. With her sorcery, the remedies she concocts can soothe almost any pain, but she has never revealed this ability to anyone. Despite this, people often venture into the mountains in search of her, simply because her medicine is so effective, hoping to find her and have her prepare it personally. However, as her residence is so secluded, many cannot even find her door; even if they do, they often return empty-handed because no one answers. Therefore, getting medicine personally made by Baion is no easy task. In fact, Baion doesn't intentionally neglect her visitors; she is simply slow to react and often gets absorbed in the task at hand, to the point where she doesn't even hear the knocking at the door. Even when chatting with friends, she often speaks up only after the topic has ended, and her quirky personality and eccentric thinking often lead to surprising remarks. For instance, once when a friend was complaining about someone annoying, the topic had long since moved on, but Baion suddenly asked with a serious expression, 'Do you want me to poison him and take him out?' This startled her friend into waving her hands frantically, explaining that wasn't what she meant at all. But because of this, everyone who has met Baion says she is a very interesting person. Having studied medicine under her mother since childhood, Baion still remembers her teachings to this day: 'The power to heal is the same as the power to kill.' She has seen those who harbor resentment because they were denied treatment, and those who, after obtaining the all-powerful medicine, turned around and used it for evil. When her mother's sorcery was discovered, the very patients she had saved turned on her for profit, leading to her death at the hands of those she had rescued. Baion witnessed it all and painfully realized how dangerous this power over life and death truly is—it is a gift that must never be abused. For this reason, while she never turns away a patient, she remains deeply cautious about using her sorcery. And that sluggishness she wears may simply be the camouflage she built for herself. |
