Fate/Grand Order: what maxing a Servant costs
Every top-rarity Servant costs the same 167,600,000 QP to max, exactly 2× the rarity below. The QP is fixed by rarity; materials are the variable.
Maxing a 5★ Servant in Fate/Grand Order, four ascensions plus three skills to Lv.10, costs 167,600,000 QP. Every one of the 199 5★ Servants costs exactly that. A 4★ costs 83,800,000, and the 5★ bill is 2× it.
The QP a Servant costs is set entirely by its rarity. What varies from Servant to Servant is which materials it asks for.
The QP bill by rarity
| Rarity | Servants | Ascensions 1–4 | One skill to Lv.10 | Maxed (four ascensions + three skills) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 5★ | 199 | 4,400,000 | 54,400,000 | 167,600,000 |
| 4★ | 194 | 2,200,000 | 27,200,000 | 83,800,000 |
| 3★ | 49 | 1,330,000 | 13,600,000 | 42,130,000 |
| 2★ | 15 | 660,000 | 5,440,000 | 16,980,000 |
| 1★ | 12 | 430,000 | 2,720,000 | 8,590,000 |
The only exception on the whole roster is Mash Kyrielight, the one 4★ with no ascension costs. Every other Servant pays its rarity's figure to the QP. Holy Grail ascensions past the normal cap are not included.
Skills are the bill
For a 5★, 97% of the QP goes on skills. The final skill level alone, paid three times, is 36% of the whole bill.
Ascending a 5★ all the way costs 4,400,000 QP. One skill from Lv.1 to Lv.10 costs 54,400,000, about 12× that, and a maxed Servant has 3 of them. Its last step, Lv.9 to Lv.10, is 20,000,000 QP on its own.
The materials the roster needs most
Across all 97 ascension and skill materials, these are the five with the largest total to max every Servant:
| Material | Type | Servants that use it | Total to max them all |
|---|---|---|---|
| Proof of Hero | Enhancement Material | 83 | 9,090 |
| Void's Dust | Enhancement Material | 117 | 8,895 |
| Evil Bone | Enhancement Material | 79 | 8,122 |
| Dragon Fang | Enhancement Material | 56 | 5,250 |
| Fool's Chain | Enhancement Material | 49 | 4,779 |
Proof of Hero tops the list at 9,090. The most widely used is Crystallized Lore, which 418 Servants need.
What follows for planning
Budget QP by rarity, not by Servant
Since the QP never varies within a rarity, the QP side of a plan is simple arithmetic: count the Servants you intend to max by rarity and multiply. A 5★ costs the same as two 4★s.
Stop at Lv.9 when QP is short
The last skill level is the single most expensive step in the whole process. Taking three skills to Lv.9 instead of Lv.10 saves 36% of a 5★'s bill.
Materials are where Servants differ
Two Servants of the same rarity cost the same QP but rarely the same materials, and it is the scarce material, not the QP, that usually decides which one can be finished first. Check the materials list of the Servant you want before committing QP to it.
Each Servant's own ascension and skill materials, level by level, are on the Servant Materials page; where to farm each one is on the Materials page.
