Langrisser Hero Summon: what an SSR really costs with no pity

An SSR averages 50 summons, 4,400 Trinity Crystals, and nothing caps the wait. A featured hero on a 40%-share banner averages 125 summons.

An SSR on the Langrisser Hero Summon costs 50 summons, 4,400 Trinity Crystals, on average. Nothing guarantees it. Every summon is an independent 2% roll, no banner carries an SSR pity, and a long dry run does not raise the rate. The average is the only fixed number you get, so it helps to know how far the unlucky side reaches.

The rates

The permanent Hero Summon rolls 2% SSR, 13% SR and 85% R. A single costs 88 Trinity Crystals. A 10x costs 880, exactly ten singles, and its one extra is a floor: at least 1 SR hero. That floor is about SRs. It does nothing for SSRs.

Almost every banner uses the same table: 352 of the 376 on record run 2% SSR. The 5 LLR banners keep the same top-slot total and split it into 0.8% LLR and 1.2% SSR, so an LLR banner is not a better SSR banner. It hands part of the same budget to a higher rarity.

How the odds build

<thead><tr><th>Summons</th><th>Trinity Crystals</th><th>Any SSR</th><th>A 40%-share featured hero</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td>10</td><td>880</td><td>18.3%</td><td>7.7%</td></tr><tr><td>50</td><td>4,400</td><td>63.6%</td><td>33.1%</td></tr><tr><td>100</td><td>8,800</td><td>86.7%</td><td>55.2%</td></tr><tr><td>200</td><td>17,600</td><td>98.2%</td><td>79.9%</td></tr></tbody>

One 10x gives any SSR only 18.3% of the time, so 81.7% of 10x summons produce none. By the average of 50 summons, only 63.6% of players have an SSR. With no pity, a long unlucky tail pulls the average up, so most players beat it, and the ones who miss it can miss it by a lot. To be 90% sure of at least one SSR you need 114 summons, or 10,032 Trinity Crystals.

With no pity, "one SSR every 50 summons" is an average. It is not a promise. About one player in ten is still without an SSR after 10,032 Trinity Crystals.

An SSR is not the hero you wanted. 12 banners state the featured hero's share, and every one of them gives the featured hero 40% of the top slot. That is 0.8% a summon. At that rate the featured hero averages 125 summons, or 11,000 Trinity Crystals. Being 90% sure takes 287 summons, or 25,256 crystals. The right-hand column of the table is that hero.

The biggest discount on offer is a banner rule, not a rate. On 111 banners, the guarantee reads: first SSR is a featured hero you don't own. On those banners the first SSR you pull cannot be a duplicate, and it cannot be an off-banner hero. Your first featured hero there costs the same 50-summon average as any SSR, not the 125 that a 40%-share featured hero averages. If you want a new hero, a banner with that rule is where your Trinity Crystals go furthest.

Every banner's rate table, stated featured share and guarantee is on the summon rates page. What a hero is worth once you have them, at any level and star, is on the stat calculator.
