hololive Dreams: how many pulls a featured ★5 really takes

The spark caps a featured ★5 at 200 pulls, but the main pickup averages 86.6. For the other featured talents the spark is how most players get them.

In hololive Dreams, the spark guarantees any featured ★5 at 200 pulls, which is 50,000 Blue Diamond. Most players never get that far for the main pickup. With the spark included, it averages 86.6 pulls, and half of players have it by pull 69. The other featured talents on the same banner are a different story. For them, the spark is the most likely way you will get one.

How the rates are split

Every pull has a 5% chance of a ★5. Pulls are independent, so there is no pity that ramps up as you go. The only safety nets are the ★4-or-better slot guaranteed on every 10-pull and the spark. A 10-pull has a 40.1% chance of containing at least one ★5 of any kind.

The featured talents share 2% of that, so 40% of ★5 pulls are featured talents. The share is not even. On the latest banner we carry, the Sunny Summer Vacay Gacha (running on 2026-08-04), the main pickup, Shirogane Noel, was 1% per pull. Each of the other 4 featured talents was 0.25%. That 4-to-1 gap is what the rest of this guide is about.

The odds, pull by pull

<thead><tr><th>Pulls</th><th>Main featured ★5</th><th>One other featured ★5</th><th>Any ★5, pulls only</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><th>10</th><td>9.6%</td><td>2.5%</td><td>40.1%</td></tr><tr><th>50</th><td>39.5%</td><td>11.8%</td><td>92.3%</td></tr><tr><th>100</th><td>63.4%</td><td>22.1%</td><td>99.4%</td></tr><tr><th>150</th><td>77.9%</td><td>31.3%</td><td>>99.9%</td></tr><tr><th>200</th><td class="up">100% (spark)</td><td class="up">100% (spark)</td><td>>99.9%</td></tr></tbody>

The last column is a reminder that ★5s themselves are common. The first two columns are about getting the talent you want.

The main pickup: the spark is a backstop

At 1% per pull, the main pickup lands within 100 pulls 63.4% of the time. Only 13.4% of players go all 200 pulls without seeing it, so the spark rarely comes into play. With the spark included, the average cost is 86.6 pulls, about 21,650 Blue Diamond.

For the main pickup, budget about 86.6 pulls on average and 200 at most.

At 0.25% per pull, a specific secondary talent is much harder to get from pulls alone. Without the spark, half of players would need 277 pulls, which is more than the spark itself. In practice, only 39.4% of players pull that talent before reaching 200. The other 60.6% get there and exchange for it. The average cost is 157.5 pulls, about 39,380 Blue Diamond. That is 1.8× the cost of the main pickup.

That changes how you should pull. If the talent you want is one of the secondary featured talents, commit only if you can reach the spark. If you stop at 100 pulls, you have only a 22.1% chance of having it. If you want the main pickup, pulling until it arrives is usually enough, and the spark covers the unlucky cases.

A note on the lineup

The talents named above were the pickups on 2026-08-04. Banners rotate, so treat the names as an example. The ★5 rate, the 10-pull ★4 guarantee and the 200-pull spark stay the same from banner to banner. Before you commit to a new banner, check how it splits its featured rate on the Gacha Rates page. Every ★5 card is listed on the Cards page.
