Snowbreak: most enemies are weakest to Kinetic and Thermal
181 of the 234 enemies with a resistance profile are weakest to Kinetic and Thermal. Only 7 are weakest to Frost.
77% of Snowbreak's enemies with a resistance profile, 181 of 234, are weakest to Kinetic and Thermal. 46 are weakest to Electrical and Chaos, and only 7 to Frost.
Every profiled enemy uses one of just 4 resistance profiles, so an enemy's family says almost everything about which damage type to bring.
The resistance profiles
Every profile in use, with how many enemies carry it. Negative values are the types an enemy is softer to.
| Weakest to | Enemies | Kinetic | Thermal | Frost | Electrical | Chaos |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Kinetic, Thermal | 179 | −10 | −10 | −5 | 0 | 0 |
| Electrical, Chaos | 46 | 0 | −5 | 0 | −10 | −10 |
| Frost | 7 | −5 | 0 | −10 | −5 | −5 |
| Kinetic, Thermal | 2 | −10 | −10 | +35 | 0 | 0 |
3 weakness groups cover every profiled enemy, and the Kinetic and Thermal group alone is 3.4× the size of all the others combined.
How big a weakness is
In every profile the weakest types sit at RES −10, and in every profile but the exception below, the next-softest sits at −5. The step from a neutral type to the right one is the same size against every profiled enemy, so the choice of type matters equally in every fight: no family is "very" weak to anything.
The one real exception is a variant of the main profile: Anomaly Grendel and Cain keep the Kinetic and Thermal weakness but resist Frost at +35. Against them Frost damage is both off the weakness and heavily resisted.
Operatives for each weakness
How many of the 54 Operatives deal each damage type, against how many enemies are weakest to it:
| Damage type | Operatives dealing it | Enemies weakest to it |
|---|---|---|
| Kinetic | 13 | 181 |
| Thermal | 10 | 181 |
| Chaos | 11 | 46 |
| Electrical | 11 | 46 |
| Frost | 9 | 7 |
23 Operatives deal Kinetic and Thermal damage, the types the largest group is softest to. Frost is the reverse case: the fewest enemies are weakest to it.
What follows for building a roster
One main damage dealer covers most fights
With most profiled enemies sharing one weakness, a single strong Kinetic and Thermal damage dealer is the most broadly useful investment. It is favoured against the majority of the list.
A second type for the rest
The Electrical and Chaos group is the only other large one. A second damage dealer of either type covers it, and between them the two groups account for 97% of every enemy with a profile. A third type buys very little on top of that.
Not every enemy has a profile
70 of the 304 enemies carry no resistance profile at all, so none of the above applies to them. Every enemy, with its resistance to each type and the type it is softest to, is on the Enemies page.
